I actually just upgraded to a 14" MBP - cannot confirm the 3 seconds but the first tap is ignored for CMD-tap reliably. Remainder work fine on 12.1. Tap-to-click without a separate key is working flawlessly for me currently.
I’m on 14” M1 Pro MacBook. I’ve seen reports that this cmd + tap issue is more prevalent in 14” than 16”
They need to fix this asap. It’s driving me crazy.update: I think Apple is potentially recognizing + working to fix on the `cmd + tap` still being broken even in the RC2 build. This feedback I had filed a while ago got updated today with the "recent similar reports: more than 10" and "potential fix identified". My report is from a sometime ago when both the standalone taps and `cmd + tap` were broken. The former is fixed, the latter is definitely not fixed on the 14" MBP.
Let's hope they actually fix this in the next update.

Cmd + click or cmd + tap to click ?On macOS 12.1 with macBook Pro 14", CMD+click is working every time for me; however, SHIFT+click works about 50% of the time.
Apologies, tap-to-click. I'll edit the original comment.Cmd + click or cmd + tap to click ?

does it say that on your specific feedback report about the missed "cmd + tap" issue? It says that on mine that is a combined report for the "tap to click" in general being unreliable (which was fixed in beta 4) + "cmd + tap" which still isn't fixed of course. Would be good to get clarity on whether they're working to fix the latter issue specifically that's still impacting me and many others on 14" MBP.It got updated and now says more than 10 similar reports and a potential fix identified.

which device are you on? would you mind checking if the `cmd + tap` not registering for the first two taps is fixed in this beta by any chance, especially if you're on the 14" MBP?Upgraded to 12.2 and I'm facing the same issue using the Magic Trackpad in bluetooth mode, but i think that my case is a particular case. The trackpad works fine 90% of the time, but sometimes it misses some gestures, frequently I move the cursor and it is not recognized, so I need to try again and this time it works fine. As I bought the trackpad some days ago, I will request a refund. Maybe a bluetooth issue with my Mac, I don't know.
I have an Air 2020 13", sorry. CMD + tap is absolutely fine here.which device are you on? would you mind checking if the `cmd + tap` not registering for the first two taps is fixed in this beta by any chance, especially if you're on the 14" MBP?
Unreal. I’m starting to lose hope that this will ever be fixed. Is this a hardware issue by any chance?14" M1 Max, 12.2 Beta - CMD + tap and SHIFT + tap are still broken.
Pinch to zoom is... still unreliable too.
Yeah that’s my reasoning as well, but it’s been a while since this issue has been going on. Happening since day 1 on my new 14”. I think we just need more people specifically reporting the “cmd + tap” bug so they can’t ignore it.Given taps without modifier keys are working reliably now, I highly doubt that this is a hardware issue.
