i'm sure it's great but i'm skipping it. the only reason i'd get it is for the extra battery life but my 12 Pro Max has good battery life and still at 100% health and i got it day 1. even if i traded in my 12 PM i'd still need to pay like £600...can't justify that.

if the 13 is so great then i can't wait for the iPhone 14 :D i might be able to justify upgrading to that. if not i don't mind waiting until the iPhone 15 which will be even better!

It wouldn’t be a massive upgrade for anyone coming from the 12 - from an 11 and older would be a noticeable upgrade

I’m loving my iPhone 13 Pro Max and agree that it’s the perfect phone. I need no more in a phone. But people who record and take a lot of photos (ProRes) need something better than the lightning port. I can’t imagine transferring large 4K ProRes files over lightning. Apple should have included USB-C or upgraded the lightning port to support higher speeds.

i guess the good thing is most average people aren’t able to properly watch 4k video anyways. last i checked, no iphone screen is 4k. are the ipads even 4k these days?

4K monitors are getting more common. But people would need an iMac, Mac Pro or Mac Mini with capable screen (if we’re speaking Apple ecosystem)

Bend problems? Never had them.

Great battery? I’ve never had an issue.

Nice big screen? Nope. Don’t need it.

Give me light, pocketable, one handed use, and without a camera lens sticking an inch off the back of my phone.

You can take the stainless steel, MagSafe, and Face ID out as well. That will save weight. Give me a fingerprint sensor under the screen.

There are weight saving options. Apple just doesn’t care right now, because most people just buy the phone anyway.

So just get the iPhone SE?

Seems like flagship devices simply aren't for you. Apple is offering a device that you are looking for.

imagine having a phone that you can use as your computer.. and not have the need for a computer.. you can basically day trade stocks from your pocket
My job is in social media and make a living from my iPhone.

Content creation, editing and management all through this little PC in my pocket. Simply amazing.

Calling the phone "flagship" doesn't make it appealing. That may impress you, but it doesn't impress me. Every Apple phone I've ever bought, up until this year, was "flagship". They were also heavy and hard to deal with. I ordered the mini. Just because I don't see value in MagSafe, Face ID, and a huge heavy phone doesn't mean I don't value everything else.

It's hilarious to me how people defend heavy, large, hard to deal with phones. You would absolutely appreciate a smaller bezel, a lighter weight, and an overall smaller device. However, every year Apple makes the phones bigger and heavier. All the blind witnesses oblige, and defend it.

It's a great phone for sure, I really do think it is the best phone for me, I have a 13 Pro, coming from a XS.

I only like the flat sides from an aestethic point of view, I like the curved sides of the XS better in my hand. The curved sides make the phone feel thinner than it really is, and the flat sides do the opposite. Flat sides are a classical example over form over function in my opinion.

I also think that the weight is at it's absolute limit for a phone of this size, I miss the weight of my XS which I thought was pretty spot on, feeling both dense and like a quality item but still not being too heavy in my pocket.

But all in all I'm very pleased with the 13 Pro, the cameras, battery life and screen are utterly fantastic for sure!

It's a great phone... what is it missing with present day / near-term technology?

- No Notch
- Smaller Bezels
- Improved Front Facing Camera
- USB-C
- Faster/More Efficient Wireless Charging

All considered, there is very little left to be desired... as time goes on, components will miniaturize further and we can get thinner/lighter/flip design - but that tech is years out (without compromising) IMO.

So edgy. Please continue telling us how much better you are than us for going against the grain and for not being a sheep like us.

If I had the same values as you, I would’ve bought the mini. There’s zero reason to be so bitter and righteous about what people like in their phones. There’s a reason that there are choices.

It’s definitely not perfect. I went 13 mini after getting a bit fed up with the size and bulk of my xs max. I also ordered a 13pro but was certain I’d choose the mini.

Having used both over the last week, the mini wins on almost everything. It’s so light and pocketable. Easier to use one handed when out and about. Camera is almost identical in most conditions, obviously no telephoto but I don’t use zoom. Extra battery is great but mini is fine.

Outcome is I’m keeping the pro because of the screen. ironically it’s the feature I thought I’d be least bothered about. But the difference is night and day and using 60hz screen afterwards isn’t nice.

But as I said it’s far from perfect, simply because of the excessive bulk. Had they made it lighter then I’d agree. It’s the same weight as my old xs max which is crazy.

