^^^ clearly you guys are happing to have him back. I'm glad he wasn't around last Saturday.

Also like Ott and Laviolette going at it down the tunnel.

Not a Sedin fan -- but this was pretty good. The ol' header to get the puck forward...

**** steve ott. biggest douche in the league not named matt cooke.

i love that clip of jack edwards calling him "brave steve" as he watches his team from the tunnel after he got ejected for cheap shotting the bruins a few years ago

I was watching 24/7 last night. Is it just me or does Simmonds get more than enough stick for the way he looks? Being called Hooch after that bad hit is a bit close to the mark for me.

I'm a Rangers fan myself, so don't really care about the Flyers as a team, just in terms of the fact black players get stick like this in this day and age is awful. I'd hate to be in the NBA and given a nickname like Turner just because I was white... My wife, who is African American, wasn't particularly interested in going to see a hockey game, but after I took her to see the Islanders (cheap tickets and close by) get completely obliterated by the Penguins (without Crosby), she found out two things: There were other black people at the game, she thought that she'd be the only one, which is kind of sad, and that she loved the speed of the game and when players got hit into the boards.
For me, it was my first time at a hockey game too, and the atmosphere was the closest to that of a soccer game in london without fans being split up of having no beer in the stands.

Anyway, that game made me want to really learn hockey even more. I've been skating each day and getting to be a stronger (but still weak) skater, so will be signing up for skating lessons and then hockey lessons, there seems to be a beginners course in Flushing that I can go to.

All in all, I am loving the game right now, it was very inaccessible in the UK to learn as a kid, with equipment being so expensive. It still seems to cost a lot here, but I have a disposable income now, which counts for a lot.

The Rangers played great short handed against the Devils too. So good :D

Is Hooch a derogatory name? Maybe it's just his nickname? I missed that exchange.

In the first episode of 24/7, Simmonds talked about how it doesn't matter to the other players that he's black, and that everyone treats him and other black players no differently than any of the white players. I don't think he was BSing for the cameras.

Leafs won against the Sabres last night. Hopefully we can finally put a streak together again. It's been a bad December.....

Man, has there been a more disappointing team than the Sabres? Well, maybe the Caps. Horrible decision giving Leino such a big deal, seeing how he didnt accomplish enough to warrant such a deal.

Its going to be an interesting game in Boston tonight, as two division leaders go head to head. Im just hoping the Panthers can hold their own, because they have been hit severely with the injury bug. They lost Weiss last night against the Sens, but it looks like he might be back next week. They are without the service of Weiss, Bergenheim, Sturm, Samuelsonn, and Skille, and are moving up the man games lost list quickly. Out of all of them, Weiss is the glue to this team, and if they want to just make the playoffs, not counting the division title, they NEED him in the lineup.

B's are not playing Peverley who has been a good setup man -- lots of points. But, other than that they were at nearly full strength. One Dman has the flu and Campbell has a broken bone in his foot but is playing.

The Bruins have been off since Monday and the Panthers have had a tough week on the road including a game last night. Let's see who gets up for the game tonight. Panthers have been tough in Boston this year.

Didn't quote it from above but I agree with Surely. Just watched episode 1 online today (thanks to him) and thought it was good. Ep2 isn't available yet.

EDIT - PS - I'll be at the game in one hour - Go Bruins!!

I didnt like him before, but after watching him on 24/7 (the bit where he went to the kids rink), he seems like a chill guy.

Should be a good one. Panthers are one of the few teams to beat the Bruins this year, so expect the bear to be hungry tonight. ;)

jealous. enjoy it.

Hamill will be skating in Pevs spot on the third line tonight, and in his PK spot most likely. Ference had the flu a couple of days ago, I think he's a game time decision, but he'll probably play.

BE LOUD!! :D

Yeah, that was a @ss whooping by the Bruins. That is one well oiled machine at the moment. I expected the game to go one of two ways; either they steal a point in OT, or what we saw tonight. That is what happens when half of your forwards were AHL'ers last week. At least the Jets and Caps lost as well, Caps in OT, so we are still a few points ahead of them. Im just glad that the boys have a few days off to rest up, and get a bit healthier.

Don't worry. It happened to Philadelphia last Saturday too. Your boys aren't the only ones to get an ass whoopin by the defending champs ;):D

The Bruins are on quite a roll this season. They had a rough start, but seem to have pulled it together. How long can they keep it up?

I was reading the Full 60+ to History book the other night and one page pointed out that the teams that missed the playoffs had 166 days between their last game last year and first game this year, and the Bruins had 92. Obviously, we can tell now (and it happened to vancouver too) that this was the reason for the slow start.

So throw out the first ten games (the month of October) where they were getting their legs back under them. Since then the Bruins are 20-2-1. +56 goal differential. The best goalie on the planet and a 24 year old who has better numbers and is probably top 5 in the league too.

I've never seen a Bruins team like this before. They are coached incredibly well, focused, and everybody knows their role and does it well. The team is extremely deep and balanced. But they know they have to take it one game at a time, not get ahead of themselves, and be smart and play their game. As long as they keep this part of the game going, and they stay healthy, why can't they keep it up?

Yeah. The off season is a killer for the Cup competitors. My boss is a huge Bruins fan, so I enjoyed giving him a hard time in October. :p

It's clearly not a fluke. The boys are 20-0-0 when they score 3+ goals this year and have out scored the opponents something like 30-7 in the last 6 games. It's insane. Tuukka got some offense and he played pretty well.

First period was great. Obviously everyone was into it (no Panthers jerseys for the most part). Then it just got out of hand. But, for this game they do xmas caroling in the 2nd intermission and everyone has fun. I'll post the ornament that they gave out once I get it downloaded.

I happen to be a Kevin Dineen fan by virtue of living near Hartford when I was younger...

I remember them saying things like that the during the 10 game winning streak in November. Now they have won another 6 in a row? :D

Merry Christmas boyz. Have a great and safe holiday:) Hopefully Santa will bring me a shutdown defenseman:p
Peace

He wasn't being called Hooch. He was talking to Lucic about the hit, and calling him "Looch" (his nickname)

Anyone see 24/7? Good episode, I don't know if I like the personal stuff, seems so dramatic...Its nice to see that they have lives outside of the rink but the way its done seems a bit over the top... Gaborik picking out a christmas tree was hilarious, not the smartest of the bunch. Definitely up there "in the universe" :p

Thanks Otav89:cool:;)

I don't understand the pricing for the winter classic...Why are upper deck seats more expensive then field level tickets? (Phillies tickets are so cheap compared to yankee tickets)

I think I'm going to be one of the few ranger fans in attendance :p

Happy to see McQuaid beat the hell out of Torres last night. The guy is just a ******** and finally got it. Not a long fight but Torres didn't look so good afterwards. http://www.hockeyfights.com/fights/108223. My guess is that Torres gets one game at most.

Not a great win by the Bs but it was a win.

Expect more of this on Saturday night in Dallas.

NHL Network at CBP and I got to hang with Mark Recci too;) I love my job:cool:
