I priced matched the CPU, Ram, GPU and SSD for less than 1/3rd the price Apple is asking for. This is criminally expensive.
Of course it is, but it's the OS that makes the difference....right?

I still think it's a nice bit of engineering anyway.

I'm not sure about that.. how much details our eyes can see in a given distance?

Perhaps if you have a whole wall as a monitor then 8k res will do but if you are using 32" then i believe 4k is more than enough. At arms length i think our eyes can no longer see the individual pixel in a 4k 32" monitor.

Here's the answer (tool by me): https://codepen.io/znak/details/qNrVxg

Apple has sent the machines to their favorite fashion youtubers. Maybe it would be better if they thought about real PRO? I am a PRO, but I don't have to look pretty on film and never buy this equipment, because it's 5 times too expensive.

What sort of publicity can you offer them in return?

How many millions of people can you get their product in front of, with a glowing reviews?

Thats why these youtubers get the stuff, they get people looking at the merchandise.

Cue all the initial biased reviews.

iJustine went so far as to say “this is the best day of my life”!!!!
Seriously?!!!!

All this halo marketing talk is stupid. If a few pros were sent review units all they have to do is let the usual blogs know. Like this one? And then other media pick up. I’d have never heard of these YouTube reviews otherwise. Their joke followers are insignificant.

So what real benefit does Apple get here other than causing confusion or annoyance? Most here don’t like it. That’s a nice feeling to foster. Bravo Apple. You even have a few in this forum that think these you tubers have some kind of value.

Maybe companies should do this more. Send the YouTube guys who have no clue your product to review. We need to see what iJustine has to say about it. Lol. Maybe Apple should just send her atv+ shows in advance to preview.

Apple is no fool and every other company does this - send the units out to their evangelists (so to speak). Either way, it looks to be a fantastic computer, when MKBHD opened up the machine and we see how nicely designed and the layout - not a wire in sight. Apple really hit it out of the park design wise. Price wise, and that's another thing. This is not going to be for the typical mac user

hoho lol same spec.. free maybe..

using imac 2017 baseline.. It is can do work.Yup... it is slow yup if multi tasking abit.. But if just want performance just separate the usage.

E.g

1. I test my app on my ipod touch
2. I play music with my ipad 2019 mini
3. I have added external ssd

Conclusion

You don't need 6 grand to work with to perform.. It's all about skill. No skill , still end up making a team hired more cheaper then single person single computer usage.
Good god man, learn english. That was painful as hell to read....

I watched the iJustine video and I got the feeling as she had an "orgasm" during unpacking ... 😅
And these sayings: "OMG, this is the best day of my life". Really?

Thankfully, the first video from MKBHD was much more professional.

I've got nothing against YouTubers doing their thing. It's not my thing.

I even understand why Apple would use this avenue to introduce their new halo product… sort of.

What I don't understand - and never have - is the whole "unboxing" drama. It's like sitting around watching someone open their mail.

When I stopped watching iJustine's video: The moment she got all squishy about the monitor stand packaging.

So smaller simulations by financial fringe group.

I reckon Goldman-Sachs has $, but there are cheaper options for that purpose. I suppose all PCI ports and other expandability options will go unused in this case.

Financial models, I work at Goldman. I also do k8s scalability work

Youtube reviewers really are some of the most dislikable people imaginable, it's all so cringe and biassed.

A few of reasons people hate Apple YouTubers:

1) Apple haters can't stand to hear someone say something positive about Apple's products. I see many BIG YouTubers review Lenovo and Dell products with barely any criticism and the comments are all positive. Lenovo Thinkpads and Dell XPS machines have a multitude of problems, but because they are not Apple high praise and hiding problems are acceptable to viewers.

2) Apple haters want more Apple trashing from big YouTubers like Unbox Therapy and Linus Tech Tips. Both these YouTubers trash Apple in order to get clicks and I have zero respect for them because they are not objective, but Apple haters love them because they don't give any credit to Apple's products where it's due. If Apple's products were worthy of so much trashing the company and it's products wouldn't be so popular.

3) Lastly, because Apple has grown to be one of the largest companies world wide Apple haters get mad at any praise for products made by a company so big that has become also the most popular company worldwide. Even someone's super-aging grandmother has heard of Apple and the iPhone. Can't say the same about Samsung's Galaxy phones.

I'm not the market for this mac and I'm perfectly happy with my iMac Pro, but I am curious to see how the professionals that were the intended market for this computer, hollywood film editors, actually use this new mac's full capabilities. I hope some of these professionals put out review videos in the future.

"In a rendering test, the ‌Mac Pro‌ did in four minutes what it took the 16-inch MacBook Pro 20 minutes to do and the iMac Pro 12 minutes to do"

Say is all regarding why this is for Pros, not everyone else. Time is money and money is time , this is money in the bank for those who can bill for it
