I figured you would!

I think a lot of fans of clubs outside the "Big Six" (in other words, just about everyone in the football pyramid!) would feel a great sense of schadenfreude watching clubs that broke away to form a Super League struggling in their new home.

But the dark side is that those clubs want to leave not to win trophies, but to lock themselves into an impregnable fortress of wealth - wealth they will essentially be stealing away from all the clubs outside the Super League. The owners don't care if they win - at least, that is not their top priority. They just want to create an exclusive little fountain of money that nobody else can touch.
On that basis, it will be interesting to see what the goals are for the managers.
Currently it varies from club to club, but for the likes of Pep, it's win the league, make the final of the CL, win two trophies or bugger off.
For Ralph Hassenhuttl, it's survive, do well and make us look good (he's achieved all three).

IN a scenario where there's largely nothing to play for, it's interesting to think of what sort of lofty achievements these managers will be tasked with, other than win the Super League...and possibly Club World Cup...

The 12-point deduction has been reduced on appeal by half to a 6-point deduction. Wednesday now on 5 points (still last place in the Championship) and only 3 points off 21st. Good news for Wednesday, for sure.

Maybe things are looking up...

Agreed. A good example of a well run club. They have sold a lot of players over the years, but they still manage to bring players through. It does seem strange seeing Theo Walcott back in a Southampton shirt though.
I've always liked Southampton, and they have an extremely good record of nurturing and bringing through some excellent and very talented young players who are then - unfortunately - usually poached by larger and better resourced clubs.

However, they seem to retain the affections (and possibly gratitude) of those who leave them, - the atmosphere must be pleasant - and I seem to recall that Matt Le Tissier stayed with Southampton for his entire career, which is a tribute to both club and player; glad to see Walcott with them, and I expect that he will do very well there.

I'll echo @Apple fanboy; good luck with it.

Great response from United at Goodison Park today. Solid work rate all around, well deserved win.

This match further illuminates how much they have come to depend on Bruno Fernandes to drive the attack forward and create that bit of magic to unlock the goals. His first goal was straight out of the Paul Scholes playbook: sneak into the box and deliver a thumping header.

Great to see Cavani open his account. He ought to start ahead of Martial, who is really scuffling at the moment.

Very good result for Utd. Everton’s early form has departed somewhat.

This is often attributed to our excellent academy, but to be honest we have brought so many unknown players in from across the globe and turned them into stars, it’s just so much more than that.

I don’t know whether it’s the Staplewood training facility or the coaches or the off-field staff, but we really do excel in so many areas.
it’s nice to see that translating to our on-field performances too.

West Brom defended well against Spurs but they just don't score any goals, and that's going to cost them again and again.

The mighty hammers leave it very late to secure the points against Fulham.
Puts us back in the middle of the table in front of the two Manchester clubs which is exactly where I expect to be! ;)

It’s a good win for West Ham but what a gut punch for Fulham...should have finished 1-1, but you have to score your penalties! It's just not looking good for Fulham this season.

Here’s hoping west ham continue to stay in front of the Manchester duo. ;)

I doubt it! But mid table safety is better than flirting with relegation.
