I'm totally ignoring the bulk of your post.

I have an easy an answer for you: HELLS NO!

Words can't describe this team. It's pathetic. They're just a bunch of underachievers. We'll see what happens when Free Agency starts, but nobody in their right mind would come to the Island. I mean Ryan Smyth took less money to play for the Avs.

If that doesn't scream something is wrong, I don't know what does.

Well thank you very much :eek:. Hopefully someone will take a look at the "bulk" of my post (#750) and give their opinion.

Yeah, you guys have got some serious problems to iron out. Unfortunately, it will take some time to work out.

Players choose to not come to Toronto as well, but it's because of all the media scrutiny. If you don't have the spine to handle a crapload of media before and after each game (even after playing teams like Columbus or Florida), Toronto is a very difficult place to play in.

Potential GMs don't want to come to Toronto either because of the lack of freedom to run the team independently of the ownership/board of directors. There have been plenty of "no thank you's" from potential candidates, and I'll bet that some of the guys that would have required permission from their teams to talk to Toronto told their teams not to bother granting said permission. The ownership/management structure is a mess, and it will take a very specific type of person to fix it. Is it Brian Burke? I'm not convinced yet.

Wait a sec- aren't all the threads on MR supposed to be about tomorrow's new iPhone? Are we breaking some sort of rule here? Uh-oh..... :D

Time is not a luxury we have here. If the lighthouse deal falls through, we'll probably be gone.

I don't know what it is about your Leafs management man. It might be worse than the Islanders. But the jury is still out on that one. The GM is the one that should be in charge of making personnel decisions and nobody else. That's his purpose. Let the people above him worry about ticket sales and the other aspects of the club.

No. If you were posting this tomorrow after Teh Jobs speec, you'd be in trouble.

My day will most likely consist of hitting the report post button multiple times over. That's what I did on the original iPhone release night. Pretty miserable.

With that said, everyone should help out the mods tomorrow and the upcoming days. It's gonna be a damned shiz show.

I know. It would be a damn shame if the deal falls through.

I'll be at work, checking this site on my still-relevant-still-cool-as-all-hell-1st-generation-iPhone during the keynote as often as I can. I'm more excited about the App Store than anything else TBH. Hopefully my morning won't be too crazy and I'll have time to follow the happenings.

I'll be helping out with the post-editing when and if I can.....

Same here I have my first accounting test of the summer online so I don't know how much I'll pay attention to the forums but I'll help.

I want the new iPhone, because I don't have a first gen :p and the Blackberry data plan is too expensive for a college kid like me.

Why does this not surprise me. It is detroit after all.

The Stanley Cup is OK after taking a tumble during the Red Wings' celebrations in Detroit. NHL spokeswoman Bernadette Mansur says Saturday the Cup got a slight dent Friday after some players took the trophy to Cheli's Chili Bar, a downtown restaurant owned by Red Wings defenseman Chris Chelios. Mansur says dent was smoothed out, and the trophy was expected to keep making the rounds.

That actually made "front page" news in sport section of Newsday. I did indeed vomit, a lot. Then proceeded to curse relentlessly under my breath.

As a season ticket holder, I'm pretty sure I do have the right to have a bear viciously and violently sodomize Garth Snow.

I like the way you think. I must admit, that would be epic to see. :D

Great article, BD hit the nail right on the head. It truly is a slap in a face to all the hardcore dedicated Isles fans. The Isles have been working so hard to improve their image and get more people into the coliseum, but this would effectively eliminated all of it.

I gotta find a way to buy the damn franchise lol.

Only a couple more weeks until July 1- it'll be interesting to see which players avoid signing with our respective teams, and which ones get overpaid to sign with our teams.

Everyone will avoid the Islanders.
The Islanders will overpay Yashin to come back.
TDD goes on a murderous rampage.

<repeat for Surely, except change team to Leafs and overpay to Sundin>

Isles draft party is this Friday night, I'll see first hand how bad we'll jack up our pick.
