Such a stupid non argument thrown around here so much.

Um, what? OP explains why he's impressed with Samsung phones and not so impressed with his iPhone anymore. It wasn't an "argument". My advice to everybody is buy the product that they enjoy the most. Seems like common sense, actually, and not something that I'd ever thought someone would take offense to.

Was the proper response to try to convince the OP that he should like his iPhone more? now that would be stupid. He likes what he likes and should buy it if it's what he prefers.

The iPhone 11 Pro Max in MG is my smartphone of choice.

Works great. It’s fast, takes amazing pics, it’s reliable, I enjoy it.

But it costs too much for a 2020 phone. It looks outdated as well.

the Samsung’s are looking like the future.

They got flip phones out there and what not and phones with 100x zoom and like 108MP I think?

Buying an iPhone 11 pro Max today at full price feels...not right given the price and choices

Do what everybody does and buy the phone they want.

even so 10X zoom that is optical quality is quite a bit more than what apple currently offers. Take a look at sample photos if you haven't yet. Impressive for a phone camera to be able to get optical zoom at 10X. Would be much more useful to me than the wide angle the 11 has or the 2X optical the pro has.
it is impressive and apple needs to more zoom going forward.

Maybe it’s me but a notch or a hole it’s still a notch of some kind. Until we get notchless displays it’s all moot

iPhone still has a better software that works better even though the Samsung hardware is fantastic

A lot of folks on here probably don't realize that they are using samsung hardware

Buy another phone then and get on with it.

You’re essentially stating that your phone is outstanding but it looks “outdated.” lol.

btw, that 100mp phone is $1400.

I still don't understand why people care what a phone looks like vs. what it does.

I’d hate to see your wardrobe. ;P
Come on, it’s no different from many things people buy. There’s a combination of fashion and usability in most products (okay maybe not drywall screws).

I’ve venture the majority of users list aesthetics as one of their top 5 reasons they choose Apple products.

Outdated in what way?

Retro is cool... My SE looks better than any flagship from Samsung IMO. Personal taste is literally just that.

Samsung rushed to market as soon as foldable OLED screens become available. Now Samsung can claim to bring innovation while selling product with significant quality issues and IMHO not ready for primetime. Apple does not strive to be first, but they like to make the best product possible.

You’re comparing last year iPhone with this year Samsung phone. It’s not quite a comparison. I don’t see compelling reason to even buy the 11 Pro Max when the new iPhone lineup will debut in 7 months for equal or slightly higher $ than 2019 iPhones unless buying it from third party at discount.

Smart choice is to save and wait till the debut to be informed of all your choices before making a purchase (if you prefer iPhone). If you’re not in the ecosystem, why not give it a try and return it within the return period if you’re not satisfied?

What if this year iPhones have the same camera specs? Would you switch back or upgrade to it?

The new iPhone 2020 will still look outdated with it‘s massive notch.

Do they though? Not every phone does all screen display properly. Apples only “issue” is the notch, but otherwise the design is pretty modern.

multiple cameras, edge to edge (with no chin!), one of the best quality OLED displays, steel and glass....

I don’t see how it looks outdated. It still looks newer than most phones

just because Apple was ahead of the design curve 2 years ago doesn’t make it suddenly outdated.

That is not true. The bezels are also too thick, it is not just the notch.

I still don't understand why people care what a phone looks like vs. what it does.

Some people do not like to have a notch on a premium phone. And most people do not like notches as TVs are not being sold with big notches on the screen and some Android phones have even eliminated it (One Plus for example).

To me, buying a folding-screen phone right now means paying $1,500 for hardware that is doomed to fail quickly. Sorry, but if your idea of cutting-edge future technology is a screen that tears itself apart after a week of use, I don't think that makes an iPhone outdated. On the contrary it actually makes the iPhone look like an even safer investment now, assuming if I was willing to spend that much on a phone.

I will take your word for it once the horror stories stop rolling in. But for now, I won't support what I see as a blatant scam

Can’t argue. iPhone is great but the hardware needs a major update perhaps to a no button iPhone.

well right now the notch is needed for Face ID which is the most secure and best method for payments on the market. maybe by 2021 it will be gone

The most important feature of a smartphone is the display, not some wireless payment option that a small group of people uses.
