The most important feature of a smartphone is the display, not some wireless payment option that a small group of people uses.

Yes and the display is still great on the 11 pros. Just like Samsung’s are with the hole punch

Depends who you ask. Using Apple Pay for me is far more important than the phones pixel count, and it’s an immensely useful feature. If the display was the most important thing then everybody would be buying a phone with the best screen.

Honest suggestion - if Apple Pay is that important to you (and I can agree with you that it’s fantastic), look into an Apple Watch. Far easier than using the phone for Apple Pay.

turn a smart phone over and they all look the same
the market is very saturated

Already got one, Nike Series 5. Been using an AW with Apple Pay for more than 3 years now.

It's a small, black rectangle ... it's just like all the other small, black rectangles previously made by Apple, currently made by <insert_other_manufacturer_here>.

I think you’d be surprised just how popular and globally used Apple Pay is. They already have a large share of the market in a short space of time and are growing every day.

No one i know with a iPhone uses apple pay, including all my family.
That really doesn’t mean much. In aggregate lots of people use it.

The iPhone 11 Pro Max in MG is my smartphone of choice.

Works great. It’s fast, takes amazing pics, it’s reliable, I enjoy it.

But it costs too much for a 2020 phone. It looks outdated as well.

the Samsung’s are looking like the future.

They got flip phones out there and what not and phones with 100x zoom and like 108MP I think?

Buying an iPhone 11 pro Max today at full price feels...not right given the price and choices

Buy the Samsung then if that is what you want.

To me on the surface, meaning looking at phones from afar, they all look the same with exceptions to the folding ones.

Apple Pay is very common in the UK and the the parts of Europe I’ve visited. I use it at least twice a day and it’s rare you’ll go to the supermarket, petrol station, cafe, pub, corner shop, or anywhere with a contactless terminal and not see it being used. Using a mobile payment now is about as common as using a debit card. If you out on a night out now all the pubs and bars seem to advertise Apple Pay and Android Pay which is very convenient but also dangerous after a few drinks.

I use Apple pay online plenty when shopping on the iPad. I probably only used it in stores like three times. I used Samsung Pay far more often in stores. Never used Google once.

Just because you do not use it and none of your friends do does not mean that a lot of other people do not use it.

What part of the world are you at as that might explain why you and others you know do not use Apple Pay.

As for me I use it in both the US and the Philippines which are countries I live in.

whatever
i dont use Apple Pay and am proud. some what.

you guys must work for apple... go apple

Looks Outdated?

With the fancy cases seen on most phones now days one can hardly tell what the phone is inside.
But then perhaps the OP was thinking of the user interface?

As for me I still enjoy the 'retro look', size and feel (no case) of my iP3.
Used daily for email, texts, music and of course as a phone and hope to do so until the 3G towers are gone.

But then my newest automobile is 20 years old.

You really don't deserve to own an iPhone 11 Pro Max if you feel that a Samsung piece of utter rubbish is a better device.
Do you realise that SAMDUNG release half baked products onto the market for their ignorant users to test?

I'm sorry but you don't deserve to own an Apple product with your attitude. Return it and go over to the Samdung camp.

I travel for a living and I use Apple Pay every day. Security wise and ease of use - it's incredible. The fact that it gives a once only unique number upon transaction rather than giving your card details is what makes Apple Pay the perfect payment method of today and the future.

Does it cost too much? All the major flagships today are $1k or more.
Does it look outdated? Considering the FaceID sensors, it's still edge to edge screen, even better than the newer Pixel 4.

Samsung are looking like the future? Flip phones that cost $1400 for last year's hardware and less durable screen? Hmm, don't think so. Even the regular S20 went back to flat screen design from the curvy edges on the S10.

100x zoom? Have you tried it? I have, and the image is unusable mess. It's just marketing. 30x is the max you would want for a usable picture. The zoom range is just a numbers game, so it looks good for marketing. In reality, how often do you actually need to zoom that much?

The regular Galaxy S20 without all the fluffs is good enough. That's why Samsung doesn't give it any option for larger storage, because they know if they did, nobody would buy the pricier S20+/S20 ultra. The rest are fluffs for you to spend more money without actually benefitting much, other than maybe status symbol.

As the regular S20 is good enough, and so is the iPhone 11 Pro.

And yet if Apple came out with a flip iPhone 11 Pro Max tomorrow this entire forum would be lit with comments of how magical a folding glass screen is smh

Gotta give credit where credit is due
