To all,

I maybe in my 20's but I like some of the beatles stuff, and yes Im british.

All the comments here wont make a single difference to what goes on in the public eye. People will still buy them all, even if they have the CD's because they wont want the hassle of transfering them from CD to Ipod!

Also I notice a huge majority of people who say 'BORING' and all that stuff, if your bored go and do something else and not complaining about how hyped up this press release and stuff was!!!:D

CentralMan

There wasn't even a press release, just a graphic on their Web site.

Here is a hint, if you are in any way mad or upset about this announcement or the way it was announced, you have a serious problem.
Spot on. I don't know why people are getting angry, getting their knickers in a twist, complaining, moaning or whatever.

Just let it be. It's a bit of fun marketing after long and hard negotiations from both sides. Especially on Apple's part to include a huge and successful band in their catalogue.

There are people who work for Apple that are human you know. It isn't just the Steve Jobs machine grinding away here. Fair enough if it's disappointing for most of you, but maybe Apple having a quiet marketing time here before the Christmas holidays appears.

Be happy people!

I like The Beatles they have some great music, i own many cd's of theirs.

Why should i care about this announcement ? They are now available in a Store that sells their music at 100% mark up from anywhere else.

YAWN

Perhaps you should decide what to care about on your own and not leave it to the Internet and media outlets. If people had done that, a lot of people would a lot less grumpy on here today.

boo ****ing hoo

if you are a little bit interested in beatles, you got this remastered version a long time ago, also the box is so nice, and the content that comes with it, papers, etc etc.

what a huge letdown.

apple is failing so much lately, iphone looks dull to dual core androids etc etc. meh

I guess you weren't around when the box sets were released. There are a number of reasons why many fans chose not to buy either set, one of the main ones being "I'm going to wait until they're available on iTunes."

That would be me. It wan't an issue until my turntable crapped out. I own all the LP's. I only bought two CD's. The day I have been waiting for is finally here. I guess all the 20 year old tech heads could care less though!

All Apple did was replace a graphic on their home page for 24 hours. That's it. How anyone thought the announcement would be anything but something of this relative size and scope is beyond me. It was an announcement. Want to see over-hype? Go read a HuffPost headline.

This is a big deal—by any measure. The #3 album on iTunes right now? The Glee Cast Christmas Album. Most people, and by that I mean nearly everybody, don't know or don't care about bit rates, 90 sec. previews, data centers or cloud computing. They vote for Bristol Palin on DWTS, concern themselves with the size of Katy Perry's breast—which are #2 on iTunes right now—and generally just get on with their lives.

Apple's promo was perfectly appropriate. They are going to sell a lot of Beatles tunes.

I don't know what music you haters listen to, but will anyone be listening to it in 40 years?

Elegant and stylish announcement by Apple. Now, get back Jojo, go home

If all they did was replace a graphic on their page, it would not have constituted a lote of hype.

Saying today is a day we'll never forget, that's a lot of hype, and there is no way to claim that it is not. A day we'll never for get might be the first flying car hitting the showroom floor, cold fusion being discovered, Apple equiping their machines with the latest technology :p, but not selling music that could be purchased at Best Buy and imported into Itunes.

There are many days that people will never forget, this is not one of them.

Way to go Stevie!! This is so stupid!! I've already pirated all of the beatles. I would NEVER pay for music again.

Wow. words escape me. So you admit that you steal, akin to shoplifting essentially. You have no moral fiber. And you have just announced online that you are about as trustworthy as what gets stuck to the bottom of my shoe.

Someone hand this guy a nobel prize.

apple is failing lately? WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they are bigger now than they have EVER been and only growing by the hour. What the hell.

Bigger than ever at making lousy products/software. Their QA has died the last few years. It no longer exists.

ok the beatles are great but that does not warrant a hyperbolic special like apple did. i also do not like this "exclusivity" very much but so what.

this is not a big issue in itself but apple should be careful not to overuse their power to get media attention or they run the risk to not get media attention when it is warranted and when they actually need it.

Cant believe so many people are posting their superior opinions on this site.

1.If you are so disappointed, get a life. It, (your life) should not depend on apple releasing new stuff.
2. It's simply called advertising. The Beatles.com released the same info at the same time. My simplest guess would be that it was part of the deal that Apple make a big announcement. Apple Corp wants to sell as many songs as they can. If it was not for Aspinal, this deal would have been struck ages ago.
3. For all those of you who state.. old music, who cares, garbage, there are new Beatles fans coming to age every year. This is why the Beatles have consistently sold records and discs and tapes and video and DVDs for the past 40 years. Some of todays most popular artists dont even sell as many songs (in iTunes speak) as the Beatles do every year.

It's very inspirational TBH

Instead of being mindless like many others are here I actually see this whole thing as a positive. Honestly anyone that has their own business will see this as inspirational. Anyone who's followed Apple over the years knows their ordeal with the Beatles. McCartney and company have flat out refused to allow Beatles albums on iTunes regardless of how big iTunes had become. For Steve Jobs to finally pull this off just shows me that he will stop at nothing, not allow negatives to stop him and will climb any wall no matter how high to accomplish his goals. For him to finally pull this off says what an amazing business man he is. I have my own business and I can only dream at this point to accomplish what he has accomplished. One man did it all. Can any of you naysayers here say you've accomplished what he has? NO, otherwise you wouldn't be spewing nonsense about how your life was wasted over some "lame" announcement.

Just pointing out that my prediction from yesterday that The Beatles would dominate iTunes sales charts is coming true even faster than I thought.

Having downloaded a number of their tunes this morning and being blown away by how good they sound just blasting out from my laptop, it makes sense.

THE BIGGEST FRIGGIN' YAWN EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys, check it out, grandpa's music has been digitized! Yay!

Give me a break. How out of touch can Apple be?

What's next? An unforgettable day where Apple announces new elevators at HQ???

Geez.

Perhaps you should decide what to care about on your own and not leave it to the Internet and media outlets. If people had done that, a lot of people would a lot less grumpy on here today.

I'm not grumpy, just don't see any thing in this announcement. All this says to me is go steal their work. Pricing here is just wrong.

Selling The Beatles songs for more than the CDs cost and in worse quality. Truly a day that you'll never forget!

My guess is this was a day for mister Jobs to never forget, he won the battle and got the deal, good for him, but a day you'll never forget, i think that only counts for Mr Jobs and not anyone else.

And it still all is lousy quality, like all content from itunes, accept apps.

Multicore supported Final cut studio 3 would have had a much bigger impact then this i think, but i'm sure that is coming too ;-).

Still selling

To those moaning about this not being important and 'too late' as everyone has their albums....

Why are there 5 Beatles albums in the iTunes top 20 already, less than 3 hours after going on sale (US Store)?
I expect by the end of this week, they'll all be in the Top 20, with a fair few in the Top 10.
