People be careful of the links you click. Tmobile gives you a link in your email to check order status. Probably the best way.

Actually it isn't. I can't get my order status to come up on the link they email out but this one works perfectly:
https://account.my.t-mobile.com/myphone/checkorder.html

Again, make sure are logged in first or it will redirect you to my.t-mobile.com, you want account.my.t-mobile.com

Exactly, thats where the confusion is. A lot of people said it will be unlocked if purchased directly from Apple.

Directly from apple it is unlocked and my understanding is if you pay for it outright from T-Mobile it will be unlocked also. When i bought my 5s from a T-Mobile store and paid for it in full it was already unlocked.

Just saw the T-Mobile promo for JUMP! priority. I'm a JUMP! customer that preordered a 6+ at 4:51 PDT 9/12, back when the website wasn't taking JUMP! orders, so I did a regular EIP. I called customer service to see if I could be grandfathered into this "priority" since their website was the problem. Got a simple "nope". I'm backordered with 9/25 expected delivery date. Oh well.

They don't know what they are talking about. I went into the store yesterday and did a Jump! Order and am getting the priority shipping. I did the same thing you did and I'm just going to return the first order I placed on 9/12 when it comes. Go into the store and they will get it all straight for you.

T-Mobile: We have received your information and will connect you with a T-Mobile Chat Specialist soon.
Inigo C: Good day! Welcome to T-Mobile chat, this is Inigo, let me extend my helping hands to you!
Inigo C: Hi Patrick, pleased to meet you!
You: Hi Inigo, same here...
Inigo C: Thank you!
Inigo C: I received your concern for today about pre order, no worries I will definitely help you out with this today!
Inigo C: Patrick, the reason why you are inform when the device will be shipped is because as of the moment there is no specific time frame for the delivery of the device and once the order was place you will received an email that your order was place in backordered which is normal, no worries rest assured that the device will be shipped on time and you will be notified for this.
You: Well, Inigo my concern is that your CEO is stating that all Jump! orders will take priority over other orders.
You: Being that I'm not a Jump! customer this bothers me a great deal because i bought my iPhone 5s outright last September.
Inigo C: I see, no worries rest assured that all order is treated normal and equal as I can see and check your order it is already file and went through so when the device comes it will immediately delivered to you.
You: But Inigo thats not what the CEO or the T-Mobile website is stating. They both state that Jump! orders will get full priority.
Inigo C: Here is what I will do to assure you that you will be handled equally I will leave a note on the account for this issue so that when they check the account who have order you will be handled immediately, and you don't have to worry about this I assure you that pre orders fo the device and upgrades are handled equally.
You: I appreciate that, but orders made through Jump! already have ship dates and they were placed hours if not an entire day after my order.
Inigo C: Thank you for that information, let me check that for you.
Inigo C: Upon checking Patrick, here is what I gather for the pre order Devices will ship based on pre-order date. iPhone 6 orders placed today should ship in 1-4 weeks. iPhone 6+ orders should ship in <6 weeks. JUMP! customers who order by midnight on Sunday will be prioritized for shipping.
You: ok so explain to me how its fair that Jump! customers are getting priority over those of us who aren't jump orders.
You: So I am being penalized for not financing my last phone?
Inigo C: I really understand you on this, but the JUMP order is just prioritized when they order on sunday midnight only, and it is because we are encouraging customer to use their JUMP because it is on installment plan.
Inigo C: Actually no, all customers who pre order the device will be handled so no need to worry about it because you will received your device.
You: No, because I'm non-jump i get thrown to the back of the queue and will end up waiting 6 weeks if not longer for my phone. That is absurd and bad service. I spent 5hrs trying to order the iPhone 6+.
Inigo C: I really apologize for this, I really understand what you feel right no worries the 6 weeks is the standard processing time for any pre oder of the device and for the 5 hours of waiting I apologize for that because please understand that a large of people are contacting us to pre order the device that is the reason why you have to wait to be handled and place an order.
You: How can you say that 6 weeks is normal processing time. When Jump! orders are already showing ship dates for the very device starting this week.
Inigo C: The main reason for this is because we are encouraging customers to have an installment plan with the new device and JUMP upgrade require them to send their old device and they are left with no device to used.
You: I mean seriously those of us without jump! are being treated like 2nd class customers whose business is not as valued by T-Mobile as those customers who are part of Jump!
Inigo C: Patrick the 6 weeks is the normal process because of the high demand of the device.
You: Inigo thats insane
Inigo C: Can I just ask how did you know that all the JUMP customer who pre order has the shipped date?
You: following it on a forum screenshots are fairly good evidence.
You: plus it doesn't hurt that i have a friend who pre-ordered yesterday through jump and has a ship date also.
You: So i will again mention that i am being penalized for not having my last phone on an installment plan.
Inigo C: I really apologize for this , but I just want to inform you that due to high demand of the device you are not the only one who is experiencing this and they are willing to wait, I really hope you understand that we prioritize JUMP upgade because we will take their old device and they are left with no device.
You: In all fairness what you need to realize is that my old device (iPhone 5s) is being given to a friend who has NO device.
Inigo C: If you want to expedite your order you will have to call us again and have it expedited, as much that I want to process this on chat I don't have any access on this because the order was already placed.
You: how can i even have it expedited
You: i already have the expedited shipping
Inigo C: To have your order boost up you will just have to call us at 1-800-866-2453.
You: Any particular department i should ask for?
Inigo C: Great question, you just ask them to transfer you to the department that will be handling boost on delivery date, no worries I will leave a personal note on the account to make this much easier for you when you call.
Inigo C: Patrick, are we still connected?
You: yes
Inigo C: Perfect! Do you have any other concerns I can help you with today?
You: no i believe that covers it
You: thank you

