It seems Everton want their goalkeepers to blend into the scenery next season. :D

Wow. That's actually not too unattractive as far as Everton shirts go.

However, the San Diego Padres beat them to the camo punch some years back:

Like the home shirt. As for the keeper jersey, I suppose it depends on how you feel about camo.

I heard as well that they sweetened the deal with a couple of loanees, including bald youngster Jonjo Shelvey.

...and Stephen Darby apparently. Though, I jut saw an article on the guardian that refutes the loan sweetener rumor. Sorry Fuzzy, I still think Adam looks like he's over 40. ;)

In perhaps less wonderful news, Glen Johnson will be bombing forward and failing to defend for several more seasons at Anfield after signing a contract extension.

Sashgate, then Brown and O'Shea :( Brown looked okay, O'Shea a tad slow, I guess the time had come, thanks - it'll be strange to begin with. Tigers and Black Cats, who next?

Couldn't let mention of Jonjo Shelvey go without a picture of him in his early days:

Cheers,
OW

1430: BREAKING FOOTBALL - Sven-Goran Eriksson tells BBC Sport he is keen to speak to former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves about a possible move to Leicester, but cannot get hold of him

Rumour has it his legs gave way while running down the stairs to answer the phone ;)

Gah! I don't generally look forward to pre-season friendlies (except of course our annual trip to non-League Bridlington Town) but I was rather looking forward to the visit of Dutch giants Feyenoord to the KC.

However, I read this morning that the police have cancelled the match as they can't be arsed with it. Gah again.

C'mon, girls. :)

EDIT: Bloody hell, girls. :(

My condolences. England and penalties....

USA have booked themselves a tough quarterfinal against Brazil after losing to Sweden.

Surprised to see Germany lose; I thought they were absolutely battering Japan but just couldn't find a final ball.

Jimmy will just want to go where he can play football. For Jimmy, it's all about the football.

My understanding is that QPR have enquired about taking Bullard on a season-long loan, we're open to the suggestion but would need his wages to be paid in full. That potentially is the sticking point.

Anyway, you all know my feelings towards QPR. They and Jimmy are well suited...

USA are through to the semifinals after beating Brazil 5-3 on pens in a dramatic match after drawing 2-2 through extra time (with our equalizer coming in the 122nd minute!). This match had it all: own goal, red card, dramatic comebacks, super-late equalizers, saved penalties, missed penalties, bad calls.

The game was so exiting that the Germans were chanting "USA!"

Anyway, you all know my feelings towards QPR. They and Jimmy are well suited...

Let's hope they get together then. Match made in heaven. :D

Shocking news! Arsenal have spent money- and on a full-grown adult player! If Nasri/Fab can be kept hold of the Gunners should be incredible to watch going forward this year!

(And if Alumina does go, and Clichy regrettably having to be replaced then we could be seeing Arsenal... no, no, had plenty of time to learn that one;)) I love this time of year! Although nowt's been played, the turmoil of perceptions' just like the season's end.:D

edit:
Meanwhile, Hearts have finally got shut of Craig Thomson.

Mmm, hardly a surprise. Although clubs do seem to put up with what'd be a sackable offence anywhere else, I can't really imagine a more untenable position. That quote though: "I have reviewed all the facts of his case and understand he has done a wrong thing" Vladimir Romanov. Yes, well...

Where's the shock? He speaks French! Typical Wenger .. Arsenal need a 20+ marksman and so Whinger buys a "15 in France" goal scorer. That the equivalent of 7-10 in the EPL. Defoe for 5 or 10 million (depending on news item) would have been my choice. A further setback to Walcott too as his time on the wing is so evidently a waste of his talents. I thought this would be the season where he became an out and out striker.

And if anyone with £1m to spare wants a piece of footballing history, Sheffield FC are selling off the first football rulebook

I wonder if it includes rules about shirt pulling and diving ;)

I also wonder if abusing the referee was dealt with by ' a clip round t'lug oil' :D

Y'know, I love how Arsenal's goals can come from anyone- although I agree that Walcott isn't at his full potential yet (but it was Wenger who moulded Henry into a striker, so'll be a little more patient;))
But yes, we've had mixed luck with our transfers from the French league recently; I've thought for a while now that Eto'o would be perfect for the Gunners- winner, workhorse, and A1++ talent. He did stunning work at Inter- so much class over the whole of the pitch, and it'd be a joy to watch him play every week in the league. Shame it'll never happen though... Still, its great to hear some positive news for a change and not the same old Nasri/Fabregas doommongering!
