The color pink is associated with being feminine no matter how you guys defend it. It's been like that since forever. However, I do think that if you like the color, just buy it.

The real problem is that this isn't really rose gold, it's pink.

I can't wait for the looks and comments I get when I sport my new rose gold iPhone 6S Plus. While I won't deny its pinkish hue will likely be more popular with women, I think it has the potential to hopefully weaken the stereotype. There's certainly a distinction between a child or teen's item that is pink and an iPhone that has a pinkish hue. Apple wants their products to be fashionable, like a pink suit can be fashionable on a man.

That said, I normally only keep my phones for a period of 6 months or so at most, so after that my wife will likely appreciate the "pink" iPhone when I pass it down to her. ;-)

Rose gold is a pinkish gold due to the amount of copper added, usually 50%. I doubt there is any of that in the iPhone but it's pretty close to the correct colour from what I have seen. It's certainly not shocking pink or even powder pink.

I agree with what you've stated although I also think that whatever the apple is trying to emulate it should be more on the copper/reddish/brownish side. This is definitely more on the pink side.

It could just be that the iPhone is presented in a mate rose gold color which is throwing it off.

Purple is traditionally the color worn by kings.
We have lots of Kings in America right? Come on people, if you are going to keep quoting my old posts at least finish reading where I refer to America.

Actually (and rather surprisingly) it hasn't.

"Many have noted the contrary association of pink with boys in 20th-century America. An article in the trade publication Earnshaw's Infants' Department in June 1918 said:

The generally accepted rule is pink for the boys, and blue for the girls. The reason is that pink, being a more decided and stronger color, is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl."

The real problem is that this isn't really rose gold, it's pink.

I expected a sort of coppery colour, just like most real life rose gold.

Somebody put up some jewellery pictures recently, and except for one pinkish exception, they're all that coppery, deep reddish colour.

The rose gold I have seen, it is more coppery and less pink.

But of course, just like regular gold, I am sure there is a range of 10k - 22k "rose" gold with slightly different ranges of colour, some more pinkish, and some more coppery.

Yeah man. Kills it for me too. Same as on the gold one.
I lived with a silver iPhone for a year, and a gold iPad Air 2 now.

It does make a difference with heavy use. The black surround is a little better all around compromise, especially for movies.

IMHO, of course.

I agree.

There's a reason they don't make white tvs.

It's not for me.

I hope next year we get gold back with a black face.. No need to have 3 white face iPhones and only 1 black one.. Unless they come out with a new metal colour.

Dude. You are a sexist waste of space. IN AMERICA.
Dude you need to get over it, all I said was that in most of America you typically only see females wearing pink, and if you get a pink iPhone you would expect to see few males with them. I never said males shouldn't get them or this is how I felt.

I love how there are so many insecure (and immature) people that they have buy a specific color phone just to show people "look at how special I am... I got the newest, most up-to-date iphone."

I seriously don't give a crap who knows my phone is newest or not... I'm buying it for ME.

And you're still wrong. IN AMERICA.

Sometimes rose gold has up to 10% zinc content as well so this can affect the tone of colour. Just depends how much the manufacturer decides to put in I suppose. :)
