To you anyways.I think it's more that the services are a part of a wider theme with Apple's software in general, i.e that it's garbage
To you anyways.I think it's more that the services are a part of a wider theme with Apple's software in general, i.e that it's garbage
It doesn't matter what other services do if I am happy with the service provided. The problem with Apple Intelligence is that other services, like Copilot, does a lot more than what Apple Intelligence does.
Apple Intelligence summarizes my teams messages as well, very useful. You're arguing a use case that with some function on my phone, something else is better, when I am satisfied with the service provided and don't require the other service. Remember we are talking about an iphone, not a enterprise wide desktop class computer. My experience with AI on my iphone is good because of Apple Intelligence and my use case. For example, I can summarize emails, as you do with Apple Intelligence. But with Copilot I also summarize documents and even Teams meetings. I can analyze Excel spreadsheets and even helps creating formulas. I can tell PowerPoint to create a draft from a MS Word document. In OneDrive you can compare two documents and even ask questions about it. And there are a lot of other features. My experience with AI in my Apple devices is good because of MS, not because of Apple.
That's why services revenue is bigger than the GDP of some countries. /sI think it's more that the services are a part of a wider theme with Apple's software in general, i.e that it's garbage.
Do mean, "Quit trying to improve iOS?" Because having a firewall is the most security for the lowest effort. It's like wearing shoes to walk on Legos. It's like wear a helmet when riding a motorcycle/bike. It's like not drinking the water in Mexico if you're a first time tourist.I really wish ppl would stop trying to lake iOS like Android.
I do. I am. I also have an old jailbroken iPhone, which I'm happy has a firewall.🤗 It's too old to be nagged about having "upgrade."🥳🥳Just use Android and be happy.
If you think having a firewall is an Android only feature, I've got a bridge to sell you. Your Mac has a firewall. Windows have a firewall. Hail, anything networked would--or at least should--have a firewall. Android doesn't come with a firewall.😕 You have to root and install one. You can install a firewall in iOS as well. Again, root/jailbreak required. If you don't think a firewall is all that important, why don't you disable the firewall on your mac?🤔Again isn’t that what Android is for.
This is the typical type of claptrap seen on these forums. People buy iphones not because they are good, but because they are the best of the worst. Along with people suffer in silence. The world suffers in silence with all of the issues on an iphone. I somehow tend to doubt it.Do young people not complain about their Apple devices because they don't have issues, or because they just don't talk about them?
I had those problems until I cleaned them and changed the tips and now no more issues. No crackling', no bad sound etc. If the airpods were as bad as all of that there would be a huge hue and cry on the internet. It wouldn't be some anecdotal opinions about suffering in silence.Personally, I've had two problems with my AirPods Pro: they often don't connect, and they make a crackling noise when noise canceling or transparency is on. Since I don't complain with anyone about this, you would say that my experience is excellent, when in reality, I'm having issues. My point is that, just because you don't hear people complaining doesn't mean there aren't problems. If you check Apple forums, you'll see plenty of people talking about issues with Apple devices, just like with Android devices you heard of. From what I have seen, both have their own set of problems.
Quality is not something that thought of for example using airpods on a noisy Manhattan street. While the airpods do a good job in isolation they need to be good enough. To me the tight integration with the apple ecosystem outweights any probable small gain in quality from another manufacturer.I agree that most Chromebooks are used in educational settings, but they still offer many benefits compared to what Apple provides for this type of environment. And while Windows often gets criticized, it has many advantages over macOS. I use both environments daily, and they are both excellent, though each has its issues. In my opinion, there's no perfect OS.
I haven't used Android tablets, but I did have a Surface Pro 4, which had many advantages over iPads.
AirPods and Beats are very popular, but if you're after sound quality, you should look at brands like Sony, B&W, or B&O.
I have Apple Music because I'm in the apple ecosystem and have a homepod. Had it for years. To me AM provides a better overall experience than spotify and airplay 2 works on every modern non-Apple device I have including my home theater and two large screen TVs. Wish there was airplay in my Tesla. All of this is anecdotal.I have Apple music because offers better sound quality. However, Spotify provides a better overall experience, and in my case, Spotify Connect works better than AirPlay 2.
Why do you visit Android support forums if you don't have an Android device, and from what I understand, you don't care for them? How do you get to the conclusion that there are more complaints? And that’s fine but I see way more complaints on Android support forums
I don't care about hardware changes either, and I expect the camera to improve on every version. My comment was more in line with improvements that impact my workflow. They have been very few, and Apple Intelligence is underwhelming. Maybe your case is different, and you are excited with new Memojis and emojis.Because that’s what the masses are calling for. I personally don’t care about hardware redesigns.
