My goodness your defending for that first goal was shocking. Red and white shirts everywhere with no idea what to do!

Clear your box. Don’t look to pass your way out when you are surrounded by blue shirts

Schoolboy stuff!

Unfortunately, it is no secret that our defence is an embarrassment at times. An excruciating embarrassment.

The injuries (Bellerin and Holding in particular) we have suffered in that already threadbare department haven't helped matters.

Unlike the revered and esteemed and respected Mr Wenger, (who - I will readily concede - had a major blind spot re defence), I do think that Mr Emery knows what he needs to do, (and both Bellerin and Holding had appeared to have been receptive to his message), but seems to lack the funds to be in a position to do it.

Well its not all Liverpool! We have had some chances. However not as many as them.

Just as they score! Clearly offside!

One all at half time is rather good.

I imagine that Liverpool will start the second half with the proverbial flea in their ear.

Not so that you'd notice. We have had as many chances as them in the second half.

Declan Rice missed a free header earlier. Caroll will come on for a bit. He'd have buried it.

Still I'm happy with things as they are, and I can dream!

Liverpool should have scored at the death (although clearly offside!), but we ended up with a draw. In the end we deserved to win it. Nerves got to Liverpool. They could be second Wednesday night.

A good match for your team AFB. My Liverpool friends are not too happy with the results.
I'm sure! But we had a good number of chances. I'm a happy hammer tonight!

I understand the former manager for Man U is in trouble with the Spanish tax authorities. Too bad, not!

Lots of footballers have been getting dinged by the Spanish taxman over the past couple of years, including Messi and Ronaldo.

Mourinho has had some more serious stumbles of late, including on a Russian hockey rink last weekend.

Really curious to see which football club is clueless enough to hire him again. He should be all rights be done at the top level after flaming out at Real, Chelsea, and United in succession.

And rightly so.

I see no reason why footballers earning obscene salaries do not pay taxes at an appropriate level to the authorities of the country where they ply their trade.

Agreed. When you earn 80,000 a week it’s not like you can’t afford it.

But then it’s not just rich footballers that don’t pay their taxes!
But without taking this into PRSI territory I’ll leave it there!

Back on topic, sorry to see Barnet drop out of the FA Cup. I used to live there and was at the game when they list their football league status.

Then on to tonight’s main event. Hoping Man City can do the business against Everton (who are one of the teams we are competing with).
But mostly to keep it tight at the top. Fun for the neutral and for the office banter.

@jaffacakes ...

So Man City have pilled the pressure on Liverpool by overtaking them. I love a nice tight title race! Just wish we could be in one one day!

Man City play before Liverpool for the next 4 games, so it will always be a case of catch up for them unless City drop points. Unlike last season, that seems very possible.
Too close to call.

I think it will swap between them a few times yet. If Kane comes back this month, they too might be able to get amongst it if the others drop points.
All good fun for the neutral. Not so much for the fans.

Spurs on top?

Sounds like someone is on illegal drugs.... :p

Tinkering with my Fantasy team. I have dropped the injured Wilson for Arnautovic. Now trying to decide if I should play my triple captain on Aubameyang who I fancy against Huddersfield but has been sick this week? Decisions, decisions!

Like West Ham I'm stuck mid table in the league!
