Isn't it always July 31st?

So the Yankees have roughly 2 1/2 weeks to work out that deal for Lester. :p

Oh yeah, you're right.

Har har! You're not getting Jon Lester, so keep your grubby Yankee mitts to yourself. I hear AJ Burnett is lighting it up in Pittsburgh, maybe you could see if he's available again. :p

Ha!

They've done it once already with Javier Vasquez. Let's not give the Cash Man any more bad ideas.

And I heard Jacoby Ellsbury took batting practice today. Hope he doesn't give himself a season ending splinter. Those bats can be dangerous you know. :D

I'll tell him to be careful. Meanwhile you should do your part to protect CC Sabathia's groin up to and including applying ice and monitoring his groin activities.

Tell Beckett to lay off the KFC and beer, take care of his back by not going golfing when hurt, and to be less of a jerk in general. :D

Youkilis seems to be lighting it up in Chicago as well.;)

I will, if you tell A-Rod to lay off banging hookers, playing in illegal poker rings, and to be less of a giant douche lord in general. :D

I will if you tell Valentine to stop throwing his players under the bus to the point that the only people who will be playing on the Red Sox is your Single-A team because they don't know who the hell Bobby V is. :D

Yeah, and so is Melky Cabrera in San Francisco.

See, we can do this all day. I'd also like to point out that you guys are all dogpiling on me. Takes 3 Yankees fans to deal with 1 little Red Sox fan?

Not our fault that you are the only true Red Sox fan that will stick with the team even when they suck. The other Red Sox fans that usually post here are no where to be found.

No but the more the merrier.:p

Talking about our Red Sox fans abandoning the team now that they suck....

Where are our resident Phillies fans? I haven't seen them in here lately. :p

Phillies fans drive me insane. They were plentiful up until this season. There's another forum that I post on where a Phillies fan would come in and give Braves fans crap several times. Hasn't made a post in there this season until I asked about him the other day.

I think that's just the nature of sports for some people, not everyone is a diehard willing to take the lumps. It's a disease. :D That said, I think it happens with every team in every single sport. I will openly admit I'm not as huge a Bruins fan as I am a Red Sox/Celtics/Patriots fan. But did I celebrate and enjoy watching the Bruins win the cup? Hell yes, that's my hometown.

Now that I've braved our hellish first half, I think we've got a run in us. Ellsbury and Crawford (until he blows out his elbow) are back. Maybe Daniel Bard will remember how to throw a baseball, Josh Beckett will stop sucking, and then - watch out, mofos!

And I can take all your Yankee ribbing. I'm a Celtics fan living in Los Angeles. Bring it! :p

Latest rumor I heard on twitter from Buster Olney has the Red Sox trading Lester to the Yankees for the right field bat boy, 2 cases of fenway franks, and a monthly NY subway pass for Bobby V for when he gets fired and moves to New York. ;)

I heard Rivera was lighting it up in Panama... lighting up cigars anyways, cause he sure as hell isn't pitching any time soon. :p

I'm the same way except different teams. Die hard Bruins and Pats, and I'll casually follow and occasionally watch the Red Sox and Celtics.

Ellsbury and Middlebrooks are back tonight. We need to get Pedroia back and have everyone else stay healthy. Forget about Crawford, I doubt he even plays 15 games this year. Worst free agent signing ever. And who knows about Bard.

That said, if Ellsbury, Papi, Gonzo, Pedroia, and WMB all have good 2nd halfs and Lester/Beckett/Buchholz can at least kind of figure their **** out, they have a decent chance at the wild card.

I'm strongly against trading Lester, but if you get a good offer for Beckett at the deadline, take it and run.

The surprise trade of the year(so far) is Ichiro Suzuki going to the Yankees for DJ Mitchell and someone else( basically nobodies).

There are going to be a lot of confused Mariners fans at the stadium tonight....

And more good news for the Yankees...

A-Rod Suffers Broken Hand

Word is he'll miss 6-8 weeks. Luckily Chavez is a defensive beast - but I can't see him playing every day for 2 months and frankly, I don't want him playing every day for 2 months, as injury prone as he is. I'm afraid they may call Nunez back up.

Bye Bye Beckett?

The Red Sox have made calls to the Braves and Rangers within the past 48 hours in an attempt to dump Josh Beckett, according to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports. Passan adds that the Red Sox began talks with the Rangers and Braves because they believe Beckett would waive his 10-and-5 rights to play for either team. While the Dodgers have yet to receive a call on Beckett, they're one team that could potentially be interested in the right-hander, according to Passan.

They'd better get this done now that it's all over the sports wire.

Beckett + whatever is left of his beer & fried chicken to the Rangers for two cases of Vitamin water and a case of fenway franks.

sounds like a solid deal to me.

It sounds like the Braves are the likely team.