I care about camera improvements.
It’s also why I have literally owned the same type of car the last 10 years (jeep wrangler) and they virtually are unchanged aesthetically wise
I'm not distressed, I just posting my comments and opinions.I can’t imagine what runs through people’s heads. Here Apple is likely making billions on iPhone sales, but they are distressed because service revenue isn’t keeping up with the hardware sales? I think not.
I already gave my opinion, teens picks iPhone because it has the apps they use.Doesn’t matter what the root cause of this hardware engagement is. It’s apple that is reaping the benefit. If from you’re point of view teens aren’t picking an iPhone because it’s the best, I say run with whatever explanation makes sense to you that teens like iPhones.
If you tell a young person that they won't have the apps and services they use, but they keep iMessage and FaceTime, which one do you think is more important for them?Know what, and so do I as well as iMessage and FaceTime and airdrop.
Let me make a questions about it. If the iPhone didn't have the 3rd party apps and services young use every day, would it be useful to them? What do you think? What’s with the hypotheticals?
I agree that iMessage and FaceTime are very useful. But are more useful and important for them than that list of apps I posted before? In your opinion. I believe teens like iMessage and FaceTime, which is very useful. If you believe the iPhone is lacking for teens, give apple some feedback.
And those services are inferior with integration to me.The problem with Apple Intelligence is that other services, like Copilot, does a lot more than what Apple Intelligence does
Android fans can’t grasp the concept that Apple users are happy and can’t fathom why their issues aren’t ours lolIt doesn't matter what other services do if I am happy with the service provided.
Improve ios. Stop trying to make it like Android bc Android is terrible.Do mean, "Quit trying to improve iOS?" Because having a firewall is the most security for the lowest effort. It's like wearing shoes to walk on Legos. It's like wear a helmet when riding a motorcycle/bike. It's like not drinking the water in Mexico if you're a first time tourist.
Funny thing is when Apple copied Android they usually do it better.Maybe you should tell Apple to stop copying features found in Android. Yet when Apple does release a feature that had been on Android for years, people cheer. I don't mind Google copying features of iOS as long as it makes Android better.
Well bless your heartI do. I am. I also have an old jailbroken iPhone, which I'm happy has a firewall.🤗 It's too old to be nagged about having "upgrade."🥳🥳
lol I love how Android fans try to make Apple seem like some dictator lmao. The melodrama is hilarious. But Apple doesn't want the customer having the power. All power should be concentrated in Apple's hands and features to be doled out at Apple's leisure. Instead of a firewall, we get Genmoji and a crippled AI. Thanks Apple.![]()
I do have an Android device sadly. And I like to keep up with tech. Why do you visit Android support forums if you don't have an Android device, and from what I understand, you don't care for them? How do you get to the conclusion that there are more complaints?
I don’t care about Apple intelligence in general but what it does more than Memojis I likedI don't care about hardware changes either, and I expect the camera to improve on every version. My comment was more in line with improvements that impact my workflow. They have been very few, and Apple Intelligence is underwhelming. Maybe your case is different, and you are excited with new Memojis and emojis.
Youre sure seem thatcwatcI'm not distressed, I just posting my comments and opinions.
They pick up iPhones bc they deem them better.I already gave my opinion, teens picks iPhone because it has the apps they use.
Again that’s irrelevant bc that’s not happening so you’re literally making a what if that doesn’t existIf you tell a young person that they won't have the apps and services they use, but they keep iMessage and FaceTime, which one do you think is more important for them?
Then it would go the way the windows phone did.Let me make a questions about it. If the iPhone didn't have the 3rd party apps and services young use every day, would it be useful to them? What do you think?
agree that iMessage and FaceTime are very useful. But are more useful and important for them than that list of apps I posted before?
Then why pick an expensive iphone or hand me down over an almost free or inexpensive android device. I think you're way off base.I'm not distressed, I just posting my comments and opinions.
I already gave my opinion, teens picks iPhone because it has the apps they use.
Imessage and facetime. If you tell a young person that they won't have the apps and services they use, but they keep iMessage and FaceTime, which one do you think is more important for them?
There are phones without 3rd party apps, but essentially that is 1992.Let me make a questions about it. If the iPhone didn't have the 3rd party apps and services young use every day, would it be useful to them? What do you think?
I think so. As well as airdrop and other apple ecosystem features and functions. One may have a sinister viewpoint in popular consumerism:I agree that iMessage and FaceTime are very useful. But are more useful and important for them than that list of apps I posted before?
