It's not- it's an awesome school. There are some great schools in Pitt. That's the joke. :)

I've heard about that rumor.... I don't remember where..... I don't think it'll happen just yet since the Pens were involved in this season's outdoor game. I think the NHL is focusing on Toronto or Montreal for the upcoming season.

I started the joke :p I shouldve put a diff smiley face there lol

I heard next year's winter classic will be at new York, I forget where I heard that though....

Looks like the Habs are going with Price for Saturday night, TDD. I don't know man, that may be a risky call by Carbs.

Although, it's the politically safe call:
If he goes with Halak, and they lose, everyone would be on him for not starting Price.
If he goes with Price, and they lose, he can just say, "What? I went with my starting goalie. You can't win 'em all"
If he goes with Price, and they win, he looks like a genius.

You know it's sad, but oh so true. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Though I do think option 2 would go something like this:

Start Price, Lose, I put my best guy at there, Why didn't you start Halak?

Either way the season would be considered a failure for the Habs for not making it to the Finals.

Les Habitants turn 100 next season. Scary.

Anybody else with me that Morrow was absolutely jobbed by the replay officials on the disallowed 2nd period goal? This game should have ended 3-2 Dallas in regulation, but instead is now going to OT.

And then they lose barely a minute into OT...pathetic.

I didn't see the game, but I am very disappointed that the D* lost in the first minute of OT.

Here's for a close out in Dallas.

I heard next year's winter classic will be at new York, I forget where I heard that though....

You've heard that from every major media source possible. ESPN was all over that.

It's Rangers vs TBA. I'm still hoping for some love for Islanders fans. That would be an epic outdoor matchup inside The Cathedral™ (Yankee Stadium).

Regardless, I'll still go just so I can abuse Rangers Fans. :D

Yeah, that's pretty much what I meant for option 2. Carbs doesn't have to worry about his job security anyway, regardless of what happens.

I don't think that the season would be considered a failure if they don't make it to the finals. They didn't expect to be this good this fast. Gainey's plan wasn't supposed to work this quickly for them. I think right now they're in bonus mode.

That's right, I forgot about the Yankees Stadium thing. I remember seeing reports about that. If it happens, isn't it supposed to be the very last event to be held at Yankee Stadium? That would be kind of funny- the last event at The House That Ruth Built is a hockey game.

Habs played a great season. It hurts to see them go.

I hope there arn't any riots this time.

There are always riots.

Na na na naaaaaaaaaaaaa na na na naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa heeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy goodbye.

Flyers 6
Habs 4

We are just about all setup for The Battle of Pennsylvania!

EDIT: Surely... it looks like we got our Option 2. Should've went with Halak. 3 for 3 regarding goaltending decisions!

TDD: did you watch the game? the score doesn't reflect Price's saves. Did you see the 2nd period when it was 3-1 before Philly got that fluke goal and turned the tide? Price stood on his head. It was a good decision by Carbo.

Full props to Philly for bringing it. They didn't give up.

btw, this has been a great thread. It's nice to see American hockey fans b/c the NHL keeps trying to grow it, but the coverage still sucks in the southern states. I hope more Americans grow to love the sport and to support it. It's about the only that isn't ridden with criminals and it's probably the fastest sport. Some say football is more 'violent', but I think a guy skating and pounding you into the boards is pretty violent :)

The sad thing about the Habs losing is that I honestly don't give a flying monkey a$$ who wins. I can't see Philly beating the Pens, but then again...I didn't think they'd beat mes habitants.

To mourning I go :)

No, I didn't get to watch said game. I still think they should've started Halak regardless. He was fantastic in Game 4 and you know it.

The Flyers are on fire right now. I honestly didn't see this coming.

This has been a successful thread thus far.... even if you took out my 150ish posts. I is post whore and hockey fanatic.

Coverage of hockey in general in the US sucks. Versus isn't exactly what I'd call a premier channel and NBC is meh. I do wish, like you, that more Americans followed this fantastical sport. There aren't a lot of commercials and it is the fastest and hard hitting (harder than football) game there is.

You have my condolences, see you on the golf course.

You're damn right we were right. Halak can go home feeling pretty damn good about himself. Lucky tie my ass.

I watched the game. I didn't think that Price stood on his head. He made some very good saves, but I wouldn't describe it as head-standing. He was very good though, tough break for the kid. There's always next year and probably the next 15-20 yrs to make up for it. The defense really blew up this game for the Habs.

I'm not even going to touch your Americans aren't good hockey fans paragraph.

When you say that you "don't give a flying monkey a$$ who wins.", do you mean that you're done watching hockey for the season?

Agreed, as stated above, Halak should have started.

Coverage here does suck during the season, but I've been able to see almost every playoff game I've wanted to while living in LA. So it could be worse...

Oh yeah...... Umberger is a Hab killer. 8 goals this series! Wow!

Anyway, off for some sushi and drinks..... I'm really starting to like this Pacific time zone..... watch the game and still have time to go out....

You're damn right we were right. Halak can go home feeling pretty damn good about himself. Lucky tie my ass.

I'm telling you we should be coaches lol. Lucky tie? <insert jerk-off smilie here>

I'm not even going to touch your Americans aren't good hockey fans paragraph.

Most Americans aren't. If you take away the hardcore fans, there wouldn't be many hockey fans at all. Most don't appreciate the game and the sacrifice that goes into day in and day out. It is one of the most, if not the most, physically demanding sports.

