Anyone know when T-Mobile plans on rolling out Band 12 by the way? I know iPhone 6 doesn't currently support it but I've read reports that say it may just get activated on the chip when T-Mobile finally rolls it out.

I figured as much. Just kind of balking at paying everything up front rather than using the JUMP I'm already paying for.

some apple stores do the jump and add lines to account through tmobile

They should know but they don't. For being a brand new customer, they have sure given a bad first impression.

Yeah, for me it's the fact you can't get a damn phone on your plan without going to a dinky T-Mobile store that has no stock of anything. Even Sprint lets you buy at Apple, Best Buy, Target, etc.

They've really limited our options. Either have to buy the phone outright from one of those sources or order through them and wait 2 months! It's ridiculous. I called 25 stores in northern California and not a single one has received a single 6 Plus unit to sell.

Really? Have you confirmed that anywhere? I was under the impression you could not.

You can buy at the Apple Store. One guy swore up and down he bought his on EIP at the Apple Store, but some don't know how to process it. Not sure about doing jump at an Apple Store though.

Hmm, I guess I'll have to look into it. One guy isn't exactly much of a testimonial lol. Maybe you can though.

He posted his receipt and everything since a few were disbelieving. There were a couple others who said they bought at an Apple Store, and actually some bought a Verizon phone at the Apple Store because those work on T-Mobile.

But the Verizon phone you'd have to buy outright for it to be unlocked. I assume the other guy waited in line or something? You certainly can't do it from Apple.com that way.

you can start a contract with Verizon ($399 for a 64GB) wait 15 days and pay the ETF plus the new line activation fee and 1st month.

$399 Phone
$350 ETF
$035 Activation
$055 1st month

almost comes out to retail price but you dont have to put the whole amount all at once

Phew. Too complicated. I indeed read on 9to5Mac back in August that Apple Stores were pilot testing the ability to sign folks up on JUMP!, Next, and Edge. Never saw a follow-up

My order status changed to shipped! But no tracking number yet, and it still says back ordered on 9/28. Now someone please explain that. Amex charge for $187 still pending.

6+ 64g gold, ordered on 9/14

I'd do this but there are no 6+ 64GB to be found in my area.

I heard that also. I think Apple is trying. I had JUMP! on my account and somehow it fell off and the CSRs are acting like I never even had it. The trade-in program is pretty good

LOL... Surely, I can't be the "one guy." To answer most of the questions...

Yes, I unintentionally cut the line when the store rep asked me if I wanted another iPhone 6 Plus. Who am I to argue? Would you say, "No, I'll go back to that long line outside the store?"
Yes, the Apple rep didn't know how to do it, so she called on another rep to assist her.
Yes, she navigated through T-Mobile's POS system to verify eligibility of line and EIP plan.
Yes, it's a real T-Mobile EIP.
No, it's not Barclaycard.
No, I didn't do a JUMP!, so I can't tell you how that would work. But, I can assume that with my other JUMP! I did through T-Mobile directly, since it was through Assurant, they would likely mail a return package with the new iPhone 6 Plus.
No, I didn't have to sign up for a new line.
Yes, I only paid $100 down for a 64GB 6 Plus, plus up-front tax.
Yes, because it was an EIP, I had to sell off my iPhone 5s and pay off the EIP balance on my own.
Yes, I verified on T-Mobile that I now have a new EIP of the iPhone 6 Plus with a remaining balance of $750.

Lol, were your ears ringing? Actually, you don't HAVE to pay the EIP balance if the main family account will stay open. CS told me that it was a new thing back in August.

Just got a call from the ERT. Same BS they're telling everyone else. Nothing new. I'm surprised no online tech website has talked about this. If another company wanted to defame T-Mobile now would be the time.

I got my 72 hour call and the rep told me i have an estimated date for tomorrow and I should have it by tomorrow. I have a hard time believing that

I was told by Apple store manager this weekend that they could do both new Jump! EIP sign-ups AND Jump! upgrades in the store.

I have several friends that waited in line overnight on release day. I had called T-Mobile CS over preorder weekend to see if this was an option for me. The CS put me on hold cause she didn't know, then came back and said no, that Jump! upgrades could only be done thru purchasing direct from T-Mobile. Being put on hold while she double-checked made it more convincing so I didn't even think to research further.

After hearing that the Apple Retail stores are getting daily deliveries, I went in to see about just buying one outright and then just cancelling my TMO preorder. When I explained my circumstances, the rep said that they could do a Jump! upgrade. She even went an got a manager to double - check when I expressed scepticism. He (store manager) said they can absolutely do Jump! upgrades in store, that they have been doing them since launch day, and that they have pre-printed envelopes for returning your trade in device to T-Mobile. He did say that they havent been doing very many of them and that their stock of T-Mobile devices has been smaller than that of other carriers and that they seem to go quicker. He attributed this to the T-Mobile devices being "unlocked" and available for purchase without a current or new contract, while this isn't this case for Verizon & AT&T phones, and so the "T-Mobile phones" are the ones that get sold to customers of regional carriers like Cricket, etc. (I assume these customers are more likely resellers/scalpers though).

This is just one more T-Mobile communication fail to the many, since I could have just joined the camp out with my buddies and avoided this whole TMO preorder debacle.

Man, I've called both my local Apple Stores and chatted online with Apple twice and they all tell me they don't do anything with T-Mobile plans. Only full retail "no-contract." What area are you from?

Does this mean I'm back in the lead for "last 9/12 person to get a phone," especially since my order is going backwards?

Did they have to get it from a T-Mobile specific stock do you know?
