At Apple will cost 200-250$, build from slaves in China. And only 1000$ at rest of us. And 0.03% tax in Ireland for the rest of the world. Apple, the insane **** moralists company. Great success Tim!

So that'll be £900 in the UK? For a phone .. jeez .. the £600 I paid for my iPhone 7 is around the limits of what I'm prepared to pay for a phone. I might upgrade if they stick an OLED and bigger battery in their £600 phones (and why not? You can buy an Android phone with OLED for that price point) but I'm not upgrading for a small upgrade of what I already have for £600.
No, it would be £1000 at the current exchange rate.

If this comes with 4GB of ram, I could possibly consider it. Would last me probably 2 years before it gets "sluggish." However, if it's just going to be a 7S with a better screen... definitely no.

Imagine if it was made in the good 'ol USA though. It would cost as much as a 15" Macbook Pro.

So if iPhone 8 or what ever the 10th anniversary model will be called costs upwards of $1000 then the price increase isn't really that much. Apparently the 10th anniversary model will be "Plus size" only and when you compare that to current iPhone 7 Plus 256GB model then the price difference is under $40.

So many people here complaining about the possible cost of the iPhone, but you'll all pay it. You'll all go and buy one. And if you don't buy one, it'll be because you're saving harder to buy the next iPhone.

And if you were Apple, you'd do the same. They haven't updated the design for years, they removed the headphone jack so iPhone users had to buy adaptors or expensive wireless Earpods - but people keep on buying them by the millions. iPhone sales are through the roof.

So good on Apple. They've got a product that people will blindly buy, even when useful features are removed. $1,000 sounds cheap to me.

They can keep it.

Lol! Look at your signature - it's like an Apple Store product listing. You'd buy it at twice the price.

The iPhone needs to drop $200 to restart interest.

I read that iPhone sales are up. Why would they need to "restart interest"?

Given how the latest Macbook Pro sells like hotcakes despite it's loooooong list of shortcomings and extortionate pricetag the sad truth will be that the iPhone 8 is still going to be flying of the shelves - no matter how ridiculously high their price is. sigh

considering we all know apple has 200Billion in cash, it's seems like a pisstake to charge more and more when the company is only pulling cash out of the world to horde it. Apple always claims it is fairness and good for the world but the 'company' part that is apple is run by some of the most scrooge like tight fisted share holder brown noising ****ers. It wouldn't be so bad if apple was making profits in line with the rest of industry but their margins are too high.

even so, the iphone 8 will sell like chocolate...since over 60% will be buying this on a contract so a 1000$+ will not be that much

I'll bet $1k a 300+ pages 300+ ''iPhone 8 order-thread'' will pop here at macrumors around september this year....
so, Apple is just doing fine raising the iPhone to $1k

I just moved from a MacBook to a Windows machine because the new models aren't worth the premium. I'm currently moving my iCloud based services to Office365 because Apple's offering is overpriced, doesn't play nicely with other platforms and is inconsistent and often unreliable. For now they have my tablet/phone business because there is no alternative that I like (Android just feels half finished), but that day will come. I'm fortunate enough to be able to afford the Apple tax, but I just don't want to anymore.

Some non-Apple recent examples:
- Dell hardware issue, someone comes to my house to replace components within 48 hours
- MS Outlook issue, community forum response with workaround supplied in timely fashion

Some Apple recent examples:
- Made appointment to pick up iPhone, appears it was an appointment to queue and service was not like that of old
- Posted serious issue on Apple community forums (rMB display flicker with external monitor) in June, it is still unresolved impacting me and many others

If MS can get the surface phone right, maybe some retail presence in the UK that doesn't completely suck (partner with a large OEM like Dell if you have to for non competing products) then they might just become a player again.

Apple aren't going down the toilet as much as I think they deserve a slap in the face, I'm not saying that, but I no longer fit the target audience and I'm quite sure I'm not alone.

so why did you come here to tell us?

You can't compare different currencies like that .. we are comparing increases in price on the same currency/country.

If your already paying 1.5k for a 7plus down under expect to be paying at least 1.8k for the next flagship model with a decent storage size if this predicted US price is true.

My point though, is after conversion into US dollars, it's still in excess of $1,000 lol.

IMO it will be a sunken ship as it will be too little too late as many folks will be shooting straight to the next Samsung device that hits the market which will most likely be before the new iphone is released. The only thing that will hold some back is the over hyped articles and rumors about this new iPhone.

I'm out.

You can buy the S7 Edge brand new for 489€ here in Germany.
2k amoled Display, great camera, curved display and very small size (for a 5,5 inch device).

I'm not sure I care anymore. I had an iPod Touch for years while I was stuck with a horrendous Android phone on a very long contract. When the contract was up, then I got an iPhone. I can go back to having an iPod Touch for music and a few apps, and the most dirt cheap cell phone I can find, because I hardly ever actually use the iPhone as a phone.

I'm out as well for this one, I don't want a bigger phone for a start, the new design will have issues, they always do. I cant see Apple making a 10th anniversary edition and not then using it again the following year to fix the hardware bugs it will come with, all new tech needs a revision or two or three to get it right.
I'm happy with my 7 for now, it means I can make calls in the rain not worry if its raining a lot when I'm out in my wheelchair and its in my pocket so that's good, but no phone is to me personally worth £1000 and I'm not into waving it around to show it off as the latest and so called greatest either. I may have to start looking elsewhere, yes I really like iOS but at that price no way.
A Huawei phone would be a better buy in a year or so and probably have a great feature set at a sensible price for what appears as design changes with just incremental updates in reality as phones have been stagnating and Apple are still playing catch up with things like wireless charging and OLED screens etc. Tbh all phones seem to be adding features that are dubious at best or just companies are increasing CPU and GPU specs like in the days of old PC's and Macs where having the latest felt amazing till CPU power became so good that the average user really could not tell the difference any more for their needs. These days I'm finding it harder to justify spending large sums on something that for me really still just makes phone calls and sends messages as its base function. Others mileage will vary of course.
