"Father? Yes son.. I want to kill you" I'd call that a downer.
Umm - you left out the next line.....

Lots of reasons. For one, in order to get the entire Beatles catalogue on CD you have to buy both mono and stereo boxes. That means buying a BUNCH of duplicate content.
Dumb. All the hype just to announce the Beatles on iTunes. If this is the thing Steve is starting to think is a huge deal that people will remember for a long time, perhaps it is getting close to time to step down.
They continue to influence anyone who makes "new" music today.
So if I can get the box set, why heck would I pay the same price for the digital version of it? In lesser quality no less.
"A day you will never forget" is hardly a low-key teaser.
Typical Apple. Making a mountain out of a mole hill better than anyone in the industry.
Awesome for Beatles fans, lame for the other 95% of us.
I love all the people complaining about the big announcement being The Beatles coming to iTunes. Seriously folks?! All I have read for YEARS is people complaining about iTunes not carrying a single song of theirs. All that was on there were remakes of specific songs that weren't even that great. Now we have The Beatles on iTunes. After many many years of waiting, we have them. Now what?! A leading majority of people are disappointed because they wanted some new technology?! Come on folks, why must we as Apple users, be so hard to please all the time?! We wanted Newton, we got iPod, disappointment, sold huge in the end. We wanted Mac OSX on a Tablet, got iOS. Many were like "What's with the big iPod Touch?!" Well, it sold big in the end, and lots of people love it. Honestly folks, if Apple were to release a new version of iTunes tomorrow and it had streaming, you would manage to find something wrong with it and complain about it too.
I for one, am happy that The Beatles are here, and that they sound pretty great too, even in a compressed digital format. I guess I am too easy to please though.![]()
Apple were right this is a day we will never forget. The day Apple really angered it's fans/supporters with the most pointless announcement in their history.
The beatles don't deserve all this fuss when they probably only allowed their music to be sold on itunes because they know their old distobution model is dead and the would have been nothing but left for dust if they did not stop this stupid attitude of we will not be on itunes.
I am so glad to see the mojority of people are giving the Beatles the sort of welcome they deserve. LOL
I'm pretty sure the box set on iTunes is only the stereo version.
Hardly. Any real Beatles fan already own their albums and so this is a big nothing announcement.
Lame. nobody really cares about the Beatles.

"oh this is so overhyped, whine, whine, whine, complain, complain, complain."
so.....what did you think marketing departments were for?
That was one of the dumbest things I've ever read or heard in my entire life.
Apple never done their market research with this. If you got to amazon you can get the box set foor $129 with the exact same songs which you could then rip onto iTunes so I really can't see anyone buying this
