No. It's gonna be around $45 taxes, on the whole phone upfront. If you're in a tax state of 6%, as in my case. So total $144.95 will be charged when the phone ships.
It is taxed on 99 only. The remaining tax is paid with the installment. You pay the full tax on the installment and receive a $12 credit or whatever the credit is.

Reading this thread makes me feel better about my order...

I ordered at the store first thing in the morning, got my EIP email right away with the correct lease terms and pricing.

The only thing I have to baby sit is making sure that I do not get charged again for the down payment since I already paid it 2.5 weeks ago when I switched to T-Mobile and got the 6...

I may have to fight a bit for that, but we'll see, the in store reps are telling me that I will just automatically get a credit when the phone ships, so I will be charged, but then credited.

I hate that I have to babysit any of this, but grateful the right phone was ordered and the right plan.

Now I just really hope I get my phone early since I'm going out of town on the 25th,

I gotcha. I think for the JOD it's different. I don't have a $12 credit/promo rate or anything, I'm just a regular JUMP customer. I will be charged $150 for the downpayment plus $50 tax.

Oh that sucks. :( Well the bank alert is a great way too. I forgot to get rid of mine from last year so every time I spent over 50 bucks I got a text and email lol So annoying but paid off during phone drama

I turned on my Amex alerts awhile back so I see every charge that happens. That'll be my cue when the phone ships. I would have enjoyed watching my phone on the flight tracker though. I assume i'm getting mine on the 25th so i'll just follow along with others. I should be able to track stuff as well once I get the tracking number from T-Mobile.

I had the error too that the twitter team could not fix. Went to the store and 20 minutes later I got my phone ordered and my wrong jod fixed

Ugh! Can't do the my choice. I live in a condo and when I submit my address it says it's a commercial address and can't accept the submission.
I had that same issue last month when I moved. Just call UPS support and tell them the situation and they'll fix it for you. The only negative, outside of the initial reason calling, was they said they would send me an email letting me know when the issue was fixed but I never got it. I just tried to change my address again one day and it worked.

If you buy an iPhone full price at T-Mobile (rather than Apple.com) or after your installment period, how hard is it to get the phone unlocked? Is it as simple as ATT's online form or must you call in?

Just finished my 12th phone call. My account has been noted that I will get all of my down payments refunded to me via bill credits and that my monthly rates will not be changed. This was confirmed when I called in that a supervisor noted the account. I am supposed to receive said bill credits October 7th, so I guess I will keep an eye out at that point.

For the 6S plus line I am paying $444 out of pocket (they couldn't tell me why), however I am getting that entire sum credited to my bill, so I guess it's like receiving a $444 discount on the device; this device will therefore not be turned in, but bought out at the end (EIP says $180 and my monthly rate is $11 and change so it seems they just gave me the phone for half price) and sold since it makes much more sens to go that route. The other two devices will likely be traded for the next generation, presumabley iphone 7.

I foresee myself coming back to forums and updating my issues. As it stands it sounds too good to be true, but who knows. I am sort of tired by the entire process and will just be waiting for shipping confirmations. If that never happens I will just go in to a TMO on launch day and see what they are able to tell me.

Well this has been worse than last year.

My original order was "lost", the order that was on my line was incorrect, then my EIP couldn't be sent out, I was told I could sign EIP in the store, and the store rep laughed. Pretty much this is the worst pre-order experience I've ever had with T-Mobile. And close to 4 pre-orders still isn't correct.

Sent a rather lengthy note to TMOBILE Helps. Hopefully this resolves it but I'm pretty sure I ain't getting the device day of because of TMOBILE. FRUSTRATING AS HECK

I preordered 2 6S Plus's at about 3:30AM EST on 9/12. Just got a phone call, 8AM EST 9/14, with an automated message saying if I don't sign the EIP my order will be cancelled within 48 hours. I still haven't received EIP emails

Agreed.

All the reps kept saying that they weren't prepared for the volume of the orders that they got. I was like "Um. Hold up. Your CEO has a freakin' manifesto on your website talking about this awesome deal you guys are offering and you didn't expect this volume? Yeah. That makes like...all the sense in the world." SMH. They've gotta do better.

Exactly, and I honestly think that given the circumstances, most posters have come off rather level-headed and understanding of the situations. I myself told every single customer service rep that I do not blame them, rather it's the lack of planning from the COMPANY that should be at fault.

I just keep thinking back to 2007 and the launch with AT&T, before you could even do preorders. The process went MUCH smoother and THAT was a first time ever launch.

