Here we go: NHL'S REALIGNMENT PLAN ON HOLD AFTER NHLPA REJECTS CHANGES

I think that the NHLPA is going to try to use this as leverage in the upcoming CBA negotiations. I really hope there won't be a strike/lockout, but it looks liek Fehr is already playing hardpuck.;)

Great....just when the Leafs are finally starting to get good.

its all about the CBA-it will pass in some kind of fashion-they wont leave the jets where they are-

the officiating in this game has been HORRIBLE.

6 canucks jump on shawn thornton during a shift change... somehow the canucks end up with a 5 on 3 and lucic gets a game misconduct for nothing?

what an embarrassment to the nhl

The real loser here is Winnipeg. Another season in the Southeast division, another season of longer flights jetlag.

Move the Jets to the NW, move the Wild to the Central, and move the Preds to the SE and call it a day. I wonder if they could at least get that approved.

It was hard to see with the angle. I think they decided that Lucic was an extra man. Henrik Sedin was also an extra. He quickly realized it and got himself onto the bench. But Lucic stayed on and eventually put Bieksa in a headlock from behind. Still uncertain though about the misconduct.

Thornton and Burrows deserve their penalties. Thornton could have gotten the extra because of the shot on burrows.

That non-call on the icing which Boston scored on was questionable too.

Shame Salo had to get injured on that play. Marchand is so effective against the Canucks. But this penalty could cost his team.

Either, not sure if Boston can play the way they do and not get called for penalties. The difference so far is, as ugly as it has been, Canucks have scored on the powerplay.

Entertaining game so far. An afternoon delight.

NHLPA owes the league and the fan an explanation on their decision. If they're not disagreeing with the league, I guess they wouldn't serve a purpose..

There were SIX guys on Thornton.. and #9 was hitting him from inside the bench. Looch already had one skate on the ice (I saw the still frame on twitter) and was switching out for a legal line change when the scrum started. It was a bad call.

So was the PP that gave Vancouver their 2nd goal.

Quite a ******** ejection though.

Same exact hit. No ejection last year. I'm guessing the refs sent Marchand off to try to keep things from getting out of hand here.

Bruins have been playing dumb with some of these penalties. It's putting them in a hole. Some have been questionable at best though.

Vancouver has been playing like a bunch of pansies though. Whats up with all the canucks challenging Bruins to fight (Thornton/McQuaid v Hansen/Weise) and then bitching out when the Bruins drop the gloves?

Bruins fans always complain when karma comes back to bite their team. ;)

whatever you say bro. karma's been our side. WE WON THE STANLEY CUP after 39 years. i'll take it.

I was saying it was hard to tell why Lucic got the game. Either way, both teams had six out at one point. One player went back to the bench like he should have. The other stayed on.

Weise should have fought Thorton. You're right. In Hansen's case, he was trying to drag the other guy into the penalty box to even out Raymond's penalty. players do that in the NHL all the time.

Not sure why people are getting so worked up about it though.. at the end of the day, this game is for two points. people talk like there's something to prove... may be. it's not like it's a guarantee the Canucks and the Bruins will meet again in the finals..

My fault. I misread your post. I don't see him getting a suspension because of these factors though.

Weise is a little coward. Doesn't even belong in the NHL.

Hansen bitched out of the McQuaid fight. McQuaid wanted him for what happened in game 7 last year, not today. Hansen speared McQuaid in the nuts last year late in game 7 for no reason. McQuaid wanted to beat his ass for that.

People getting worked up because these two teams HATE each other, its the rematch, only time they play, etc.

That said, at the end you are right, it is only one game. I think the Bruins fans realize that more than the ones in Vancouver though. They might still be slightly bitter. :p:p:D

Lucic shouldn't.

Weise hasn't been as tough as I expected when he came. But he's a better hockey player than I expected and is willing.

Didn't remember the end of the game. Too busy rioting... haha. jk. Honestly though, I was there but took no part.

We won it right before you. So what? Either way, it's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game. ;)

haha, let's stay classy. 1 game out of 82. I'm interested in how the Canucks come out on Monday vs Florida after an emotional game for the players.

I don't know what to say.
The best call was when Weiss pussied out but got a penalty anyway.

The Krejci goaltender interference that was a weak call.

If the bruins played the same way Vancouver does I would become a Panthers fan.

It's a good one so far for you. But I'm hoping the Wings make a comeback in this one! :D

They did make a comeback, but Lupul ruined it!:D

It's nice to see the Buds beat the Wings. Reminds me of the early 90's.:p

I could just imagine how electric it must have been down at the ACC. The Leafs and Wings need to play each other more than once a year. Friggin' NHLPA....why'd they have to go and ruin it?

I think the blood pressure of the fans would have preferred to have a more balanced 4-3 than the leafs blowing a 3-0 lead, even if they won

NHL rescinds lucic game misconduct. Can't change the results though.

A lot of good it does after the game. Why can't they just get the call right the first time? You take our top line LW out of the game for last 56 minutes... he could have been the difference maker.

NHL needs to work on their officiating. Need to get some accountability for these refs. Start reviewing them and get rid of the bad ones.

I'm glad at least that this game happened in January, and not in the spring when it really matters.

It still was a pretty entertaining game. Even without Lucic, Boston still had a chance, but they were horrible on the powerplay and Vancouver's scored all four goals. That ended up being the difference. Maybe we'll see them again in June...

Karma is a bitch, and she don't take prisoners. My god, you cry like a baby when things don't go your way. But when you guys do dirty crap like that hit on Miller and Lucic's other BS, it's just fine. It's just "hockey". Get over it and man up. Don't come crying about it here.

Tim Thomas is fantastic on your team. I have nothing but the utmost admiration for him. Lucic...whatever. You guys get what you give. If you want to dish it out, expect to take it. Supposed bad call? Aww! Oh, let's whine about it because we Bruins never get away with bad calls. Give me a break. Your team has gotten away with a lot of dirty s***.

i'm so sick of hearing about the lucic hit on miller. i wish lucic would have actually hit him, he would have knocked him 20 feet, miller would have left the ice on a stretcher, and he'd be sitting in toronto eating hot dogs with crosby for the next year.

enough with the bruins are dirty crap. your blind boston hate is getting old too. there are many other teams that have players much dirtier than any guy on the bruins. we don't have guys like raffi torres (3 questionable hits in a week, suspended), carcillo (3 suspensions this year already?), cooke, etc.

instead of actually discussing the topic about the horrendous officiating that has been occuring in the NHL as of late (and i'm not just talking about the bruins game, did you watch the winter classic?? that was the perfect example), you just bash me cause i'm from boston and tell me karma is a bitch because my bruins have had one season where they have actually been relevant in my entire life. whatever.

Really? You just wished brain injury on a player? That's not all that classy.

I agree on the officiating, but that's part of any sport really, until there are robots programmed to strictly enforce the rules, humans will make mistakes. Even with video replays and booth reviews, Ballard caught the ball and had a knee down against Philadelphia, I think, and the TD was ruled incomplete.

Rescinding the penalty does some good as it doesn't count as a black mark against him, you can't change the score of the game (unless the NHL sims the game in NHL 12 and sees how a computer generated version of it is scored, never happening though).

Just need to get over poor referees, what they say is final on the day of the game, and if you get a poor call, you just need to think about what you can do next time you're playing to stop it from happening.

And yes, refereeing in the winter classic was despicable. Guess it was good that the Rangers as an entire team played well despite the decisions against them and that Lundqvist is a great goaltender :)
