The Beatles Appear in iTunes Store

I already forget about it! I have had Beatles music in my iTunes library for over 8 years running. :(

To everyone who are saying everyone who wants the Beatles already has them I just say:

Watch the iTunes charts for the next week(at least).

Also,if there was no market for their music as you are implying, why are their CD found in EVERY record store??

That said,I won't be buying,I've got both the stereo and mono remasters and the FLAC flashdrive. That's plenty.

You guys are missing the point of their music. Sure, it's 30 years old but they revolutionalized the industry and the type of music we hear today. Various artists consistantly pay homage to them.

Sure, the Beatles weren't the greatest singers and musicians in the world, but they were masters at writing music and "catchy" tunes.

The appearance of the Beatles on iTunes is a milestone since licensing can be a pain with their library.

Quite frankly this is probably all aimed at paying off Michael Jackson's estate debts. LOL

Wtf....

I love apple and all for their devices and good ideas. But this....really Steve? This is just so bad...yea I will certainly never forgot about this date mainly how bad it this date turned out to be...I enjoy the beetles but this? Shams on you apple...

Are you kidding me? With the crap that is played on the radio today? The Beatles were not just a boy band! Their music is amazing and it's not just three chords or some autotune crap. How much of their music have you actually listened to? Grab Abbey Road and some headphones and give it a listen please!
I'm 41 and know what good music is. You're right -- autotune ain't it either! I'm old enough to have listened to nearly all of the Beatles albums. There is nothing that just makes me go "WOW! That was great!" I'm standing by my assessment that they are a 1960s boy-band.

What is everyone complaining about? It was NOT overly hyped, they put up a teaser ONE day before the announcement. You act like they gave it more attention then their product announcements. And, just from the line "Tomorrow's just another day" it should have been pretty obvious what was in store...

Indeed. I am not buying anything from iTunes until they sell wave files!

Mp3s are a disgrace for music!

Beatles music is now officially downgraded! Thanks Apple!

Well, the Apple Marketing/Hyperbole machine has been running at full steam this year. First, the "magical" iPad. Then the phone that "changes everything....again". And now, a day that we will "never forget". But hey, it gets eyeballs, so I guess they're doing something right.

Part of music history

I cannot believe how ignorant all the "booooooored" on this forum are.
Whether u like Beatles or not, they will always be a HUGE part of music history.

....and no, I am not Beatles fan....

For pity sake

This is the worst let down thing Apple have done. they may have gone. "haha fooled you Apple insiders into thinking something exciting was going to happen." And "this is a day that i will always forget."

When will ACDC have there Chance to shine ?

Really? Please tell me you're being facetious. Anyone who ever wanted Beatles music would have been able to get every song from every album all over the place for YEARS. All you would have had to do in order to get it into your iTunes was to rip the CD. Hell, you can find all of their songs for free all over the internet - and have been able to since the beginning of said internet.

About all I thank Steve for is bringing a decent tablet to market so I have a new revenue stream as a developer (yay!) and for changing the orientation lock switch to a redundant mute button (not yay). Other than that - big whoop.

One giant "meh".

"Decent tablet" FUD FAIL. iPad is the fastest adopted product in recent history, better than that of DVD.

a day you will never forget, because today you realize apple over hypes everything.

True. I am a bit dissapointed not because I don't like the Beatles (I love them - particularly the early stuff) but I already have all their music, books, tshirts etc etc

BUT isn't that what marketing and advertising is about? Over hyping things. For those in the UK that remember, there was a flakey chocolate bar that hinted at something altogether more enjoyable than a chocolate bar that had less choc in it for the same price as any other bar. And you lost half down your front where it melted onto the front of your trousers and made you look distinctly weird

Beatles: excellent
Beatles detractors on this thread: un-necessarily annoyed people
Beatles on iTunes: a bit of an anti-climax really, but it's a good photo of them on the Apple front page :)

We will never forget how apple made such a big deal out of the beatles in 2010 and had us waiting all night for an announcement that ended up being some ********

I wonder what's wrong with these 418 people who clicked "dislike".
How can anybody not like the Beatles?

may be the do not live in that generation and may be they do not live in this country (or countires, US, UK, Aus, Jp) where beatles is popular???

Also, how is it Apple's fault for anything? How is Apple "lame lately"? They just put up that message on their front page yesterday and it's been all you idiots hyping the hell out of it.

Get over yourselves.
