The guy scored 76 goals and had 56 assists in his rookie year ... unreal stats ...
they still love him in Winnipeg

Big game against the B's today:cool: I'm going with my boyz;) Sorry Z:p

Are you sure the Flyers know this was supposed to be a big game?

I know there's still half a game of hockey to be played... but :p

Two periods down.

Lucic never left his feet, so I don't know why there was a misconduct. If Shannahan doesn't suspend him, I can already see the ESPN commenters crying that the league is helping the Bruins... It has probably already started.

Lucic wouldn't have hit him if 36 didn't drive Horton in to the boards while he was already taking a hit from the other guy.

The refs obviously don't want the game to get completely out of hand, which is why they gave Lucic the automatic 5 and the rest of the game.

I don't think it merits a suspension, but he could get a game or two.

No matter what happens, everyone will whine. People always look for excuses as to why their team is losing, not getting breaks, etc. In reality, the scoreboard is what tells the truth.

Yeah, that was pretty awesome. However, it isn't really accurate this season. Cooke's only got 12 PIMs this season, 7 goals 6 assists +1, and has completely turned his game around. I heard an interview with Cooke this week (check out the Dec 14 podcast: http://www.fan590.com/onair/hockeycentral/), and it was a very interesting listen.

Cooke has made his reputation.
The problem is, like Lucic, other teams will antagonize him til he retaliates.

He is talented. Hopefully we will see it soon.

Is anyone offended by the winter classic commercial that mocks "The Hockey Song" ?

Surely?

I mean, maybe someone is, but I'm not. I thought it was kind of cute. I liked the cameos by Luc Robitaille and Will Arnett......funnily enough, I saw GOB here in LA a few weeks ago shooting scenes from his current tv show:

Here's a link to the commercials, btw: http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/pu...8217-s-Winter-Classic-commerc?urn=nhl-wp19103

Leafs need to start putting some wins together already. Losing both games this weekend must be a killer in the dressing room.

Yeah, saw that.

Good.

/sorry budday!:p

My feeling is this -- If he hadn't hit Miller earlier this year he may have skated on this one but when you combine the two there was no way that Shanny was going to let him go unscathed. Reputation counts and, like it or not, he has two now.

did anyone see this?

http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/7369600/montreal-canadiens-hire-non-french-speaking-randy-cunneyworth-irks-quebec-official

Forgive my ignorance, but why is Quebec always seemed to be far more nationalistic than the rest of Canada? Why do they insist on this? Speaking frankly, if you want the coyotes (or any team for that matter) in Quebec next year or thereafter, you may have to fire the existing coach because he likely doesn't speak french, and you can't fire a coach because of that

Heard it this morning on the news and got a good chuckle out of it. I'm not Canadian but I think there are a lot of Canadians that don't speak french... I wonder what language the Habs fans sob in :p

Here's the link that has the NHL video explanation of the Lucic suspension.

Nationalistic is the wrong word. They're just super-protective of their French language, and are afraid that if they don't do stuff like this, the language would fade away and English would take over. The language laws in Quebec are totally ridiculous.

Canadians are plenty nationalistic....we're just not obnoxious about it.

The funniest part of this whole stupid French-speaking prerequisite that they have is that the two coaches that won the most Stanley Cups for the Canadiens are Scotty Bowman and Toe Blake.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Who cares? I just love your national sport and love playing it. There is nothing better than hockey. :)
