You Apple appologists are really funny. When are you going to understand that if a product named iPhone is not making phone calls is a big deal? If for whatever reason it is working fine for you then that's fine, really great, enjoy it and more power for you. But for the group of people that can't get any recent reception with the device what do you expect them to do? Blind themselves like a lot of people do here and think that their flawed phone is as it should be and going to solve the whole world's problems? Or actually get their statement to Apple where it hurts, their wallet!

If you are going to do what Steve says and try to hold the phone with one finger then that's ok, or put it in a cheap piece of silicone or something then that's your problem, but don't complain because some people won't take this **** from Apple.

Been making phone calls on mine since day 1. I can recreate the problem if I try in my low signal bedroom, but it doesn't effect me at all when I just use the phone. Seems a little silly to sit in my bedroom like a troll and try to cover the corner as much as I can so it fails. So yeah, I like my Iphone 4 plenty, guess that makes me a fan boy. I've been using my phone like normal and it has been behaving, like it should.

People need to stop being fixated on this and just use the phone. If you can't make a call, then taking it back seems reasonable to me. To call all the people who like this phone apologists is idiotic, but clearly you don't care about that, you just want to bash the phone.

I'm think about returning mine Now. At school all I do is surf the web and when I hold the phone in portrait mode the bars really go down and the phone slows down. I can't take that, if it comes to it imma get the new driod.
I never taught I would say that, but come on Apple!!! And I've had the bumper on it since day one too

Just returned mine and never been happier

Returned iPhone 4. Just purchased new black 32GB 3GS and synced. Phone calls - guess what? I can make then and receive them and don't lose any signal, yahoo!

Oh yeah and my iPhone 3GS doesn't slip off a remotely diagonal surface!
Oh yeah and my iPhone 3GS actually has a good sensor in it to detect when it's been pulled away from my face so I don't accidentally dial someone or beep numbers in their ear!
Oh yeah and my iPhone 3GS is more comfortable to hold!
Oh yeah and my iPhone 3GS doesn't lose signal when I hold it "wrong"!
Oh yeah and my iPhone 3GS always worked before I upgraded, and it still does!
Oh yeah and my iPhone 3GS luckily doesn't have any "non-issues" associated with it, THANKS MR. JOBS!!!

Oh yeah, your iPhone doesn't have an ultra high Rez. screen.

Oh yeah, your iPhone doesn't record 720P videos.

Oh yeah, your iPhone doesn't have a flash for low light pictures

Oh yeah, your iPhone doesn't FaceTime.

Well that was dumb. The phone has been out a week. Do you REALLY think that Apple isn't going to fix this? Wow. Just simply, wow.

BTW, the 3GS 32GB isn't offered "brand new" anymore.

Nice try = FAIL.

Oh yeah, my iPhone 3GS ACTUALLY WORKS NOW.

iPhone 4 Fanbois abound...

Gee, that's funny. I guess that's a NON-ISSUE, seeing as how I just bought it brand new in retail packaging. Hmm. And good luck with the firmware repairing a HARDWARE defect...go back to school please and log back in when you're intelligent enough to comment.

So does my iphone 4. No dropped calls. No Death Grip.

LOL phones aren't like cars...you don't go back to the "vintage" 3GS. I recommend getting a zack morris phone. THOSE ARE HOT PHONES!!!!

Well then yours is an exception, and congratulations. I like the 3GS and I'll stick with that until the bugs get ironed out in this one which apparently is going to be a while, or at least until a new iPhone 4 is released, complete with magical baby unicorn egg and sprinkled in fairy dust.

Also (LOL) you gave yourself away: "No dropped calls. No Death Grip." No death grip = no dropped calls, naturally. Fail.

thats not true. I know people that get dropped calls when they have 5 bars.....ON THEIR 3GS.

Its just this instant that we can use to correlate short the antenna to a drop in gain on the antenna signal which could ultimately lead to lower signal and a higher probability of dropped connection. This reduced drop can be somewhat related to the "death grip" phenomenon. By no means are the two directly dependent or independent.

I would like the fail revoked please.

OK, let me think about that. Um....no. And here's why: ever since I upgraded to the iPhone 4, dropped reception and dropped calls, bad traction, the phone actually froze on me on Sunday night when I was simply checking mail...I've had EVERY SINGLE iPHONE and NONE of them have ever choked on me before...bad proximity sensor, less comfortable to hold, I apparently couldn't hold a phone the way I have held a phone since I was THREE, bluetooth loses connection, push notification doesn't work...COME ON DUDE! Blind? I went back to the 3GS, and, as luck would have it, all of the issues above are non-issues. Wait, where have I heard that before...

HOWEVER - I will give you kudos that your request for a "fail"-revocation was less curt and more polite than Mr. Jobs, therefore, fail-revocation granted.

Thank you for the revoking my fail. YES!!!!!! but on a serious note, could it be just this phone? LOL I actually work for a company that designs a specific part for the iphone. And our goal is to reach low number of defects out of let say....a million or billion. That's just us. Imagine the other OEM parts that are in there. When you put it all together, who knows what could go wrong.

I don't expect every phone to be perfect. You have a right to be upset considering the money that you have spent, but have you considered just exchange for another iphone? and then after that.....concede to going back to 3GS?

I've been debating whether keep my i4 or just deal with the issue. It's frustrating when my calls are dropped because I forget to hold the phone the "right way". However, I may just return it wait couple weeks for the fix and purchase a white i4.

I still have my 3gs and froze yesterday while I was seeing how fast it would load cod zombies versus my iphone 4. iphone4 was loading much faster and it did not froze. Apple is extremely busy right now with the launch. If there is a quick fix, I am sure they are working on it. I am lucky. My phone is working just fine. I would wait.

No, and I wouldn't. I just should have waited for the initial bugs to be ironed out, like many others are doing. Trading a lemon for a lemon doesn't seem like much of a wise trade: especially since there are SO MANY lemons out there currently judging by the scores of negative reports, forums and videos available online. It's not a single-phone issue; this is piss-poor design flaw and frankly, inexcusable...and Jobs' curt reply of "non-issue" doesn't sit well with someone who gave him $327.41 for a product he was told was superior and "changes everything all over again."

One word: CRAPPLE.

I get a great laugh at the thousands of people that can't grasp the importance of having a reliable phone. Apple fanboys are an entertaining bunch.

Me too! Let us all pledge blind allegiance to our Lauded Lemming Leader who is graciously steering us all towards the Great Cliff, and we shall sing kumbayah on the way down...

I'm not sure if this counts, but I was going to upgrade from my 3GS to an iPhone 4 in a month or so. I had all intentions of buying one. Now, I'm just going to skip this generation if this isn't fixed.
