I was kinda hoping Washington would keep that no-hitter going. Embarrassing for the Cardinals to not get a hit, but even more embarrassing for the Nats to get a no hitter and still lose.

Darn Freese ruined that one!

What did they ever do besides beat the Brewers in the NLCS last year? :p

Technically.... Or actually Cards beat them in the regular season this year too ;)

But darn the Cards...... Nats try to hand them game 1 with gio cracking under post season pressure and we can't hold the lead. Damn you Bullpen! Damn you bats too.... Do your jobs!

The Nats got killed last night, but there was some good news. The 1pm start on Wednesday freed up tickets on CL and I snagged a pair at a decent price for me and my Dad. Pumped. Leaving at 3am tomorrow to get up there for BP.

Great news! Make sure you shout your favorite beer at Bryce!

Other great news, eastern NC has a reasonable road for driving north in the form of 17..... When I lived in 28540 years ago it was all backwoods country roads..

We took a W though only 2-1 in extra innings, but the Giants are there for at least another day.

If the A's somehow survive tonight, then the chance of a Bay Area WS is still alive.

J-ville? Nice. In the service? 17 is good but I-40 is better. It's still back country in LOTS of spots. I'm at a train station in Rocky Mount waiting to catch the overnight to DC. I'm the only one here with a Nats shirt on.

If that happens i will spit shine your shoes :p

I could see one of the the Bay Area teams rallying but for both to do three in a row after being two down is close to impossible. If it does happen it would go down as one of the most remarkable postseason runs in baseball history. We just want to see a rematch of the Bay.

What would be epic is a 7 game WS between the two being won by SF in the end by the A's former Cy Young ace, Barry Zito. I could only dream. While Zito was remarkable with the A's and won the Cy in 2002, he has faltered in his years as a SF Giant except for this year. All the relentless ****talk against Zito can be quieted tonight if he wins and the team moves on all the way through the postseason. If Zito stays to current form, and Lincecum gets out of his rut, then the Giants can have a scary pitching rotation similar to someone like the Rangers, year after year.

UPDATE: speechless

40 is nice. I remember when it practically ended outside of Raleigh and 95 was the only highway in east NC. Those were the days:) and they weren't long ago (I'm only 30).

Not in the service, my dad was a Marine then. I really love that area of NC and go back often.

Way off topic...... Is Budda's Belly still in Wilmington?

The Yankees have fallen back into their playoff slump.

Let's go STL Browns!

Nats had a mini implosion today, and SF proved they've still got fight! I really want the Reds to move ahead; with the exception of one series with them this July, we've taken them 2 out of 3 every time we've seen them in 2012. Been a much closer competition with the Giants.

On the AL side of the house I would love to see Orioles go all the way, but not sure they are going to best the Yanks let alone Detroit. I see the Tigers making it.

I am so conflicted on the Giants/Reds series. As a Cardinals fan, I should want to see the Reds fail miserably like they did in 2010. But I know they're likely the easier team to beat in the NLCS should we make it. And if the Giants win 3 in a row, momentum will be on their side. I'd much rather play a Reds team that was up 2-0 but then backed into the NLCS after a game 5 win.

And the sooner the Yankees are out, the better.

Budda's is long gone, but I knew it well. ;)

Headed back to NC this morning and my train just ran over its 10th O's fan. You can see them lining up beside the tracks. Man, my Nats lose 8-0 and I'm the one more optimistic than the lot of 'em. It was pretty devastating though...

SF goes to the next level against the Nats or Cards.

I hope it's the Cards which may be pretty evenly matched. If it's the Nats and they fire up their incredible hitting and pitching, then it's all over for my Giants. At 2-2, I will find out who we face soon.

We can't go on like we don't have the milkman or the beard in postseason. It's too much to expect for the others to hold the rest of the team up. Timmy the Freak, though having had a bad regular season, did really well in helping save this otherwise disastrous NLDS. Other than a few key plays, the Reds held back SF on hits and I expect the Cards or especially the Nats to really do all that and more.

I was really hoping the Cards would shut it down today, but the Nats didn't want to let the city of DC go so long without a Post Season win!

Good for the Giants, it will be more evenly matched if the Cards make it; that's why I wanted the Reds to move ahead!

The Braves will have their day in the sun again!
