This thread is hilarously retarded.

The Beatles are the BEST SELLING BAND OF ALL TIME. Regardless if you like their music or not, iTunes finally getting the catalog of the BEST SELLING BAND OF ALL TIME is definitely relevant news.

No it isn't because no one cares. They wanted a huge fanfare and all they got was bitching on internet messageboards like this. Don't get me wrong the hardcore Beatles fans who already have every song on every single format available will buy these and {heaven forbid} take 'Hey Jude' to number one on sunday. However if they think teenagers will suddenly stop listening to Lady Gaga and start buying up music that is forty years old, then you're mistaken.

I wonder of there will be this much interest in the Lady Gaga Catalogue in 2050?

Whoever finds this news satisfying would not be daily reader of Apple fannews site. If Apple was targeting at casual users (= majority) they shouldn't have engaged us fanboys. Only dispatch fanboys when they will actually broadcast their love to casual users for extra publicity on behalf of Apple. Otherwise the Apple fanfare will diminish with mehs and sighs.

So wait, what else then would you constitute a "game changer"? New Macbook Pros?

Wait....don't answer that. I almost forgot where I was for a second

But you know what...This probably will be a day you won't forget since it's caused so much controversy over nothing and like most here, you're putting up such a hissy fit over it.

Why is posting messages to this (or any forum) discussing the topic of said forum message considered "throwing a hissy fit"? Isn't that what this place is for? Posting opinions and having discussions?

not here :(

which is good because i think the beatles are terrible.

wow how boring can a company get? Seriously "a day we will never forget" !?
all this hype over some lame announcement HA!

its going downhill with Apple really fast if you ask me...

its official --- Apple lost its "magic" and is yet another boring company trying to brainwash everybody in the name of the mighty $

can't help but feel Apple is starting to look as a ridiculous toy company

They have about as varied of a music catalog as any band that ever existed. Surely you don't hate every single one of their songs.

I think there may be one song that doesn't mae me wretch but I don't like the darkness of the music and Robert Plant's voice irritates me.

For any of those who thought the beatles coming to iTunes was a non event, everyone already owns their music and nobody will buy it again...

Looks like all albums in the iTunes top 50 allready (highest are number 8, 12, 14, 15 (the $149 box set), 16 so far). And 27 singles in the top 200. That's just in the first few hours of release, and most of the world probably hasn't even heard they are available yet.

Nah, this couldn't possibly be making money for Apple...