T-Mobile coveted the iPhone for YEARS, to the point where they were proudly selling Sim Kits to customers who wanted to bring their iPhones to the carrier. They Finally get the phone and can't even set up a logical preorder system? You have thousands of employees working at 3am while the system is going through "nightly upgrades"?!!?!!? You have them MANUALLY entering orders!??! You do not have enough PROPERLY trained staff on hand to assist when their might be an error?!??!? Your system doesn't allow for even the newest employee to cancel an incorrect order and set up a new one BEFORE 48 Hours!?!?!!?

On top of that you have people signing legally binding contracts overcharging them?!!?! We have people going back and forth right now debating over taxes....TAXES!!!!! Not the incredible new phone we all were excited about....we're talking about TAXES!!!!!!

It's just ridiculous

I've unlocked two iPhones through t-mobile customer service before. It wasn't an issue.

He's only saying this stuff because he doesn't have any issues with his order.

Nobody is wrong for trying to get their order fixed when it should've been accurate to begin with.

I can vouch for this. My order seems to have gone through smooth, so I have yet to complain. Last year however I was raising HELL. God it was just an awful experience. I am trying to think back to when I got the 6+ and I don't even remember if I got it on launch or the next week or so. I hope all you guys get everything sorted out.

For people that are purchasing the iPhone 6s+ in 64GB how much are you paying for the down payment? I was told $99 plus tax, then I was told $99 plus tax of the whole phone. Does anyone know?

My EIP states:

Downpayment:
$99.99
Tax:
$65.87
Total:
$165.86

So the phone is $849.99 then there is a $65.87 sales tax on the phone, and you basically pay that with the downpayment. so your downpayment is basically $99.99 + your tax %

My experience was a mess due to the system being down and the reps taking manual orders. Here's how it went:

I called at midnight and the rep was very kind and she told me I was her first iPhone 6S preorder call so it would be a training exercise for both. That alone worried me but I proceeded with her. She asked me which model, confirmed I had Jump On Demand and then after 10 min of confirming details, she said: "ok, we've successfully preordered your 64GB Silver 6S. You will get an email anytime between today and Tuesday so you can see your order info. If you don't get that email don't stress and you don't have to do any more follow-ups, just wait patiently." I asked her if there was any order # or confirmation # so I could write it down and she said that it would all be on the email. So, I went back to bed thinking all was ok.

During the day I started getting concerned that no email had gone through so I called. Rep told me there was no record of any order, no notes or anything and that I should have gotten the email by now. That's when I started freaking out. So, she said she would call me back on Sunday to give it 24 hrs just in case it comes through to avoid putting duplicate orders. Ok, so i went about my day just fine when I get a call from Tmobile and the rep tells me that the order hasn't placed or processed and that there's an issue with my Jump on Demand being setup incorrectly via the retail store back in July and I can't preorder it unless I pay it in full. I said hell no, and he sent over to escalation.

I couldn't enjoy my Saturday because I kept thinking wtf is going on so I contacted T-Force team via twitter DM and as usual they were amazing. I explained everything and they asked if they could call (even though it was 3AM my time. I said of course, and they helped me set up everything by placing the order again. I immediately got my e-document to sign via email and the order details and a text via tmobile. I'm now happily waiting for the tracking info.

TL;DR: it was a headache, and it stressed me out all throughout the weekend, but the main culprit was the system downtime, and the reps not being transparent by explaining the situation. I bet there's a ton of issues going on regarding the manual entries.

I thought they put a temporary charge.

last year my phone was at my house the day after my card was charged. there were no holds

you cant put a $100+ hold on someones card for weeks, that would be rediculous. at the bare minimum it would be a two week hold untill the 25th and possibly many many more weeks ifnyou arent in the first batch.

I'm new to this thread so I apologize if this has already been discussed. I ordered 2-64GB 6s over the phone on Saturday. I received a call from T-Mobile the next day to ask for more details from me. They had trouble finding one of my orders. Apparently they had to split the order up. I do have order numbers but have not received any email from T-Mobile and I'm not seeing any updates on T-Mobile.com. Did anyone else have this happen and is anyone seeing order status updates?

What are people seeing under Order Status today? This is what mine shows as of this morning.

Slightly concerned because it doesn't show the name of the phone I ordered or any other information ...

I was able to check before. Now it says this: "If you have placed a recent order, it's making it's way through our systems now. Please come back and check again later."
