This would have been a great announcement had they just had it in iTunes where it belongs.

But then again just about every news outlet is reporting it so maybe they were right again!

Finally....?

I find it interesting that just two days ago I was thinking about how the Beatles were one of the last big names to hold out from offering their music via digital download. Well, this has finally be resolved...I suppose.

Almost 3 to 1 NEGATIVE vs. positive comments. Wow! And why so many Beatle haters? Beatles are cool, but I do agree that most who like or love 'em already have it all and have already added it to their digi collections.
I don't really think it's about liking the Beatles or not, but more about the fuss Apple is making about nothing.

OMG Beatles tunes. Wow, after 40 years we finally get to listen to Beatles Tunes in lossy audio quality.

Thats it?!

Boooring if you ask me!

May be a victory for Apple, but we are talking about a band that most people if fans already own on CD or LP.

I agree that, on it's face, this is a yawner. How many people who want The Beatles don't have The Beatles?

However, it is a big announcement because of the symbolism. The Beatles are considered to be one of the biggest acts in music history. It has been a near-decade long fight to get them on iTMS. Having the biggest act on the biggest music service legitimizes iTMS. I would say their market share in recent years has fully legitimized them, but this is that last 1% of legitimacy.

What's so great about the Beatles? Seriously? Just a boy-band from the 60s.

Are you kidding me? With the crap that is played on the radio today? The Beatles were not just a boy band! Their music is amazing and it's not just three chords or some autotune crap. How much of their music have you actually listened to? Grab Abbey Road and some headphones and give it a listen please!

This is the worst thing apple has done. They make nice shiny things but their folksy attitude is lame. Just listen to their ringtones and it's like they were conceived by some hippies. Just like the ones on their home page.

What a pointless boring news announcement...come on Apple release IOS4.2 already my iPad is waiting!!

Good for Apple. They've been working on this for seven years. Glad to see it. I probably won't buy anything out of this, but it's nice for Apple to finally slide this over to the win column.

As for the people who are complaining about "all the build-up"...What build-up? It was a webpage that was up for 16 hours. If there was any build-up it wasn't coming from Apple, and it's your own fault for thinking 16 hour lead-time on an announcement from Apple would anything bigger than this. Chill.

Also, kudos to Apple for keeping a lid on this until the final 24 before the release.

The Beatles hate here is kind of scaring me. What is wrong with you people?

Nothing we just have different tastes. There is nothing wrong with that. Some people just don't like the Beetles. I like some of their songs and some are forgettable. I was hoping for something more substantial than Beetles with that kind of tag line.

Most agree with you on this part, but its rather a not so exciting new thing for Apple today..

I think this means more to Jobs than anyone else after their constant legal battle with Apple Corps.

Don't get my wrong I like a few Beatles songs but I just expected more...