You also said "It’s pointless and I’m ready for it to die." Why you are ready for AI to die if it's gimmicky just for you, but useful for other people?Never said it wasn’t gimmicky for anyone but me
iPhone users doesn't seem to care about Apple Intelligence, while at the same time ChatGPT is one of the most popular apps in the App Store. So people do care about AI, but not about Apple AI.I mean if we base it off macrumors daily drama sure lol most of the everyday people using iPhones don’t seem to mind
After reading your comments and that you are annoyed by Android users, I could understand them.I also don’t like wearing seatbelts or paying bills. I still do them.
Both can be true friend.
I do find it annoying Talking to android users. I also still talk to android users. I don’t care about a bubble color the way Android users try to trivialize Apple fans
Maybe they expect the same from iOS fans.Like mature adults without a napoleon complex
How do you know that mainly Apple users with Android devices are the one who complain?I do visit Apple forums. It’s mainly Apple users who also use Android who complain
I prefer first party apps too. But right now, most of the 3rd party apps I use, are better than first party apps. And that’s lovely for you. Some of us prefer first party apps and services over third party.
Glad it works for you I guess. Apple intelligence works justice fine for me even if I find AI stupid
It is pointless. And I rather resources be spent in other things. I can have that opinion. You also said "It’s pointless and I’m ready for it to die." Why you are ready for AI to die if it's gimmicky just for you, but useful for other people?
When did I say people didn’t care lmao. I said I don’t care. I also said many people do like Apple intelligence and the average everyday citizen likely has nonissues with it.iPhone users doesn't seem to care about Apple Intelligence, while at the same time ChatGPT is one of the most popular apps in the App Store. So people do care about AI, but not about Apple AI.
Well glad you can justify others insecurities. After reading your comments and that you are annoyed by Android users, I could understand them.
I also don’t go on Android fan sites bashing Android. I simply don’t use it lol.Maybe they expect the same from iOS fans.
Because I have been on these forums for years lol these are the same ppl singing androids praises lolHow do you know that mainly Apple users with Android devices are the one who complain?
For you. I never asked you to justify you prefer and yet here we areI prefer first party apps too. But right now, most of the 3rd party apps I use, are better than first party apps.
You really are trying so hard to catch me up and it’s hilarious.BTW, you posted "I actually don’t use Apple intelligence...", but now you said "Apple intelligence works justice fine for me...!. Do you use it or don't use it? Does it means that it works fine because you don't use it?
Good to know if it works for you. But considering the feedback Apple received from Apple Intelligence, it looks like you part of a small group of people. Maybe you should try something better, like ChatGPT or Copilot if you have MS Office. It's far better. It doesn't matter what other services do if I am happy with the service provided.
I haven't seen Apple Intelligence summarize Teams Meetings. Do you copy / paste the transcript and make a summary with Apple Intelligence? If that's the case, Copilot does more than that. Copilot can summarize discussion points, including who said what and where people are aligned or disagree and even suggest action items. You can also ask questions about the meeting in real time during or after a meeting. Is that how Apple Intelligence works with Teams? You are right, we are talking about the iPhone, not an enterprise-wide desktop class computer. Does it mean that Apple Intelligence in macOS and Apple productivity apps have something similar, since it's a desktop computer?Apple Intelligence summarizes my teams messages as well, very useful. You're arguing a use case that with some function on my phone, something else is better, when I am satisfied with the service provided and don't require the other service. Remember we are talking about an iphone, not a enterprise wide desktop class computer. My experience with AI on my iphone is good because of Apple Intelligence and my use case.
Yeah. Apple intelligence is integrated into iOS. That’s a feature draw and makes it better. But sure if you’re on an enterprise desktop class computer it’s a different story.Good to know if it works for you. But considering the feedback Apple received from Apple Intelligence, it looks like you part of a small group of people. Maybe you should try something better, like ChatGPT or Copilot if you have MS Office. It's far better.
Nope.I haven't seen Apple Intelligence summarize Teams Meetings. Do you copy / paste the transcript and make a summary with Apple Intelligence?
Nope. It just happens. I use copilot on my pc when i can leverage large spreadsheets and word docs. The conversation is about iPhones. Does it mean that Apple Intelligence in macOS and Apple productivity apps have something similar, since it's a desktop computer?
Yes it does, for me on an iPhone. And I suppose you are happy for your use case with Apple Intelligence, but that doesn't mean it's the best service.
Not on an iPhone, imo. But sure do what you want and what works for you.Other services works better and do a lot more than Apple Intelligence.
No it’s not free. You paid $1,200 for it.At least Apple Intelligence it's free. In this case, I suppose you get what you paid for.
