Obviously if the loss is in the championship. I don't see a non conference-champion ever getting into the playoff.

But if Utah loses one game, but still wins the Pac12, they'll get in; guaranteed. I could maybe see a loss to Oregon State being a problem, but anyone else on the schedule this year and the Utes still have a path.

A Pac-12 1 loss team isn't guaranteed. Vary probable. But depends on other conferences and Independent (ND). A Big 12 Team & ND run the table and then you start picking between SEC, B10, Pac 12. This is just one example of how its not "guaranteed" as you state.

EDIT: ND lost - Im an idiot.

But if Utah loses one game, but still wins the Pac12, they'll get in; guaranteed. They'll play as many or more top 25 opponents than anyone this year, so their SOS will be what gets them in. Utah still has the current #17, #20, #23 teams on the schedule. If they make the CCG they'll probably face Stanford who is #16 right now, and would likely be higher when they played. Depends. I'd rather see them than an ACC champ. But I'm thinking it's more likely we see Ohio State, Alabama, TCU/Baylor, and then maybe Utah or Clemson. Depends.

Excluding a double loss kind of thing, Michigan state or Ohio State is definitely getting in. ND probably not. B12 team definitely unless they burn out, and obviously an SEC team is getting in.

Question runs down to Pac12 vs ACC

I hope Chubb from Georgia is going to be ok in the future. Awful injury to such a good player

Also, How about Texas today??????? Where has that team been all year?

And why is Ohio State still number one? Have they played a team with a winning record this year? TCU is great and so is Florida, either of them should be ranked 1.

So far this week:

1. Bret Bielema knowing how to flop
2. Steve Sarkisian suspended & then fired
3. Steve Spurrier leaving South Carolina
4. Florida QB Will Grier suspended for 1 calender year for "PED's"

and it's only Wednesday... What's next????

HUGE win for Alabama especially after an Ole Miss loss to Memphis. The only real threat left is LSU. If Alabama gets passed that game with a win, there is no reason why they shouldn't be able to run the table the rest of the season (yes, they still play Auburn but that's a game I expect them to win).

What a crushing defeat for Michigan. That punter should be in the witness protection program.
Well I was finally able to watch the entire game. First of all, the refs SUCKED! They made so many questionable calls throughout the game.

But on that last play, all of the blame can't be put on the punter. It was a low snap for their rugby style punter and the punt protection broke down completely. If I remember correctly there were 7 MSU players in the Michigan backfield

Utah wins again. It's looking more and more like a Utah vs Stanford Pac12 title matchup. USC is in turmoil, UCLA is good but seems to be downtrending. AZ is having a rough year, and Washington isn't as tough as the other Pac12 teams we've played so far.

The team is really starting to play well. People stepping up when needed.

We Match up well with Stanford, I like our shot (as it stands at the moment) to make it to the CFP this year.

Idk. I'm surprised anybody took A&M seriously. Historically they haven't been great. They beat Alabama with Johnny Manzel ONE TIME and all of a sudden they're ranked every year, and every year they are a fail like the year before.
