halleluja
but its a small iphone. not a watch.
wake me if its
1) round
2) and display always on

I still use my original (blue) sport band from 4 years ago - now with a Series 4 Watch. It’s been everywhere - ocean swimming, trail running, and it’s the band I wear 95% of the time. It still looks brand new.

Since speed matters to you, you should ABSOLUTELY upgrade to the 4. I did the same, and the speed went from barely tolerable to quite impressive even a year after I bought the 4. The Series 4 effectively erases all concerns about processor speed. You'll no longer ever worry about using the watch for something out of fear it will lag. It's the best thing about the upgrade IMO.
Looks like I'm getting a S4 this week, thank you :)

I also love my apple watch, it keeps me motivated to work out among other things. I didn't get on board until the AW3 then once the AW4 came out, I traded in the AW3 to upgrade for the bigger screen. I won't upgrade every year though, that's for sure.

...
Apple watch (Iphone companion - which is a better name for it) isn't as revolutionary as Tim promised. It leads in a segment that is still isn't that big (comparatively) and wearables haven't taken off. It still is the best smart watch for sure. But it still doesn't have wide spread adoption. And I think the reason is clear.
I’m not sure what the personal definition of revolutionary is, but IMO the AW S4 was revolutionary. Maybe the AW original up through 4 were just dang good as they changed the landscape of smart watches. We can debate the significance of the sales and what to benchmark them against and if the numbers are large or small...all that is immaterial, IMO.

Iphones don't dominate as much as Andriod devices around the world (market domination in US and Japan really). I keep hearing Apple Die Hards not believing Andriod's world market penetration. And that's just silly.
Android market share is greater than iPhone, just not at the price point that iPhones are sold.

So that brings me to what is holding back the Apple Watch from being wide spread adopted. First, it's only useful with Apple devices. I can't really use all the features unless I have another iphone (example imessages and walkie talkie). When most of the world DOESN"T use imessages (Wechat, Line, Whatsapp), the utility of the watch goes down. Also, If it was compatible with andriod, imagine the trojan horse Apple would lay into the Andriod ecosystem. I think it would convert more people to the Apple ecosystem.
I don’t know if Apple cares what the world uses. They want to enhance the digital quality of life for Apple customers, and I don’t believe anything is holding the AW back as evidenced by the sales (ignoring the one off noise from MR posters)

Really excited about ekg and future benefits, but it would be awesome if people on Andriod could use it so I could use the communication features with them.
Probably won’t happen.

Apple Watch shipped around 9 million units in the final quarter of 2018. In 2017 it outsold the entire Swiss Watch industry combined (Rolex, Swatch, etc).

So please, let's hear about how much of a failure it is.

The first Apple Watch cost $400, now they cost $120 in only 4 years. What is the depreciation value of a Rolex? in 10 years nobody will be using the Apple Watches of today, in 10 years Rolex will cost more.

Apple Watch is Mc Donalds.

People don’t buy an AW to try and make money off of it. They buy it to try and improve themselves. Comparing it to a McDonald’s is an odd analogy given the health focus of the Watch.

Got my Series 0 delivered on day one and still going strong.
Gives me all the info I need at a glance and the notifications/reminders keep me right on schedule with just a quick look at my wrist instead of having to pull out my phone or iPad.
Hope whenever it’s time for a new one I’ll be as pleased with that one too.

I definitely love my S4. I bought the S0 when it came out, but just couldn’t quite justify the $400 price tag at the time and returned it. Managed to get my hands on a badly scratched one for only $50 a few months later and wore it until I cracked and got the S4. Now I have some deep scratches on it and it makes me sad. Is there really no “liquid glass” or something like that to fill in these scratches so I don't have to be so sad every time I raise my wrist?

Sounds like it’s the aluminium version? I’ve had a couple with sapphire and steel and their screens looks great after intense usage

I bought mine primarily because I can’t text at work. I can at least see who texted and usually why unless they write short novels for texts and if it really is important then I can call. Otherwise I can just hit one of the canned responses and contact them later.

Since I don’t use it for music or anything other than Apple Pay my battery life is very good, but I’m not using it for much. I like the weather complication, the ability to show what time it is in another city or country but I wouldn’t be heartbroken if I couldn’t do those things. But for my simple requirements it works well and I’m happy with it.

In the future, Apple is reportedly looking to launch an Apple Watch that lacks physical buttons and instead adopts support for touch and swipe-based gestures along the sides of the casing.

Ugh, no, please. That's miserable for people who use the watch for serious exercise (which is a use Apple heavily promotes). Nothing is better than physical buttons when you're sweating and reaching for your watch without looking.

Apple Watch is Mc Donalds.

It makes little sense to compare an Apple Watch to a Rolex. It's like comparing a 2019 Honda Civic to a classic car. They're technically the same product category, but you buy them for entirely different reasons.

It has definitely helped me become more active again and lose weight. Whenever I'm not wearing it—which is rare—I'm annoyed at how much my iPhone buzzes and how I can't quickly glance at it. I'm less likely to get sucked into wasting time on my iPhone if I'm wearing my Apple Watch. The apps I use most are Overcast, Music, RadarScope, Weather, Calcbot, Messages, Calendar, Walkie-Talkie and Workout. So I don't often use many third party apps, but use it a lot with third party notifications. I often raise my wrist to use Siri at home to control my lights, thermostat, garage door, etc. My favorite face is the Infograph.

Silly? Like people in this thread complaining about comparing the Apple Watch to a Rolex?

I’ve never seen anyone “not believe” that Android has the majority in market share. You have a source for all these people who don’t believe this? Even just one?

What I DO see is people use the total market share of Android and compare it to iPhone market share to pretend Android is winning. The problem with that comparison is most Android phones sold around the world are low end junk phones. Apple only sells flagships, so the comparison is severely flawed.

I can't believe how much I've loved my Apple Watch and I don't see myself going back to a regular watch anytime soon, if ever. I still have the Series 1 (I had the original shortly after release, but later the battery swelled and Apple replaced the whole thing with a Series 1 for free) and it's still going strong easily lasting 2-3 days without charging. The only thing I wish they'd add are more animated faces like the Toy Story one. It would be really neat to have lots of choices be it in the App Store or whatever. Other than that, I have no complaints at all about it. It's not something everyone needs, but I've yet to come across someone who owns one that says they don't like it.

And just like an above post says, I find myself not being sucked into my phone because I can just glance at my Watch for everything.

I’m still wearing my “Day One” Series 0 Stainless Steel! The crystal is still flawless, after all that time.

So glad this thing was a success, I absolutely love mine and this Sunday will be my 4th year

I would pay cash money for certain characters on a watch face. I also want more control of the watch faces. I want the infograph modular face but with a large digital time in the middle.

Apple Watch is great. I love mine. I was sceptical at first when it was announced. I got one Christmas 2017. I wear it every day. The only annoying thing is battery life. Battery life is significantly worse than Fitbit watches. It puzzles me why. I thought Apple would be better in this field.

I do feel for those that bought the 10K ones. They will be worthless now because they’re unable to run later versions of watchOS. It was a silly idea of Apple to announce it really.

Had mine on launch day. Love Apple Watch, one of those devices that you don’t realize you need until you wear it daily. I am still on my Series 3, but I am looking forward to a Series 5 later this year. I remember everyone thinking it would be a huge flop and now it’s the most popular wearable out there and continues to grow. Huge potential for the future also.
