Well it works both ways, because people aren't really taking my input into consideration as well.. so I guess maybe a little bias is at play here. :)

If you're actually looking for help or advice you've 100% shown the wrong way to go about it.

I just think people on this forum dismiss things as trolling or get hostile when it doesn't fit their neat and tidy pre-existing view of Apple. It's sort of like religion or sports except with tech...

I don't think people on this forum dismiss things... they just don't respond well to people overreacting and coming off a bit like a drama queen...

There are a very small percentage of the phones with the problem and you don't even know what the problem is... so suggesting that they should just instantly issue a recall is ridiculous.... there is probably just a small percentage of iPhones that Apple needs to replace... i'm sure they are already aware of the problem and if they feel that there is anything dangerous about it they will issue a recall right away don't worry about it... until that happens stop being paranoid over your experience with the note 7 and just go exchange your phone.

OK, LOL....that was informative.
Care to expand on it a bit so people can see if they have the same symptoms?
Ok so here it is:

I found this hissing sound issue on both my iphone6p and iphone7p, but the difference are, iphone7p's hissing sound is louder. However, this is not the biggest issue. So I went ahead for a comparsion between iphone6p's video recording and iphone7p.

By shooting the same stuff at the same time, you could hear a very loud static noise from iphone7p's video clip by comparing to iphone 6p's. So I contacted Apple and they instructed me to go to Apple store for checking, without surprise, they said the unit is all right.

After I went back home, I did another test, same issue. However, if you plug in headphones and then record using iphone7p, you get almost identical sound quality to iphone6p(basically no static noise). In addition, if you use the front camera, the sound of the video is almos the same. Moreover, if you use voice memo, then there's no static noise in iphone7p's recording.

Conclusion is, I really don't think this is normal, and after further chatting with Apple, they promised to do an replacement for my device.

For me, hissing on the back of the iPhone isn't that a big deal, but it will be one if somehow the sound quality of the video get affected...

EDIT: if needed I could upload both footage from my iphone6p and iphone7p for comparison.

And yeah it sucks that you got two defective items from 2 different manufacturers... but sometimes we all have bad luck streaks... your odds of having bad luck again drop every time.

iPhone 7 is perfect for Apple, they will never change or admit it but they will silently fix it in the next release (7S or 8).

its not that we don't believe you or Op for that matter

I just checked mine via Snapchat and just a regular old video recording

Luckily i don't have this issue

Not everyone has this issue

I don't know if it's enough for a "recall" as Op is gunning for

He just came off really dramatic and that's what has made this thread go from a usual two page at best to four and counting
[doublepost=1474520660][/doublepost]Also my phone wasn't launch day, didn't have time for that, but two days after.

well I agree there's no reason for recall, but definitely they need to fix it for people who experience this issue.

I was actually extremely happy with my Note7 but returned it due to the recall. And purchased a iPhone 7 plus because I've been happy with Apple in the past (although lately, they've been declining imo)...but this year, their product is lackluster...

Just return it now and get the Note 7 again now that they are for sale again.

Idk, a metallic hissing sound coming from the internals all day feels a bit disconcerting. More investigation should be done to confirm..

TLDR; clifftnotes please

I'm no fanboy, check my posts. That said, you're just an a**hole looking to start fires.

At the end of the day, I wouldn't even call this hissing. It sounds like metallic components shifting inside. Not ONLY does it interfere with video (which esentially makes an important feature of the phone useless) but the long term consequences of this internal noise are unknown. Do I want to wake up with to my phone randomly catching on fire one day? No... therefore I think this should be investigated by Apple thoroughly.

Apparently not until Oct. 21. Right now it's only for trade ins

This thread IS Broken! The forum administrator needs to RECALL this thread. ✌️️

So you're gonna cry for an admin because you can't handle anything that doesn't praise Apple? Lol

Sounds like the chips are desperately trying to escape your posts. Fortunately nonsense is not a fire accelerant so you should be just fine

Not true, Sprint and Verizon selling now. At&t will also seeing if you bought Note 7 before.

Doesn't matter what you or anyone else says. It's a concern... what is the consequence of the internal metal chirping? No one knows... it's all just a guess. Long term do I want to take another risk after dealing with the Note 7 recall? Apple needs to look into this more.

Already called a bunch of stores. They said right now they are only doing trade in's for people who held onto their Note 7's or got loaner as they are in limited quantity and they are priority.

Again, diverting a real issue.... Apple uses clever marketing nowadays to fool people more than anything. Once the phones are out they don't give two *****. Take the bending phones for example, they actually twisted the situation blaming consumers

I wonder what marketing firm that Apple hires to fool people the last 10 years with 200 billions profit. maybe Samsung should spend their money and resource to copy this marketing firm and produce the same result.

Mature enough to recognize a passive aggressive little bi*ch who acts self-righteous when he gets called out on it. Not that your posts in this thread suggest you have any right or ability to judge another person's maturity.

You can be sure it will have not escaped their attention

In fact Samsung spend way more than Apple on marketing and have done for years. My favorite part is the op's implied concession that he/she is fooled by Apple's inexplicably, dollar for dollar, magical marketing for buying an iphone.

No more then you can handle sarcasm... seriously though... why don't you just return your phone and stop complaining and stop assuming that Apple is not looking at the problem. I'm sure that most people with the problem just went and returned their phone to the store instead of spending absurd amounts of time and energy complaining about it.... what... do you seriously think that Apple just throws those defective phones in the garbage and says "oh well"? i'm sure that they are looking into the problem. It's a big assumption to suggest that they're not... If they find something dangerous they will issue a recall if they don't they will just replace the defective phones...

I'm kind of curious if you were on the Samsung forum demanding that they recall the note 7 at the time they were suggesting offering an update to limit the charging capacity of the battery? I can guarantee you that that is the solution that Apple would never, ever offer.
