I think it is ridiculous the amount of people who are upset that they *might* not be getting it on Friday. It stated very clearly when the order was placed that it may not arrive until May 8th.
Sure it is fine to be an optimist and want it on Friday. It is always natural to want something and be a part of the fanaticism on the first day people get them.
But the fact is Apple never promised delivery by Friday from the very beginning. The greater fact that they could not promise a Friday delivery has been a bigger issue which has long been talked about related to fact that you also won't be able to buy one in a store on Friday.
This launch is complicated, and supply is clearly constrained in some areas.
Personally I am just happy that I am going to get mine on or before May 8th. That is all I can really ask for based on the expectations that were set by Apple when I placed my order. That is basically the only "guarantee" that I have got from Apple as a customer.
Sometimes it sucks to be a highly demanding customer who is heavily invested in a company's products, but life is too short to be pissed off. Enjoy the fact that they actually made a product you want, and that you will get it someday soon.
A few days is better than the months we have been waiting already.
And this is all worst case. Best case is we all get them on Friday and hurray new shiny thing.
No joke
Part 2
Please save it. Its not even close. Id argue its their best launch ever. Apple was able to get people to buy a $400 watch they didnt even know they wantec 3 weeks ago.
ATTENTION PLEASE.
Can even one person here cite ANY source or logic that makes this email mean your delivery date is not 4/24? "The other thread said so" is not a valid source.
We should all get a free Milanese loop band for this
same watch as me, but no support page and no invoice.
Couldn't agree with you more. I think the thing that's setting most people off (and what I'm frustrated with) is the whole idea of a "shipment window." Apple has NEVER done this before (at least I don't recall it). I wouldn't be frustrated at all if they told me my watch would arrive on or around a date. Apple created this mess saying it would release on the 24th only to backtrack and give a window.
wait so you got the "were working on your order" and then a shipment notification?
Correct I had to track by reference but I have received the email and have a tracking number.

This email is a boilerplate Apple email and has been for years. Ive gotten this email numerous times and recieved all of my orders on the day of the launch usually first thing in the morning.
Read in between the lines! It means your Apple watch hasn't been born yet!
Received this email just now:
I take that as "No, you aren't getting it on Friday."
Edit: Milanese 42 / 3:08AM confirmation
They could make this all better if they updated our delivery dates to smaller ranges so we can stop guessing. They want to kill the chaos and uncertainty? Be transparent.
This is less transparent and reeks of uncertainty. Are the production yields this low and variable?
Do we even know it's email of death? The email does say 4/24-5/8. Maybe everyone will get this email eventually as it trickles out. Not sure why people are freaking out about this. Unless there's something I missed?
Anyway, I haven't received it. Don't know if that's good or bad really. =/
Hate to break it to you, but that does not appear to be the Apple Watch itself. Its label was created a day earlier than all the others, and it's not being sent by UPS Next Day Air. That's likely an accessory or something else entirely...
so then we know for sure that this was directed specifically at processing orders only
so it is one of two things:
first, they are telling us to get ready for charge and ship soon, which i doubt, because why would they tell us it was coming and not just do it.
second, its to soften the blow when tomorrow nothing happens, and especially for the 38mm space grey because not one single watch i know of has been charged in the USA and that means not 1 until of that model will go out that i know of, and that's pretty insane considering they had so much time
unfortunately there really isn't a good reason to tell people that their order will be processed soon, but there are a whole hell of a lot of reasons to try to stem the tide of bad press and disgruntled customer calls
not 100% proof but a good argument, i think
plus my gut is screaming its cover your ass
Uh, they showed us the watch seven months ago.![]()
No accessories ordered and I live in Canada so I would expect a different shipping option.
You wanna to troll people who placed an order at 3:01 then expect them to support your youtube? Nice strategy
Wait, but what does your order say when you look it up in the Apple Store?
