may be the do not live in that generation and may be they do not live in this country (or countires, US, UK, Aus, Jp) where beatles is popular???

Im not a fan of the Beatles. i haven't really listen to there music, But for Apple get us over excited about something that should have been done years ago is a bit of a dissapointment. i hope the next time they do something like that it is AC/DC

Well the hype machine was started by Apple when they said we would NEVER FORGET this day....come on there is no defending them on this one.

"NEVER FORGET this day" is basically $teve Job$ hypnotic way of getting fans to suck all the Beatles stuff up from iTunes even though they have it on CD anyway and is a cunning way to make $teve'$ wallet even more fatter than it is being the marketing devil he is.

Pretty lame! Come on, the only people that really care about this are the die hard Beatles fans. I'm sure the Beatle fans have been waiting for this day to finally buy copies of the songs, that they already own and have on their ipods, ripped from CD. This is a day I can't wait to forget.

wow

I know The Beatles are important to some people.... but does it really change MY life that i'm now able to download music my parents listened to? I thought this announcement would be something important to a broader audience... I guess not

Damn. What a bunch of whiney babies. No one saw this coming yesterday morning. If it was built-up, it was in your own head. Keep your expectations in check. Fairplay to Apple for finally landing this after 7+ years. I wish I had their lawyers.

Honestly -- this is boring. However, Apple really didn't OVERHYPE it. We did. The media did. Apple put a little graphic on their website the day before it released. Other companies only wish that a such a graphic could garner this much attention, speculation and advertisement.

Thank you! Seriously, people here act like it would have to be the second coming to deserve a spot on Apple's home page.

Lame! Who cares about the Beatles anymore?? I was thinking and hoping for...iToilet with iOS 4.2 installed on it...another year of disappointments.

Anti-climactic

So, now buy previously available music from another vendor, Apple, in compressed format? Sure, that's nice.

A day I will never forget??? Entirely lame-o. Just goes to show how huge the Apple corporate ego is.

Sorry Apple, I just forgot about it.

Apple is fast becoming the company that cried wolf. Good job overhyping everything to death and in the process making yourself more and more irrelevant.

pathetic! Apple gets more and more ridiculous, "a day I'll never forget", are they kidding or do they actually believe that? This must come as a shock to you, Steve, but I have had all Beatles songs for quite a while, yes, also on iTunes... and surprisingly I won't go and buy them again!

Moronic to build up expectations like that for absolutely NOTHING.

Lame

I wonder what's wrong with these 418 people who clicked "dislike".
How can anybody not like the Beatles?

I find their music and lyrics to be rather pedestrian. I find the music of the Rolling Stones and the Jimi Hendrix Experience to be far superior. But I've talked to a lot of people who were around during that era, and I can certainly understand how the Beatles changed the way pop albums were written, produced, and recorded. Unfortunately, those innovations don't translate to interesting music for me. But to each his own.

I honestly think they should not have hyped it up the way they did yesterday. It gave a lot of people false expectations. They should have just updated the homepage today, and not hype up anything. People here would be a lot more positive about it, and not feel like "Hey! Today was supposed to be a day I'll never forget!"
