So did you play Ozil? :) Any news on when he might get off the payroll?

1. From what I can see (read?), I doubt that Ozil wil ever don an Arsenal shirt again.

2. Personally.........from my perspective, it - the day he is off our books and no longer connected with Arsenal - cannot come soon enough.

I'm not sure he'll find anyone willing to pay such stratospheric wages, though.

Agreed. I’m surprised you’ve not found someone to pay part of his wages and take him on loan though.

Well our return to action after 3 weeks off due to COVID went exactly how I expected. Slow, sluggish, sideways passing, no attacking threat, cheap goals given away. We've got 2 months of Saturday/Tuesday games coming up including consecutive games against Peterborough & Sunderland. If we don't get our act together we're going to be stuck in League 1 for a LONG long time.

yeah it's 7 years old... still kinda fun to read...

There's even a Ted Lasso reference in there. One day I'll get around to watching the actual show, but it keeps getting pushed down the queue of shows to watch and I don't have loads of free time these days.

All alone at the top of the table. Feels strange, yet kind of familiar... Guess it's been a minute.

God, Burnley are a pain. They really pack it in and defend well. Good thing they're so inept in attack as they spurned a few good chances throughout the match, as did United's front three.

I expect the upcoming league and cup matches against Liverpool will be a little more fun to watch.

Spurs being Spursy as ever. Two points dropped against Fulham. Scott Parker was very angry about the rescheduling of the match.

On the flip side, Scott Parker has very impressively turned Fulham around. Still plenty of time for them to get out of the relegation zone.

I have little confidence in Liverpool right now. Most of the pieces are there, and Klopp knows what he's doing, but fatigue and injuries plus the schedule have taken the edge off what was (and may be again) an all-time-great squad. Liverpool might get the better of Man Utd in the next couple matches, but it will be a slog and there is every chance they lose both. Klopp won't take advantage of Man Utd's inability to break down tight defenses; he'll play the usual style and there will be tons of space for Man Utd's fast players to run into. It's perfectly set up for a Liverpool 0-1 Man Utd (Rashford 90+1")

This is not a good year for possession-oriented, systems-based management philosophies that require lots of coordination and lots of constant running. Teams with a more reactive style of play are over-performing.

Well I think I speak for all the non Liverpool and Man U fans when I say I’m hoping for a draw!

We've got bottom of the table Burton tomorrow in realistically a game we must win. 2 home games follow that against fellow promotion contenders Peterborough and Sunderland, with our poor record against the upper teams it really makes tomorrow a must win.

Pressure is mounting.

I love their badge/crest and yours too... And their nickname, "Brewers".

A rarity for us this weekend. A 3 pm Saturday kick off. Don’t get too many of those these days.
Playing Burnley so hoping we can put some daylight between us and Arsenal!

I have little doubt that this comment was directed at me.

Sigh.

Well, at least - at the moment - we are no longer flirting with life in the relegation zone.