I don't think teens have major issues with iPhones. But also don't think they have a perfect experience, with zero issues. They just go around the issues they have. At the end, it's a device that have the apps and services they need. That's good enough for them. This is the typical type of claptrap seen on these forums. People buy iphones not because they are good, but because they are the best of the worst. Along with people suffer in silence. The world suffers in silence with all of the issues on an iphone. I somehow tend to doubt it.
There are cases where cleaning did not solve the issues.I had those problems until I cleaned them and changed the tips and now no more issues. No crackling', no bad sound etc. If the airpods were as bad as all of that there would be a huge hue and cry on the internet. It wouldn't be some anecdotal opinions about suffering in silence.
Yes, AirPods integration is good. But it looks like you haven't tried other headphones, considering you think integration outweighs any probable small gain in quality. How do you got to that conclusion? Did you try other brands, like Sony, B&W or B&O?Quality is not something that thought of for example using airpods on a noisy Manhattan street. So you prefer the worst service with the best integration. Got it!And those services are inferior with integration to me.
Again, why keep up with tech you don't like?I do have an Android device sadly. And I like to keep up with tech.
The article already explains that teens prefer iPhone. But at the end is to use the apps and services they want and need, and not just to have an iPhone. They pick up iPhones bc they deem them better.
Using your logic then why don’t they pick up androids. Make it make sense
True, but I think you got my point.Again that’s irrelevant bc that’s not happening so you’re literally making a what if that doesn’t exist
Exactly! I had a Nokia with Windows Phone, and I thought it was better than the iPhone, until I found out the apps I needed were not being develop for WP, so I had to move to Apple again. My point is that young people purchase iPhones because they prefer them AND have the apps they need. iPhone without their apps will be useless. Then it would go the way the windows phone did.
Keep in mind Apple basically is the leader when it comes to app stores.
TikTok, Instagram, CoD, Minecraft, Fornite, Gmail / Outlook. How I don't know the demographic, when these are some of the most popular apps teens use?Yes they are lol bc it’s clear you don’t know the demographic you’re trying to make a point about
Because they prefer the iPhone AND have the apps and services they need? Then why pick an expensive iphone or hand me down over an almost free or inexpensive android device. I think you're way off base.
For some reason, I think that's your opinion. Maybe you should try asking your grandkids to see if they have the same response.Imessage and facetime.
Exactly, you think so. What about young people. Do they think the same as you about the apps I listed and iMessage and AirDrop? Based in the most popular apps in the App Store, don't think so.I think so. As well as airdrop and other apple ecosystem features and functions. One may have a sinister viewpoint in popular consumerism:
- best of the worst
- suffer in silence
and whatever else but Apple is likely making billions and this type of ownership will likely grow into adulthood. The bottom link no matter your view, Apple gets the revenue on the balance sheet.
That's why services revenue is bigger than the GDP of some countries. /s
Now I believe this is the mindset of the teen owning population.Because they prefer the iPhone AND have the apps and services they need?
I did. And they said facetime and games. For some reason, I think that's your opinion. Maybe you should try asking your grandkids to see if they have the same response.
How do you know the demographics of who buys the most popular apps in the app store?Exactly, you think so. What about young people. Do they think the same as you about the apps I listed and iMessage and AirDrop? Based in the most popular apps in the App Store, don't think so.
Is there some for consumer oriented, electronic, discretionary device on the face of the planet that has zero issues? It's just the majority don't suffer in silence as you are implying.I don't think teens have major issues with iPhones. But also don't think they have a perfect experience, with zero issues. They just go around the issues they have. At the end, it's a device that have the apps and services they need. That's good enough for them.
And there are cases where it did. When millions and millions of a discretionary oriented consumer electronic product is sold the issue rate is not zero. That doesn't mean the device is flawed or the majority of owners experienced some issue. It's a non-zero probability some devices will have issues that are either self-inflicted or defects. There are cases where cleaning did not solve the issues.
Anecdotal at best. No one is saying the issue rate is zero or there were not any manufacturing defects, but wholesale issues would be reported in the new.AirPods Pro Service Program for Sound Issues - Apple Support
AirPods Pro Service Program for Sound Issuessupport.apple.com
I am happy with the quality of my airpods. If I want "quality" I'll fire up my home theater or plug in a good set of wired headphones. There has to be a fantastic leap in quality, documented, easy to find to tear me away from my airpods. The features/functions are worth any criticism from MR posters about quality, considering they are close to the top of their game anyway.Yes, AirPods integration is good. But it looks like you haven't tried other headphones, considering you think integration outweighs any probable small gain in quality. How do you got to that conclusion? Did you try other brands, like Sony, B&W or B&O?