When you say that you "don't give a flying monkey a$$ who wins.", do you mean that you're done watching hockey for the season?

No excuses there. How can you not watch the playoffs?

That will certainly be in tomorrow's newspaper. Might be a headline....

Try living in NY. 3 hockey teams (Rags, Isles and Devils) 2 channels. Rags get MSG and Isles and Devils split MSG+ If you're the odd team out (95% of the time that's the Isles) you're get put on the what's on TV channel and no HD. It makes me extraordinarily angry.

Enjoy your sushi and booze, lucky bastard.

There has to be a sports bar/restaurant up there...I was just in Indiana recently, but I didn't see anything.

Not many good schools?! What About Duquesne, Pitt, St. Vincent, or that place called CMU :p

But I hear, yeah...it must stink not being able to see any of the games, do you have a car? You could always take a trip to the Primantis in Greensburg (prob about 40 min away), which is where I'll most likely be...

Eh no car this semester, so that really sucked however I will have one in the fall.

And just to clear the air, Duquesne doesn't have a HR management degree, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to go into PR as a major (minor yes). Plus I believe I will be going there for Grad School.

Pitt I didn't like at all, and I checked it throughly I have friend there that are older so I was around campus a lot, just thought it wasn't very nice.

Honestly never heard of St. Vincent.

CMU is a sore subject.. I missed SAT requirement by like 20 points.

Plus I do not get any finical aid, which really sucks because I am a white male, that comes from a family where both parents work. And no one wanted to pay for me to play hockey. I got accepted to the Michigan Wolverines however, I couldn't afford the price (Pitt is probably the max I could afford, however I didn't like the university), though the school seems to think I can. So I didn't accept them. So I had to go to a smaller public school >_<, and that left the small ones nearer to my area.

1. Indeed. We're just making the right calls left, right, and center (I still prefer centre, but am getting used to Ameri-English). :D

2. True that most Americans aren't fans. But many Canadians are fans of their team first, and of hockey second. Once their team is done, they don't watch anymore (although many do watch). Or they don't give a flying monkey a$$.

3. No headline, but I've seen some comments about it.

4. That sucks. Try living in Southern Ontario, a region that COULD support 3 NHL teams but only has one. I'd rather have had your problem. The Isles should have more attention in your area than the Devils IMO. NJ plays such a boring brand of hockey- I would guess that their ratings aren't too high.

Sushi and drinks were good. Fun fun.

NA NA NA NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA NA NA NA NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY GOOODBYE!!!!

The Battle of Pennsylvania begins!

Holy craziness!!! I was sooo mad when we gave up that 2-0 lead, that sucked big time. At least we prevailed, haha....

What a series coming up....its going to be a blood bath, Philly better watch out for big Laraque :D *hides from Philly fans*

I refuse to make a prediction as I really think this series can go either way...

No matter what happens, I will still be waiting for that 3g iphone  haha

I'm a Sharks fan. The Sharks and Stars are tied 1-1, but after the end of OT2, there still isn't a winner... We will see. :)

Gotta love these long OT games! Great game, fast paced, lots of chances.

At this point, we're in 3OT with 3 minutes to go in the period.

EDIT: End of 3OT- intermission time, waiting for 4OT to begin. Crazy crazy.

EDIT2: Game over for the Sharks. Brenden Morrow with the beautiful deflection to win it in the 4th OT.

Good job Pens, bye bye Rangers. X-Mas came early for TDD this year.

The Battle for Pennsylvania should be awesome! The games will be close, and there will probably be a couple of OT games, but my prediction is Pittsburgh in 6.

The matchups have been set:

Dallas vs. Detroit, game 1 on Thursday.

Philadelphia vs. Pittsburgh, game 1 on Friday.

It was quite fitting after the events in Game 5 that Brenden Morrow scored the series clincher in the 4th OT of Game 6. What a great game and a great series.

I didn't say Americans weren't good fans - I was saying there isn't enough of them for whatever reason.

And no, i'm not done watching hockey - I just don't care who wins now. I watched the dallas-Sj game last night, falling asleep into the 3rd OT.

I'm still a hard core fan. :) That hit by Morrow, I think i felt it here in Canada. That was huge.

hey, is this another shot at me? damn leaf fan! :) it's been 41 years eh? :) lol as I tell my leaf buddies - yes, my Habs are out and i'm sad, but "the streak" properly continues to 41 years so all is well. The habs could go 0-82, but as long as the Leafs don't win the cup (even if they have another conference finals 'doug gilmour penalty' chance), life is good and back to normal :)

I'm glad I didn't stay up to watch that game, I don't think I would've made into work!

I can't wait to see the replay of this bad boy goal.

TDD loves when the Rangers get eliminated! Speaking of that, where are all the Rags fans? Suddenly so slient...

TDD Says:

Pens in 7
Stars in 7

GO HABS GO!

Your season ended! Are you hoping they do well on the golf course or something?

GOLF HABS GOLF!

^^^Fixed that for you.:D

Also, don't forget:

RIOT HABS FANS RIOT.

That's kinda sad that you would rather the Leafs lose than the Habs win. It must be due to the bitter Montreal winters and the fear of the language police and separation. Or maybe it's because the Forum is now an AMC and a comedy club.

Good luck next year- the Habs should be even better, unless Price and this past season were just a flash in the pan.
