I love the Beatles...The Beatles are the kind of band that will NEVER be forgotten, and will be listened to for many generations to come.

LoL.. It really is the beatles... Made me laugh for the poor people staying up for the announcement... Most of the non-western Apple Homepages i.e. http://www.apple.com/hk/ (Apple Hongkong) aren't even advertising this - but rather the Macbook Air on Front.

Just lol

Any real fan of the Beatles already owned the albums and CDs and imported them into iTunes years ago. This is stupid. Nearly as stupid as Jobs' "magical" statement about the gimped Internet device known as the iPad.

Yeah...definetly is.

+1

I have no interest in the announcement because I already have the Beatles catalog ripped to MP3s, but it's a good announcement nonetheless. And I don't get all of the Beatles hate either. Even if you don't like their music, you have to acknowledge the impact they had on music and culture.

Almost 3 to 1 NEGATIVE vs. positive comments. Wow! And why so many Beatle haters? Beatles are cool, but I do agree that most who like or love 'em already have it all and have already added it to their digi collections.

It's not a hatred of the Beatles. It's just a lame announcement. Everybody already has multiple copies of the Beatle's albums.

If you don't, you've been living under a rock.

Apple has lost credibility from this. This is not a "tomorrow will never be the same" worthy announcement. Your marketing team should be fired for allowing this.

I already forgot about it! I have had Beatles music in my iTunes library for over 8 years running. :(

Gee, how exciting. Lord knows, those of us who like the Beatles haven't already ripped in all of our music.

Talk about an overhyped announcement of NOTHING.

For Shame!

That was the worst excuse for an announcement...... ever (from Apple anyway), would have been happier with new iPod Socks or 90 sec previews.

Feel the hate Apple, feel the hate.

The band is irrelevant to some of the previous generation, most of the current, and all future generations musical tastes.

I wouldn't go that far. Quite frankly, I think most Indie Rock is merely an attempt to recapture the sound of Helter Skelter.

Yay. The overrated Beatles. Who cares.

If you had been around at the time you would not think they are overrated.Go look at the billboard charts for the 3 years before they hit the scene. Then listen to some of the top songs from those charts.THEN you will understand.

Who cares?

As if Apple alone had deprived the entire world of The Beatles for 30 years. Had Apple never made this release, I would never had been able to own a single Beatles song. Thank you Apple for saving me from a life lacking of Beatles music, for no other store offers it and you were the sole source of completing my music collection!

BRB, gotta vomit.

Wow! That was quick. I was going to say it appears to be just a Beatles announcement because an image og the Beatles and ONLY the Beatles came up exactly at 10:00am.

I went back to double check before I posted and at 10:01 am it ease back to the "Tomorrow" splash screen!

I'm over 50 and have several Beatle albums ripped to my iTunes but there are several CDs that I never purchased because I didn't care for the entire album, only some songs. I don't know about others but I don't see many pristine used CDs of the Beatles and I would never pay over $5 so this works for me for those rare songs that I don't have but want. Those of you who think this is worthless can go sit on a pole.

I was secretly hoping for lossless tracks.
Agreed. If music is worth having, it's worth having in a format that plays nicely across all devices. I'm actually buying stuff on CD that I'd already bought from iTS, I rip it lossless, then transfer to my iPod at 128 because it doesn't matter there.
I already own all the Beatles I need on CD and vinyl.
This is where you lose me. If you already have it on CD, why care about iTS having it at all, let alone lossless (unless it's the vinyl you want to replace)?

Awesome

Awesome for fans of The Beatles, lame for the other 5% of you. The same 5% who happen to be trolls.

could they not just have done this announcement on the iTunes music store?
You put it on the Apple website people assume it'll have to do with computers or software.

The Beatles may have been a good band, maybe not, but they aren't supernatural and don't deserve to be glorified like gods. They are just people that made pleasing music.

apple.com has been updated

The clocks are gone. . .and the Beatles are all over the place on apple.com.

I can't believe that this appears to have been the big announcement. Apple seriously needs to cool it with these over-hyped taglines like "it's a day you'll never forget." I mean, come on! Pretty much any Beatles fan already has the vinyl or CDs and if they have the CDs and they use iTunes, there's a 95+% probability that they've already ripped the CDs into iTunes anyway.

I'm really disappointed in the Apple hype machine this time. Hype wi-fi syncing, hype a subscription based streaming service. Don't hype the Beatles coming to iTunes by saying it'll be a day we'll never forget, for crying out loud!