You’re talking about subjective qualities. I don’t find my 13 Pro heavy. I don’t find my 13 Pro large. I find my wife’s 13 Pro Max large. the bezels are tiny on my 13 Pro already. And the notch never bothered me, and the even smaller notch on my 13 Pro doesn’t bother me either. All the things you don’t like about the new iPhones don’t bother me so the blind witness comment doesn’t apply.

So, for the record, please confirm that you would like a heavier and bigger phone next year.

What is your point? This whole thread is based on subjective comments.

Flagship is simply a marketing term for the most expensive and the most premium model in the lineup.

I'm just saying Apple is making the simpler, lighter and smaller phones for that niche. So I don't understand the critiques.

Don't like the bigger Pro phones? Get a Mini. Get a SE. You have options!

I’ve had the iPhone 13 Pro for a bit over a week now, and to me, this just has to be the perfect smartphone. It feels like this is the pinnacle of what this product should be.

It’s the most beautiful and premium feeling phone I’ve ever used. The screen is gorgeous and so fluid. It’s big enough to feel immersive but not so big it’s unwieldy or uncomfortable. The performance is the best you can get, and everything is just so speedy. The cameras are insanely good. Battery life is better than I could’ve ever dreamed. I love MagSafe and its ecosystem more than I ever anticipated - so many options.

I’m just SO happy with this device. I loved my XS Max before this and while I was looking forward to the upgrade, I didn’t expect to feel this appreciative or this much of a difference. It feels like the almost decade and a half of the iPhone and its refinements has led to this perfect product.

Apple, kudos to you. It’s a shame reviewers are marketing this phone as a boring upgrade.
Wow you almost convince me to upgrade. 😅

Everyone doesn’t care about the phone’s size. I definitely don’t. I swear some of you act like a few ounces will kill you.
"Everyone doesn't care about" carrying a huge screen around with them everywhere they go. "I swear some of you act like" inconvenience with weight and size isn't a valid critique.

can't comment on the camera bump because on 12 pro but I manage with 12 pro weight - though im looking forward to Pro's being lighter hopefully next year. SS just adds too much heft and not worth the trade off considering its a finger print magnet when nude, and buried by a case otherwise 99.9% of the time for me

13 pro in a lighter package with no notch for the win! Hoping we will get that next year, but in the meantime, I don't find the 13 pro to be a noticeable difference than my 12 now that I'm using it. Of course I don't have the max, and I did consider it, but the weight definitely was a factor.

I came from an iPhone 6 Plus which I got at launch many years ago. I switched to a Samsung S7 Edge but it got so slow and unreliable after a few years I pulled the 6 Plus out of a drawer and have used it for the past 6 months. The battery was fried and apps were slowly but surely going unsupported as it aged, but it was still very usable.

Going to the iPhone 13 Pro I'm pretty blown away. The screen, the speed of every action, the unbelievable battery life, the cameras, etc. It's heavy but feels like a solid brick in the hand whereas the 6 Plus was paper thin outside of a case and felt easily breakable. The weight is not an issue.

iOS 15 feels way more complicated and probably a bit bloated as Apple throws every feature they can into it, resulting in an overload of messaging from the OS about this and that feature. I think that will subside as I get the phone set up how I want it.

My wife is also now (begrudgingly) using a 13 Pro from a Samsung S7 and it's still to be seen if she stops complaining about iOS - she would rather have another Samsung but the BOGO ($800 off at T-Mo) deal on the Apple was too good. She did remark on the amazing battery life - she used it all weekend without a charge (light user, heavy photographer). I'm hoping she'll come around. I tried Samsung for a few years so it's her turn anyway, but if she hates it we'll get another Samsung for her.

I'm not crazy about face id. It's works perfectly in ideal circumstances but with sunglasses or a mask or in the dark it doesn't work, requiring a two-handed passcode entry. The fingerprint unlock could be done with one hand all the time. Under screen fingerprint sensor will be the best solution when it's perfected.

I ordered the vanilla 13 and the 13 Pro Max. I thought the 13 Pro would be too much of a half-way house. But I found the Pro Max to be too unwieldly and cumbersome, and while I love the look & feel of the 13, the lack of 120hz is a dealbreaker. Luckily, I've been able to buy a 13 Pro on eBay BNIB. 😁