Directly from apple it is unlocked and my understanding is if you pay for it outright from T-Mobile it will be unlocked also. When i bought my 5s from a T-Mobile store and paid for it in full it was already unlocked.

Thank you. I'm going to buy it from Apple. Hope it will come unlocked.

Not to flog a dead house, but click in the address bar and make sure you aren't on my.t-mobile.com but on account.my.t-mobile.com. The second link works for me but that doesn't mean it will nessasarily work for others.

Yeah, definitely pointed to the right address. I guess all I can do is wait.

I just wish I had any sort of information on my order. I am a new T-Mobile customer, so I can't yet log into My T-Mobile. The only thing I have received is my order confirmation email and all it says is that my order was placed on 9/12 at 4:46AM PST.

No text message, no follow up email about it being back ordered, nada. The only thing I get is a message saying it has been back ordered if I call the order status number. I understand that they might not have their stock yet, but so far, I'm completely in the dark, and that's not a pleasant first experience with T-Mobile.

Try calling the 1800 number on the top right of the "check your order page". I'm new too and I get the same "Order placed" but when I called it said "backordered"

My order still says "order placed". When I call to check the order status through the automated system, it says my order is scheduled to be delivered on the 19th. I am so confused. Does "order placed" indicate trouble?

I did two Jump! pre-orders, one for a 16GB Space Grey 6+ and one for a 16GB White 6.

The first order was done on Friday @ 2p EST for the 6+. The second for the 6 was done yesterday at ~4p EST and both show a delivery date of the 21st. No charges on the card yet. Both currently show as Backordered.

So if I order it directly from apple.com, I get it Unlocked out of the box or does it still need a T-Mobile SIM card for first time activation/unlock?

Reason I'm asking is because I plan to use it overseas very often.

No you do not need a T-Mobile SIM for activation. Use any SIM.

God the CS Reps at T-Mobile are horrible...

I want to post an update to this issue. I spoke with a level 3 CSR with T-Mobile and was given a significant bill credit. The level 3 CSR informed me that the # i was given was actually to the SPANISH order center. I have reported and forwarded a copy of that transcript to T-Mobile and it is being dealt with internally by T-Mobile. I was told that the business decision was made to give Jump! priority because they were spending the extra money monthly with T-Mobile. While I don't like that answer I do feel that the CSR was upfront and truthful with me. Now all i can do is hope i have my phone as soon as possible.

That's a drag. It might be worth going into the store and seeing if they can help.

Not sure if this is accurate or of any help, but I read a comment made by a user over at tmonews.com stating that the reason all the orders went to "backordered" because Tmo's stock hasn't been received yet and this is a default move. So I translated that to "everyone's status is backordered so once Tmo gets their units, they'll update accordingly". Again, not sure if it's correct or relevant but it seems to make sense. I ordered an iPhone 6 64GB Silver at approximately 9AM EST on preorder day and it went to "backordered" right along my iPhone 6 Plus 64GB Silver that I was able to order at approximately 2PM EST on preorder day.

I've decided to cancel my preorders from T-Mobile and get it from Falcon instead.
