High end Android ain't worth it, IMO.
High-end Android made me switch to an iPhone. So much more value for (potentially) even less money!
High end Android ain't worth it, IMO.
People still install roms? I see that most Android phones have unlockable bootloadersFixed that for ya. That's because android is a better value, especially the mid-range. You get 90% of the features of the flagship at 25-50% of the price. Custom ROM and it's better [IMO]; faster with no bloat.
High end Android ain't worth it, IMO. Maybe it's because I don't make my phone my whole identity.🤷♂️
I’m not shocked at all.
I rarely see a person under 20 with an android lol.
I always sigh when a guy asks for my number and it’s green 🤣😂 but it’s rare I come across android user now in my late 20s.
I was pleasantly shocked that in London so many ppl used iPhones and iMessage bc to hear Europeans say it was a dead app lmao.
I have yet to get my first spam message on WhatsApp and I have used it for almost 15 years. On iMessage I get spam every other month.Spam on WhatsApp? I have used it daily for about 5 years and only see the messages I send and receive. What do you get?
Samsung locked down their bootloader😠 tighter than the Pope's chastity belt, but the Chinese manufacturers still lets you unlock their bootloader. It's not as easy as decades past, but it's still possible.People still install roms? I see that most Android phones have unlockable bootloaders
You trade data harvesting for spam. It’s noteworthy that WhatsApp is the criminals choice of platform.I have yet to get my first spam message on WhatsApp and I have used it for almost 15 years. On iMessage I get spam every other month.
IMO, teens don’t care about what the persona of a typical MR poster cares about. It will be interesting to see if really good midrange Android phones like the OnePlus 13R, Google Pixel 9a and Samsung Galaxy A36/A56 will start to cut into iPhone sales.
It seems like some young people are stuck with devices they don't really like.Correct. Young people should only get some choices in life as you point out they are “young”. They get the hand me downs.
My family uses iPhones, iPads, AirPods, apple Watch, apple TV and Macs. I use windows.
It seems there is some subtext in your post against Apple being the go to. People like Apple products - what can I say.
This is why I think the Pixel 9a might actually be a good seller. And I believe WhatsApp and even Facebook Messenger have become popular as cross-platform communications packages regardless of phone model.IMO, teens don’t care about what the persona of a typical MR poster cares about.
So I think not. “Good phones” to the consumer are totally subjective.
No.It will be interesting to see if really good midrange Android phones like the OnePlus 13R, Google Pixel 9a and Samsung Galaxy A36/A56 will start to cut into iPhone sales.
This statment will always be true. It’s a bit of weasel wording as it really doesn’t disprove the forum thread title - even with “some” young people being stuck with devices they don’t like.It seems like some young people are stuck with devices they don't really like.
Yes, better, best is highly subjective. Most of my devices are from Apple, and I don't have anything against them. However, I've also worked with other devices and services, and I've noticed that some of them are actually as good, or better than what Apple offers.
Who’s debating, friend?Fantastic debating skills.
Right up there with "eeeeew green bubbles lmao"
Here in Europe nobody uses iMessage, the only messages I get there is spam. Everybody just uses WhatsApp. Same with Apples services, I never heard of anybody using Apple Music or even knowing what Apple TV+ is. Estimates say Apple has 4% video streaming marketshare in Germany which is hard to believe, I think it's maybe half that much.
At the end, it looks like the study highlights young people do not care about Apple devices, a part from the iPhone. And most of them use non-Apple services. Like I said before, Apple should care about this. This statment will always be true. It’s a bit of weasel wording as it really doesn’t disprove the forum thread title - even with “some” young people being stuck with devices they don’t like.
Agree.Yes, better, best is highly subjective.
I have never heard (both from selling devices and just bc I’m around that demographic) young people complain about their iPhones, Macs, iPads, AirPods etc etc lmao.It seems like some young people are stuck with devices they don't really like.