None of my third party devices support spotify connect, so it's not relevant to me. In fact, almost all third party devices support airplay. How many Samsung tvs support spotify connect?I'm an Apple Music subscriber because of sound quality, but Spotify Connects works better than AirPlay 2 with 3rd party devices.
Yes, but that is in about 10 hours and of course I can always plug my iphone into charge and that gives me twenty hours. For example, if I use my iPhone to stream to my receiver, it will drain my battery and stops playing when it goes off.
Like handoff to a homepod from an iphone.Compare that to Spotify Connect, where it connects the device directly to the service, and works separate for my iPhone.
It's great but such a small use case that the 10% use case does not become the 90% requirement. Mostly I just say to homepod: "hey siri, play chicago greatest hits". BOOM!Don't you think that's nice to have? Too bad AirPlay 2 only works that way with HomePods.
Do you think that Apple services growth is about Apple Music, Apple TV+, News, Apple Arcade and Apple Fitness+? The only service I think is very popular is the storage in iCloud, because there is no other option to backup Apple devices. A part from that, I haven't seen Apple being successful with the other services.Apple services each quarter grows so I’m confused as to why you think they’re failing just bc they aren’t getting Spotify’s market share.
What Apple services do teens use?American teens do you use Apple services though lol just not as much as Spotify Netflix or Hulu
I haven't seen many young people with Mac's or Apple Watch. Most of them prefer PC's, since it's a far better platform for gaming than Apple.Kids use AirPods. Kids use iPads. Kids use iPhones. Kids use Mac’s. Kids use Apple watch.
They all tie together perfectly so yes they care about their iPhone
Keep in mind this is also about Us teens.
They care about FaceTime and iMessage.
So yes they care about the iPhone.
Also what teen do you know that cares about Gmail or outlook lmao.
And Android apps are inferior quality to iOS apps. I know. I know. I used both
In the last 18 years Windows still ahead of macOS. Spotify still ahead of Apple Music. MS and Google services are still ahead of Apple services. Apple TV still behind gaming consoles. Sonos still ahead of HomePods. Your are right, looks like some things won't never change. If the last 18 years proves anything, I’m likely right.
But in reality is both, device and apps. Now I believe this is the mindset of the teen owning population.
So iMessage and AirDrop are out of the equation. What do you think they respond if they had to choose between FaceTime and Games? I'm sure what most teens will answer, and I think you too.I did. And they said facetime and games.
Using the same formula you use to say that iMessage, AirDrop and FaceTime are more important than TikTok, Instagram and games for young people. How do you know the demographics of who buys the most popular apps in the app store?
Worst for you. I love how you keep trying to tell me what’s good or worse for me. You’re hilarious. So you prefer the worst service with the best integration. Got it!
Because I like to be informed. I’m a bartender. I hate gin. I also keep up with the up to date gin cocktails.Again, why keep up with tech you don't like?
Okay and the reason why your logic makes ZERO SENSE and you’re literally flailing to make a point is if all they care about is the apps and services and they aren’t using Apple services according to you then why are they not buying androids? The article already explains that teens prefer iPhone. But at the end is to use the apps and services they want and need, and not just to have an iPhone
You have no point.True, but I think you got my point.
Windows phone was a better Ui but no Microsoft ecosystem was terrible. Not even in the app gate. Microsoft had no clear vision with their platform. I used windows phone 7 to 8 to 8.1 to 10.Exactly! I had a Nokia with Windows Phone, and I thought it was better than the iPhone, until I found out the apps I needed were not being develop for WP, so I had to move to Apple again. My point is that young people purchase iPhones because they prefer them AND have the apps they need. iPhone without their apps will be useless
TikTok, Instagram, CoD, Minecraft, Fornite, Gmail / Outlook. How I don't know the demographic, when these are some of the most popular apps teens use?
Hey it’s making them billions and making you guys complain about it bc your favorite platforms offer inferior productsYes Apple do love a good old monopoly
Apple services is not one thing lol. You keep picking and choosing. Apple fitness is popular due to the success of Apple Watch.Do you think that Apple services growth is about Apple Music, Apple TV+, News, Apple Arcade and Apple Fitness+? The only service I think is very popular is the storage in iCloud, because there is no other option to backup Apple devices. A part from that, I haven't seen Apple being successful with the other services.
Not Gmail and outlookWhat Apple services do teens use?
Yes bc teens only game, right? Again you don’t know the demographic.I haven't seen many young people with Mac's or Apple Watch. Most of them prefer PC's, since it's a far better platform for gaming than Apple
By using the default mail app?And yes, they do care about Gmail and Outlook. How do you think they receive communications from schools?
