Yep. Ramsey, Walcott, Koscielny were awful yesterday.. van Persie was the sole reason we won. Clueless....

Also, Jaffa, I always subconsciously keep an eye open for Hull's results... you must be pretty pleased with things at the moment. Optimistic about playoffs, or is the Premiership something best avoided?!

To be fair, without his goals, you'd have lost that game. And Koscielny's been a liability in almost every other game of the season, I'm sure he'll be back to it next week. I wouldn't let one game influence my opinion of him being anything other than complete turd.

Still, he's better than Jonny Evans.

Actually he and Vermaelen (if he stays fit) may turn out to be our best defensive pairing this season. Kos has been immense in virtually every game since the Blackburn match and is currently our best defender.

So Rangers have now gone 9 points clear at the top from the second team, Motherwell. Yes, Motherwell. Stuart McColl has done wonders with them, team of the season so far. Rangers are also 12 points clear of Celtic and sadly it looks like Neil Lennon's coat may be hanging on a shaky nail. But I'm not gloating over it, the league has not been won, not by a long margin.

The current rumours surrounding Ibrox are to do with money owed to the tax man by the previous owner, about £2m, and another £1m owed to other ex-directors. One way to get out of paying this money (and screwing UK tax payers) is to put the club into administration, the debtors only get a small %age of their original money back then the current millionaire owner can buy the company back for a pittance. Of course putting the club in administration would mean a 10 point penalty... putting Motherwell top of the league! Hence the league still has a long way to go.

Fuzzy, I was reading something the other day that suggested that Rangers might be in for a 25 point deduction if they have to start a new Plc. Was that bull plop?

It was a dreadful performance from the Crew. Oh well, on to next season...we need to revamp our strikeforce in the off season.

Must've been poor; set to record the game and the cable company decided to show some blokes called Rangers and Cardinals playing rounders. Sadly the solution to your strikeforce woes, Nile Ranger, has been charged with being D & D.

Congratulations to a future Manchester United manager:

Weekend - good to see Terry learn from other England players; Walcott falls, goal, Terry falls, goal. :) Fair play to Walcott, sounds like he had a good game.

Nigel Pearson off to Leicester City?

Cheers,

The rumour has been doing the rounds, based off little more than he used to be their manager. He was asked about it after the game on Saturday, and just said that there was nothing worth commenting on with regards to the speculation.

We're quite happy with him, and he seems happy here and with the team he's building.

I heard that too but nobody has found any evidence to back it up so far unless my peers in here know otherwise? I've also heard of a European ban for 3 seasons (probably nullifying the savings from screwing the taxman) but again don't know if this is just mischievous rumours...

Matches always get bumped in favor of other sports here...the USA-Honduras match was bumped from ESPN2 to ESPN3 at the last minute because a Little League match was running late on ESPN2.

Little League.

In truth, Jimmy Bullard already seems a distant memory. ;)

How big is Little League? College Football is nuts compared to sport in the UK - stadium size, number of supporters, bands...

Cheers,
OW

Part of it, I think, is that not as many people get ESPN 3 on their cable systems. The Little League World Series gets better ratings than most soccer games here, so ESPN wouldn't want to switch the LL game to ESPN 3 where some people might not be able to see the end of the game. Far more people would call to complain about that than those who miss the start of a soccer match. That's especially true when you consider that the people who really care about soccer have to get all the smaller sport channels to see the games, compared to many LL fans who only get basic cable. In the end, ESPN is always going to do what makes them more money and annoys fewer viewers.

It's pretty humbling to think that soccer has such a low status here. In fairness though, the Little League World Series only occurs for a few weeks each year. It's not like games are televised year-round. And the USA-Honduras match isn't a qualifying game or anything.

Yes, college football is absolutely huge here. The number of games that can be seen on television on one weekend is unbelievable. You could spend all of your waking hours rotating among multiple games. And many games that aren't televised are still big local events. There are many college towns that double in population on game day because so many visiting fans spend the whole weekend there. It's pretty amazing.

Painful to watch that one. We can't keep relying on RVP to get us out of jail all the time. Gervinho, Ramsey and Walcott need to be more lethal and prolific or we will soon eat it.

Hate to say it but Wenger needs to move for Hazard and M'Villa again in January AND we need another striker since we only seem to have one at the moment. Arteta has proven to just be a squad player and not a match winner.

yep. fine by me.

the LLWS is insanely huge tho. and it is wrong. we shouldn't be exploiting little kids and breaking down their performances as if they are grown men.

and college football is way to big for it's own good. more pimping of amateur athletes...

There was a rumour yesterday that Wenger was looking to sign Podolski

Good summary of the Little League

Totally agree. The USA-Honduras match was only a friendly, but it stinks that soccer is often at the bottom of the barrel in terms of priority.

There was a rumour yesterday that Wenger was looking to sign Podolski

Hazard sounds like he'd be a good move. Podolski has bee inconsistent as of late, no? Or am I thinking about another German international?

i don't know wether Podolski would fit into arsenals team .. he is known for having difficulties getting his position in teams with many stars ... but on the other side he wouldn't be very expensive and if he connects with a team and thus is motivated he can be very dangerous to any opponent
he has perhaps one of the strongest left shots in europe.period.

for consistence: in this 11 game season so far, he scored 8 goals and had 3 assists which makes him 3. in the current goal scorer list and 3. in the total points list
where it shouldn't forgotten that Köln has a squad which is always on a budget and since 5-6 years fighting against regelation every single year. .. in total they scored 18 goals this year .. which makes his 11 scorer points quite impressive

in other news bayern is currently pulverizing napoli: 3:1 (Gomez Hattrick !) after 45 minutes and with more luck bayern could had scored 3-4 more

Wow, that was such a shame! :)

And so, the Blue half of Manchester got their big win in Europe, with a little help from the referee regarding Balotelli's penalty, but Yaya's goal was well taken, and City certainly didn't look like loosing

MLS Conference Semifinal second leg playoff matches tonight. Can Team David Beckham triumph over Team Thierry Henry to book a spot in the semifinal ?

I got my Columbus Crew playoff tickets refunded today. :(

Good numbers - obviously I must have him confused with someone else.

Other Premier League teams may be more experienced in Europe, but City is the best English side in the competition, especially in terms of depth. Chelsea, Arsenal and Man U all look thinner than in recent years past.

The keeper's a sleeper; played for Manchester United and Blackpool.
In a similar fashion, while Leeds were getting thrashed Cardiff were beating Derby 3-0 – lifting the Welsh outfit above is in the process. However, we kept our position in the table due to Derby dropping below us, on account of their now inferior goal difference – thanks in no small part to an own goal from Hevin Kilbane, currently on loan at the Rams from us. Heh. :D

Team David Beckham beats Team Thierry Henry and LA are in the MLS (Western Conference) semifinals. The MLS Cup Final is going to be played in LA's stadium this season, so if they make the final they will have a tremendous advantage. The league suits want Beckham to get his championship very badly.