Except iPads are extremely popular. At the end, it looks like the study highlights young people do not care about Apple devices, a part from the iPhone. And most of them use non-Apple services. Like I said before, Apple should care about this.
Who’s debating, friend?
I forget people not liking green bibles is a sore topic for some people haha
I sometimes wonder if I still used Android would I care about iPhone users opinion on green bubbles?
Probably not. I did not care on the last 12 years I unfortunately used Android.
Oh. You must be quite famous to know everyone in Europe. I’m envious. I have a huge social media following myself and even idk everyone in the Us. Let alone my state.
That’s wild. Especially when estimates show that roughly 35 percent of people use iMessage in Uk.
Hmm.
As far as Apple Music goes, a quick search shows that while Spotify is the dominant platform of choice that Apple music is still in the second place. Germany itself is not the entirety of Europe.
Except iPads are extremely popular.
AirPods are extremely popular.
Apple Watches are popular.
Macs seem popular.
Apple Music has a 30
Percent market share here in Us affording to a quick search.
So…..here in the Us they have nothing to worry about.
Apple also outside of the Us isn’t the dominant player in most market but it is the most profitable player compared to its competitors.
So again nothing to worry about.
Just look at Mac vs windows.
Android sells way more iPhones yet Apple is more profitable.
Market share isn’t everything. And as of now Apple has nothing to worry about. And I don’t for see a time where people will start using Android in the states over iPhones as the majority.
That will be a nightmare
I have never heard (both from selling devices and just bc I’m around that demographic) young people complain about their iPhones, Macs, iPads, AirPods etc etc lmao.
I do often daily hear people complaining
About their galaxy and other Android devices.
That's EXACTLY the reason why users of older iPhones tend to trade to newer iPhone models. The familiarity of the user interaface (in general) upgrading to a new iPhone is a huge plus up upgraders. I mean, when I upgraded from my iPhone 12 to iPhone 16 Plus, the user interface was completely familiar to me already. You know what these people do like? Familiarity. Simplicity. Continuity.
The fact that you can go from an iPhone 11 to an iPhone 16 and it works and functions basically identically on the face of it, that’s a benefit to most people. That’s what people like.
I must say I’m not very familiar with the UK, but in Germany, pretty much no one uses iMessage. WhatsApp is the standard. When Facebook bought WhatsApp around 15 years ago, some people tried to switch to alternatives – mostly Threema – but out of the hundreds of people I know, not a single private or business contact ever asked me to move to iMessage. After a few months, most people just went back to WhatsApp because too few made the switch.Who’s debating, friend?

You must really want my attention lol.Honestly I hope your spelling and grammar are better than this at school. You aren't using Apple Intelligence writing tools are you?
Pretty sure this was about the Us so no the point does not stand.Apple Music has only around 10% market share in Germany, and about 11% in France. So since this thread was comparing Apple’s popularity in phones and services, I think the point still stands.
Never said it wasn’t.Hmmmm. This sounds very very anecdotal.
Oh it is. Partially bc I don’t care enough about this conversation to go back and edit bc I’m failing to see why we are still conversing and partially bc I was deep in my vacation (aka a manhattan and Negroni). My apologies.Honestly I hope your spelling and grammar are better than this at school.
I'm going to be blunt, you need some self-reflection if you care that much about what other people are buying. Are you guys all okay over there?I’m not shocked at all.
I rarely see a person under 20 with an android lol.

No documentation on hand, but monitor your network traffic or set up a local streaming service. There may be cached packets that stream from the publisher device to the receiver depending on the stream type, but when possible, they avoid using the publisher device as a rendering server. This maybe faulty intuition on my part because I don’t have a third party AirPlay 2 device to test with, but one example that I find hard to explain otherwise is casting YoutubeMusic initially from iPhone to home tv+homepod setup, using apple watch for playback controls while phone charges, phone installs updates without playback disruption. I don’t know how this would be possible if the phone was still actively pushing packets over the air.I couldn't find any documentation or information showing that AirPlay 2 works the way you described. Could you share a link?
I don’t care lol. I do encourage people I know to get iPhones but i genuinely couldn’t care less what you’re using. Your money to waste is all I say.I'm going to be blunt, you need some self-reflection if you care that much about what other people are buying. Are you guys all okay over there?
Please tell me how someone buying an iPhone is different than buying an android other than Os preference? Most people are buying iphones because phone ownership is still being treated as something incredibly personal
My soul was already lost long before birth 🤣😂even though we all know at this point how big tech is basically selling everyone's soul.
Never said they were the best for everyone but the ecosystem certainly is stronger than Android lmao. That and it's what they grew up with, it's not like they're the best phones on the market.
Personal attack I’ll ignore. Your feelings are valid.edit: Scorpio Vega you are genuinely one of the most deluded and out of touch tech fans I've seen in quite some time.
And apple still makes more profit on Macs than most other OEMs. Which was my point.Macs are experiencing sharp drops after the covid spike because people don't need to upgrade every two years but you know damn well they want you to upgrade your laptop every year if possible
And maybe ipads are cool among the tech-obssessed crowd but current versions have some of the worst ROI known to man because apple doesn't know what to do with them.
No we aren’t.The apple crowd is in shambles because people realized you can get a $200 tablet that does the same thing, this is different from Macs and iPhones where they have reasons to be bought at higher prices.
Got catch ‘em all.Your social media following is as relevant as my pokemon skills.
Never said it was a flex but it certainly is fun for meThankfully some people like me for example have grown past a certain age, which means we know having more Instagram followers is not the flex you think it is
I mean I’m not that paranoid. So that’s fine.especially when you're giving big tech more opportunities to sell your data,
I mean to be fair, I’m successful without anything social media related lol.Flexing yourself over iMessage exposes many things wrong with American exceptionalism. Of course you're gonna be successful with celebrity endorsements.
I've noticed ...
They roam around the malls in the Seattle area, heads down, nearly walking into walls and other people.
We've created a society of ADHD plagued, depressed, device addicted, know very little, TikTok subsumed zombies.
