Huge upset and great news for all the clubs in the race for a top four spot. On the other hand, bad news for Fulham and Newcastle near the bottom, things are still tight down there. The only downside is having to hear Big Sam big himself up as he always does after one of his giant killings.

Happy to see Pulisic on the scoresheet though. USA need him fit and in-form.

I was very surprised at the West Brom result. I still think it’s too little too late to save them, but great for us. Hopefully we can capitalise on Monday night.

And Liverpool are right back in the thick of the top 4 hunt after easily handling a very anemic Arsenal at the Emirates. Looks like 4th is going to come down to Chelsea and Liverpool as much as I hope West Ham can claim that last UCL spot.

If United take care of business against Brighton tomorrow they'll tighten their grip on 2nd place, with Leicester losing today.

Not as much as I do. Can’t rule out Everton either with their games in hand. But I still think Chelsea will nick it. Expect a reaction after today’s result.

Anaemic.

Indeed, "very anaemic".

While I must confess a dislike of that adjective, regrettably, I cannot quarrel with either its precision or accuracy.

Jota and Salah look sharper again, Trent is edging closer to the player we all know he is, and Fabinho is the best defensive midfielder in the league. It's still going to be a Manchester 1-2 in the league but Liverpool are slowly emerging from their slump. Very stiff test against Real Madrid on Tuesday though. No chance for revenge on Dirty Sergio Ramos as he crocked himself selfishly while pushing to break the all time international caps record (he'll still ALWAYS be a dirty cheater no matter what records he breaks). Hoping to see a good performance from the Reds.

Arteta has lost more matches after 50 games than Emery did. That's not grounds for sacking him, and I still want to see him succeed, but at the moment results are not there.

The young kids of Vasco da Gama showed their skills yesterday against Bangu. Not a strong opponent, but for a team full of Under 20 players it was a good test/practice. 4-2, we still have defensive problems though. The defense cannot win a ball in the air, unbelievable. Four games so far and all goals bar two were conceded from corners or crosses over the area.

Glad Newcastle got the draw. Makes fourth really close!
I think Spurs are the least likely of the top four contenders. But even if we write them off that still leaves four teams gunning for third and fourth. Assuming current form holds for all of them it will be a really tight finish.

Well good something is tight! Mind you the third team to get relegated is also tight between Fulham and Newcastle.
To honour my friend who past away this year, I’d love to see West Brom stay up, but that would be some miraculous run.

Right, we have Vasco da Gama vs Tombense tonight for the second round of Brazilian Cup. Let's see if at least we can get to the next phase and bag some money for that. We need money.

Liverpool's European adventure (and season) are all but over, which gives me more time to get excited about Columbus' title defense - the club did some good recruitment over the winter but the core of the title-winning squad are still around, so I am looking forward to seeing them hit the pitch. Also, the new stadium will open this summer! Hard to believe that just a couple of years ago we faced the prospect of losing the team forever.
