Here's an interesting article on WSJ.com

Good find. Well written. It's nice to see a positive piece about the NHL.

I'm looking forward to seeing Grapes in Sportscenter!

No one wanted to play my "who will score the winner game."? Boo-urns.....

Oh yeah.... are you planning on responding to my post about the Leafs, Mr. Keebler? I've been patiently waiting for a rebuttal. :)

Thank you. I thought it was pretty good too. Mr. Canada™ should be very entertaining on SC, alas though most of America will be like ummm what?

Wings over the D* 4-1 last night. I didn't get to watch the game as I was at a concert.

That was not the Dallas Stars of the last two series in the 4-1 loss last night. Fatigue perhaps?
You gotta bring it to win it.
Lets go Stars.

stars just never really pulled it together last night...i hope the flyers do a decent job against the penguins tonight though...although i have a daunting feeling they're going to get smashed.

You didn't miss much. I only watched the first period and then had stuff to do. I was pretty surprised at D*'s effort and Detroit's dominance. I hope they can regroup and make this a more entertaining series- otherwise it's going to be quite the stinker.

What concert did you go to?

Fatigue is a good guess. I can't imagine they were intimidated considering they took out Anaheim and San Jose.

I hope not- at least let this series be entertaining. I hope it lives up to the hype.

Third Eye Blind at Mulchay's. Sheer awesomeness.

Third Eye Blind?!?!?!?!?! They are my most favorite band EVER!!! Did Jenkins say anything about the upcoming 4th album, "Ursa Major" (I think that is what its called)?

How about them Pens! :D

I'm glad I didn't stay up to watch that game, I don't think I would've made into work!

I can't wait to see the replay of this bad boy goal.

TDD loves when the Rangers get eliminated! Speaking of that, where are all the Rags fans? Suddenly so slient...

TDD Says:

Pens in 7
Stars in 7

Your season ended! Are you hoping they do well on the golf course or something?

Busy with tons of school work et al, and steering clear for a while as to not be a sore loser, I stayed off the forum for a little while.

I'll keep all comments from that last game to myself. However I would just like to remind you that your season ended a month and a half before ours. Oh yeah and by this point, DP is about 4 strokes over par.

Pens beat Flyers, Wings beat Stars. Wings sweep Pens, Bettman freaks out, Crosby cries, and all of the hockey world (sans Pittsburgh) love it. That's my outlook on the rest of the season. Call me a sore loser for wanting to see the Penguins take the hardest fall possible, but I want to see it.

Some say hey, if they beat us, then I want them to win the championship, so we can say we lost to the champions. I say, take them down hard, retribution is sweet.

That's what I thought. We don't want a stinker as a series.

Third Eye Blind at Mulchay's. Sheer awesomeness.

Heard about that.

:D I loves me some 3EB. The show at Mulchay's was the last of the tour. They returned to San Francisco to record the 4th album which is called Ursa Major. They played a bunch of new songs from the album, they sound awesome (as expected).

Thank you Pens!!! 4-2 last night over the Fly Guys.

Hope that finals and all that jazz went well for you and everyone else that had school

Regardless, your season still ended and you're on the green with the rest of us. The Rags were projected to go to the Cup Finals. I'm sure DP is more than 4 strokes over par.

See my post above regarding 3EB. :D

Well the two favorites win the first one. Will my Stars get it together? Can Philly?
We can only hope for two, seven-game series classics. Wouldn't that shut up those lousy NBA (babies) playoffs.;)

I hope that they are competitive and entertaining series. Yesterday's Pens/Philly game was pretty good.

Two 7 game series would be fantastic.

Wow, Franzen is out with concussion-like symptoms. That's a huge blow to the Red Wings. That may change the dynamic of that series a bit. (BTW, he scored the game-winning goal last game :D)

mike ribereo is a dumbass

Agreed. What the hell was he thinking? Was he actually trying to slash Osgood or was he trying to smash his stick on the net? Did he think he would get away with it? It's not like there are any cameras around:rolleyes:. Either way, what a 'tard.

D* is in trouble. They need to find a way to score more goals. Turco kept them in the game but he can't do it all.

Today's Pens/Flyers game should be good. Game 1 was entertaining. Hopefully I'll be able to watch some of it.

I haven't seen Donald S. Cherry on Sportscenter yet. Has anyone seen it? I guess I'll see if I can find it online..... That was easy- here it is: Grapes

I have heard several analysis saying that osgood provoked him and that if Ribeerro gets suspended so should osgood. I say that even if osgood provoked him that gives riberro no right to do what he did. Retaliation is never warranted no matter what.

As for the penguins flyers, I really hope the Pens win-that team and city deserves to get to the finals

EDIT- both players fined, no suspension

It's still goin', but thanks. I'm actually considering finding the nicest golf course in the area and seeing if I can find an Isle or a Ranger.

The sharks were picked too, and they fell off as hard as the Rangers lol. Just goes to show you what those predictions really mean lol.

Another win for Detroit, and another 4 to 2 win for the Pens. Let's go wings!

I haven't listened to a new 3EB song since Semi Charmed was new lol. But I hear their new stuff is just as great as their old stuff.

"Go home flyers, Go home flyers" :D

We're too much for the old, slow defense of Hatcher

Lets see if the D* can turn it around.....we'll see, I hope they do!

Yeah hatcher is an idiot, he's gotta go back to basics...but mind you timonen is out and he's probably one of our best defenders.

More than anything flyers need to get a good offense going, they're really lacking there.

coolio - had to search 'red wings' to find this thread. the 2nd intermission is just about over. i'm a wings fan but i'm quite surprised with how well the stars came out the gate. NOW its a conference finals game!

pens fan here.

lots to like this season for us, huh? as a displaced pittsburgher, i'm filled with pride to hear about the season-long sellout and to see the support the team's gotten. could you imagine this team playing in kansas city or vegas or hamilton?

not to overstate the obvious, but philly's got their backs to the wall. tough breaks on the timonen and coburn injuries.

pens and wings fans!

hey! i went to school in pittsburgh! in 1998 i went to more pens games then watching wings games on tv. me and a few friends would walk across 7th street bridge to the (then) civic center. you can't beat those student rush prices! ;)

well it looks like i spoke too soon about the stars resurge. what the stars just saw is the wings' 3rd period lock down. they've learned how to fight out of the boards after they lost to edmonton 2 years ago and they've learned that they needed to be more physical in last years playoffs. this year they've learned (against nashville) that they can't sleep in the 3rd period.

watching these guys is amazing but how long can they keep it up? 9 wins in a row? unbelievable!

The buck stopped there. I hear he's a real arrogant guy. He doesn't take the blame when things go wrong and typically makes excuses. I heard this in an interview on Hockeycentral last week, when they were talking about how he was going to be fired.

Hamilton.....yes, I could imagine the team playing there. But not anymore. The opportunity for the Pens to move has passed. It's good to see a strong hockey team in Pittsburgh. It's a great city, with a strong hockey history, and they deserve a great team. Hopefully Hamilton gets a team sometime soon, but not with Bettman running this circus.

Philly's definitely in a lot of trouble. It'll take a miracle for them to win this series.

D* what are you doing?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Down 0-3 in the series! :(

D* is over my friend. WTH happened to them? I did NOT expect that.

This round is just like the last one, eh?

D* what are you doing?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Down 0-3 in the series! :(

i'm disappointed in my stars. i thought they would at least put up a fight, but it looks like we'll have to start thinking about next year since the chances of coming back from 0-3 are close to zero.

go pens/flyers!!! there is no way i'm cheering for the red wings to get their slimey hands on that trophy again.
