Fake!

I don't think its the real phone.. here are some of the reasons.. First.. that phone is ugly.. Apple would not make anything with seam lines running across the phone, u know the line that seperates the head jack from the rest of the phone, where they say its for the removable battery? yea.. apple wont do that.. They pay too much attention to detail. 2nd, there is a removable battery.. No apple product today has a removable battery.. i dont think their macbooks have em (not sure) but i doubt the iPhone would.. I mean honestly we dont need em just charge ur phone.. in my opinion the new iPhone would have an aluminum casing like the iPad and the Macbooks, it would look like a small iPad 3G not the glass thing they are talking about.. But we'll see what happens..

Regarding the durability/crack-resistance of ceramic, check out Corelle plates/cups/etc.

If you are worried about dropping it.
Why not fit it inside the stealth case?

Some of you must have alzheimers or something to say this is not Apple like design. The current iMac design was un-Apple like too when it came out. Compare todays Macbooks to Apple portables of the past.

Why criticize the design as evidence that it is not real? Prototypes, if it is one, don't necessarily reflect the final design of the product. The design may be slilghtly refined or completely changed. The features and software may be more the focus of such a prototype.

Patience patience people.. We will all likely know within 2 months what the iPhone will look like and function like.

Speculating is cool, but I don't see the point of bashing a device without seeing it in person and using it. This is like the iPad. So many people complained, then they used it and their opinions changed.

Nobody will know FOR SURE until steve goes on stage. :)

1. The seam lines may be removed in the final product, but I think that this is the new iPhone.

2. The batteries are removable in the MacBooks. Removable batteries could be useful to people who don't spend hundreds of dollars on new phones every 2 years. We're the exception, not the rule. Non-tech geeks don't buy phones nearly as much as we do. So, when the battery dies, buy a new one and install it yourself instead of paying someone else to do it.

3. An all-aluminum casing is a terrible idea because it would kill the radio reception.

Not a chance. It's the ugliest thing I've ever seen and clearly a Chinese knock-off. The user replaceable battery should have been a clue. Have none of these 'editors' ever seen or held an iPhone clone?

Whoever had it in the iPad pics probably bought them for a joke.

I've been in battery replacement shops when people walk in and ask for a replacement for their iPhone battery and pop the back off a clone to reveal the kind of battery they need. They just think it's a 'cheaper iPhone' made by someone else. That's all this is.

The other explanation is that Jon Ive has moved on from Apple. Has anyone checked his LinkedIn page lately?

After doing some reading, what I will concede is that this may be something that Apple made. Maybe a prototype. DEFINITELY not a production unit though.

They should get that over to the dev-team or something, maybe they can get it running again. Or maybe it only needs to receive a few commands from iRecovery.

Guys...

À removable battery is not à premium option its EU regulations! Thinking green guys! This is THE real deal!:D:D:D

Anyone posting that it is fake or 'not Apple' needs to click over to Gizmodo and read. It is real and it is damn near a final version based on their pics and the level of fit and finnish.

I dont love it yet either, but it is real. And after my inner fan boy has a month or so to justify its new appearance, I will probably love it too! :)

I believe it's real, though I don't think this is the final design. It seems like it's designed to fit in the 3Gs mock-up.

Didn't Apple file a patent for a touchscreen back? Maybe that's why the phone has to be glass on both sides.

forget the pictures here..

Go to Gizmodo...it's not a fake, it is an Apple design (look at an iMac), and it is THINNER, bigger battery, and personally i like everything about it. seams and removable battery? maybe maybe not....

Looks like its real.

Wonder if Apple will try to do any damage control.

Or move up the announcement ...

Awesome

Am I the only one that thinks the "new" design is AWESOME looking?

I am sick of these blobbish-looking apple products, I would love to see some sharp lines and angles on some stuff!
