pre-ordered iPhone 6s 64GB Space Gray yesterday:
After switching to T-mo last October with the iPhone 6, and, lack of LTE band 12, and also having some issues w/iPhone 6, decided to get on T-mo's new Jump! On Demand. I went to local T-mo store yesterday and, after being assured there was not an additional charge for JOD, was able to get set-up for a 6s/64/SG pre-order, signed when I got home, but, no update yet, says it can take 48 hrs., so, hopefully I get some kind of shipping estimate. Because I went from 128GB 6 to 64GB 6s, didn't cost me too much, but, I realized after that I did spend some extra when I paid the original down payment on the 6, but, I didn't have to pay off the 6 first and now I can upgrade free going forward, so, that's that. I had to put more down (162+10tax), but $24/mo. (23.97) isn't bad, (+$182 at end of 18 months to buy it, if I want), I'm not sure what the taxes are, as they are in the monthly payments, but, not paying more than if I bought it from apple, possibly less, but, I think it's a lot less than $125, closer to roughly $50.
This will be the first time I have not waited at least 2 years to upgrade. I'm looking forward to it. I hope the issues I was having with iPhone 6 (intermittent) were the phone and not iOS bugginess, (I didn't get a chance to get to apple store genius bar), but, we shall find out.
The main reasons for not waiting 2 years:
• LTE band 12 (more chances for better indoor reception)
• BT 4.2 (I read 4.1 & 4.2 have less interference with the other radios over 4.0, and I think I have interference issues.)
• MIMO
Secondary:
• Better cameras
• Live photos
• 3D touch
FYI: AppleCare+ ... some places incorrectly state the prices, iPhone 6s AND 6s Plus are both $129, and the charge for replacement is $99. I'm guessing this is because of the new touchscreen and taptic engine. (If one buys the non-"s" 6/6+, it is still $99/$79.)
However, I got on JOD so that I can upgrade before the warranty runs out. So I may opt for a drop-tested case (ugh, not a fan of cases, I like it thin in my pocket) and not bother with AppleCare+.
