Contributing my info for others
Hello everyone! Long time, first time!
Per my signature below, I pre-ordered a iPhone 6 (4.7) 64GB Space Gray in a T-Mobile corporate store at 1:30 PM PDT. I had been in earlier about 11 AM, but their ordering system was down and my particular agent had not processed any iPhone pre-orders since arriving at 10 AM.
I have received the following updates/changes this week:
9/16 1:00 PM: Pre-authorization for the correct amount on my invoice, covering down payment, sales tax, and ground shipping.
9/17 6:40PM: T-Mobile SMS "Great news! You should receive your iPhone 6 on Friday..."
9/17 7:26 PM: T-Mobile email "Great news -- you sould receive your device on Friday..."
9/18 8:32 AM: T-Mobile SMS: We are shipping iPhone orders today using overnight delivery...
Note about My T-Mobile Pre-order status page:
Since Wednesday evening it has said "Order Status: Pre-Order [pink check]"
Order History: BackOrder 09/17/2014 at 03:19:45 AM. This time has been the same since 9/17, although it curiouslychanged from "Backordered" spelling at some point since then, I think Wednesday evening.
Notes about UPS tracking:
I have a My UPS account and have no tracking numbers assigned to my address. As of this posting, tracking by reference using my account number, order number, and phone number have not yielded any results.
Given the reported delays in T-Mobile's order status system during pre-order, it appears many phones may ship before any status updates.
For those new to T-Mobile concerned about customer service, yes, this process has been marked by poor/lack of communication, but I have otherwise been treated well (and promptly) in the past, both over the phone and in-store. Best of luck to everyone! I'm excited to get my new phone!
