Open the phone dialer and enter this string: *3001#12345#*
Press the call button
This will put you in field test mode
3rd entry down on the field test screen is Serving Cell Info, tap it
2nd entry down is Freq Band Indicator- this tells what band you are on

Press the home button to exit

Thanks! I was wondering this myself. Is there any way to force it to look for and/or connect to band 12?

I am starting to wonder if the 700mhz spectrum map posted on spectrum-gateway.appspot.com is accurate for my area. It shows "on air" here... I just used the field test mode at home and got "4." I was at Walmart earlier - the place where my 5s always goes to "no service" in half the store - and my new beautiful iPhone also lost service completely. :-( Bummed about that, but still love the new phone.

ETA: I did more research and found that t-mo just announced yesterday that 700mhz is live throughout LA and surrounding areas. I'm in one of the surrounding areas and my city was listed in their press release. Not feeling the band 12 love though.... Maybe it's going to get better. Maybe the announcement was slightly premature for my exact town but was included in the press release anyway. Guess time will tell. I'd still love to know if there is a way to 'scan' for band 12 availability.

Got my phone at 4:55PM so sweet love it. Supper fast. iPhone 6s Plus is heaver you notice it at first but then after a while can't tell a difference. Very Fast!! Pictures look sweet and 4k video looks awesome although I don't have anything to view true 4k on. Signal strength is one dot higher inside my house. Touch ID is way, way faster.

How can you tell the Video was 4k?

I live in Union City and I haven't received mine yet. It's almost 9PM :(
Sorry to hear that. Have you got it already? Sometimes they drop packages into the night, as in past 8pm. I got my phones at noon. South Bay.
EDIT: I just saw the follow up post saying yo got the phone 10 minutes after posting. I think we should all agree that UPS goes (save some exceptions) the extra mile to keep customers happy :)

Have to wait till Monday. Messed up with UPS ground...

At least I got a call from the CEO bureau and get a credit from $125 for the delay!

Just wanted to say that after a LONNNGGG day at the job selling 6S's it was nice to go home and actually receive MY 6S Plus 128! As always it was a nice time this year sharing this entire crazy preorder experience with all of you and I hope to see all of your screen names next year for, what is surely going to be an insane 7 launch!

I wonder how T-Mobile will manage to make THAT preorder experience more complex than it needs to be? Lol

You won't connect to LTE B12 unless the LTE B4 reaches a certain low level signal. On-air reports are crowdsourced.

Oh, that's interesting. I didn't know that. Guess I have a lot to learn. LOL

I edited my post above to say t-mo put out an official press release yesterday that included my city as one where 700mhz is now live. Hopefully it will make a difference for me soon!

Who ships a $900 iPhone6s/Plus to its customers in a plastic bag? TMOBILE DOES!

Our household had 3 6s phones arriving today from different providers. The 6s Plus ordered from Verizon Wireless arrived first via Fedex. The phone arrived in a mint condition cardboard Fedex box and the interior had ample cushioning. The other 2 phones were delivered 2 hours later via UPS. Upon hearing the sound of the diesel truck, I immediately ran down the stairs to meet the UPS guy. The UPS guy had 2 packages in his hand, one was a large cardboard box delivered from Apple, the other was from TMOBILE that came in a beat up plastic bag with no cushioning because all the bubble wrap had popped during transit. I couldn't believe my eyes that TMOBILE would be so irresponsible to ship a $900 phone in a cheap priority mail bubble wrap envelope out to its loyal customer. Upon opening the plastic bag, I was shocked to see that the iphone box had numerous dents. I'm assuming this was from the UPS driver tossing everyone else's boxed packages on top of my unprotected plastic bubble wrap package. This is totally unacceptable and appalling, and is bad business practice on TMOBILE' s part. Instead of trying to cut costs by shipping people's $900 phones in plastic bags, they should have protected their customers merchandise by shipping it in a sturdy cardboard box, like all the other carriers did. The box was so badly damaged, that I called customer service to ship me another phone which won't be arriving until Tuesday. Normally, I wouldn't be so picky about a box, but when a customer is paying over $900 for an electronic item that was most likely damaged during transit, something had to be done. #shipgate

Totally unacceptable!! I'd like to punch the T-Mobile and UPS people responsible for this damage to my phone box in the throat. And the letter says to get a credit with Jump trade in you must used the enclosed bag, which wasn't enclosed, only a sticker label. And the bag is wretched and I'll show you the bottom half, not the top because it has personal info, but that half was twice as bad. Such a disgrace. Sprint and Apple ALWAYS put them in boxes, and I even asked the rep this time about that and he assured me it will be double boxed. Yeah, blow it out your a**! Wait until I get ahold of T-mobile. Guarantee you I'll get at least a $50 credit for this.

I'm with you on this one! Shipping in a plastic bag is a complete negligence on TMOBILE's part. What customers do with their box is their business.

Thats the way the came last year too. No problems with my device or box must have been towards the top of the pallet. Sorry to hear yours was messed up.

Totally, they'll swap you out a new phone.

That's awesome, but I figured that they wouldn't be able to help me because I purchased the phone thru t-mobile. But I really really hope they do, and I hope they even have my phone in stock to replace it (RG 6s 64gb)

i cant say it was fun because, well it was a nightmare, ERT is the real MVP's today and im going to go into a iphone 6s coma as i lick the rose gold till my mouth turns red. I will say aside from 2gb of ram hey siri is my fav feature because now i can drive 100% hands free. GOODLUCK THOSE WHO ARE STILL WAITING!

Warranty is covered through Apple for the 1st year. Apple keeps a certain amount to swap out defected devices like yours, or they'll replace the screen for you. You can always return your defect back to Tmobile and they'll do the exchange for you.
