But the whole "JEEZ PEOPLE RELAX" tone in these forums is getting really tired.

Many, not all, but many of those telling us to relax are the ones who have tracking numbers already which is even worse.
"Dudebro, I got mines, and you'll get yours in a month or two so, be cool bro"

It would make sense to complain after waking up and ordering and getting the date range. Doesn't make sense to complain weeks after accepting the date range and then surprised that hey! It might be in that range!!

The date range was crap to begin with and you can go back and look at 4/10 posts to see those discussions as well.

Personally I think we are all getting them and this email is intended to make you update your phone and watch videos. FWIW.

I just called them to see what they say about it... they are claiming everyone is going to get it, and its purpose was to provide the links to intro using / setting up the watch with the guided tours, as a sortof "new product introduction", for the people that are soon to receive it.

They told another poster it meant you were in the second wave, was on another thread. I don't think that they know to be honest.

I'm afraid that may be the case. I have been charged and have a tracking number through UPS, and I haven't gotten the email. If they had sent the emails out to everyone in the 4/24 to 5/8 group, then I would say it means nothing, but as it is it sounds like an ass-covering move.

Apple is playing games first off how the hell do they honestly need a 2 week window. Second what does "working on order" mean it's to vague.

Apple has to know all the people in the processing stage, the ones getting the email, were waiting for a shipping confirmation. Imagine the surprise to open the email you excitedly hoped was a shipping confirmation only to get information you already knew. I know you're working on my order, Apple. That's what "processing" means.

I'm confused as to what one is to infer from the receipt of the email.

Anyone with preparing for shipment get the email? Quote answer.

Yes, can someone answer this one? It would give us some helpful data points to separate between the conflicting messages Apple is telling different people who are calling (myself included).

S*** Show
A description of an event or situation which is characterized by an ridiculously inordinate amount of frenetic activity. Disorganization and chaos to an absurd degree. Often associated with extreme ineptitude/incompetence and or sudden and unexpected failure

overreact
əʊvərɪˈakt
verb
gerund or present participle: overreacting
respond more emotionally or forcibly than is justified.
"the Authority are urging people not to overreact to the problem"
synonyms: get upset over nothing, react disproportionately, get overexcited, go too far, act irrationally, lose one's sense of proportion, exaggerate, make something out of nothing, make a mountain out of a molehill, blow something up out of all proportion;

If nothing else this lends credence to the notion that Apple has just orchestrated its worst launch ever. Only celebs and the rich are happy (as always).

I call Bull S***

Yeah at first the guy didn't even know what email I was talking about, but then when I read it to him he suddenly had that explanation ready, so I would give it good odds of being BS. I am sure they are jammed with calls about this stuff and they are just trying to keep everyone calm. Also, it sounds like they told other people different things...

They could make this all better if they updated our delivery dates to smaller ranges so we can stop guessing. They want to kill the chaos and uncertainty? Be transparent.

This is less transparent and reeks of uncertainty. Are the production yields this low and variable?

I didn't receive this letter on the two of the three watches I ordered. Both watches state ready for shipment and the one with the letter still processing

so then we know for sure that this was directed specifically at processing orders only

so it is one of two things:

first, they are telling us to get ready for charge and ship soon, which i doubt, because why would they tell us it was coming and not just do it.

second, its to soften the blow when tomorrow nothing happens, and especially for the 38mm space grey because not one single watch i know of has been charged in the USA and that means not 1 until of that model will go out that i know of, and that's pretty insane considering they had so much time

unfortunately there really isn't a good reason to tell people that their order will be processed soon, but there are a whole hell of a lot of reasons to try to stem the tide of bad press and disgruntled customer calls

not 100% proof but a good argument, i think

plus my gut is screaming its cover your ass

We just got these emails for two of the three watches my husband ordered.

He ordered by 3:05 EST a pink sport 38 mm for his sister.

He ordered by 3:06 EST a 38 mm Stainless a Steel black sport band for me, which has been charged and is being prepared for shipping. No tracking number issued yet.

He ordered for himself by 3:29 EST a 42 mm Stainless Steel Black Classic Buckle. It had taken him a while to pick this after his first choice of gray 42mm Sport slipped to 4-6 weeks.

What I don't understand is why my husband's order isn't being filled sooner because they seemed to take forever to sell out all their preorders for that model on the 4/24-5/8 date. So I thought they had loads of those classic buckle watches.

Oh well we are just happy to find out we are going to get all three eventually. We didn't know there was a 2 per customer limit when we ordered and were growing anxious because initially Apple canceled several other people's orders that were in excess of the limit.

I just hope the Pink Sport 38 mm arrives no later than next Wednesday or we are going to have to show up at my sister-in-law's birthday celebration empty handed except for some flowers or something.

i would've gladly been waiting in line tomorrow to get this sucker but ya know what , that was stolen from me. Now I can't even get the watch because I was unlucky to get an order confirmation a mere four minutes after the website opened TWO Minutes late?

Please save it. Its not even close. Id argue its their best launch ever. Apple was able to get people to buy a $400 watch they didnt even know they wanted 3 weeks ago.

This email is a boilerplate Apple email and has been for years. Ive gotten this email numerous times and recieved all of my orders on the day of the launch usually first thing in the morning.
