Hardly our fault you picked the wrong Englishmen :p
Clearly Tilpots has all the attributes required of a future England manager. :)

You English supporters crack me up.:D

Here in the US we're going crazy over our team that has the exact same record, so far. Expectations really do make a difference!
I think Americans often tend to be a bit more positive when it comes to sport, there's a bit more of a 'we can achieve anything!' mentality whereas we have a love of failure instilled into us at an early age.

If we start winning things, we get suspicious. :D

Indeed. The blame was mine on that one. I just figured Rooney might finally show up for a game. His face is on the ESPN login screen, after all.:D

Yeah, we grew up on Rocky and Miracle and you guys had Shakespearean tragedies. It's all starting to make sense now...:p

The England team don't really reach the standards of Shakespeare – they're a bit more at the level of the Carry On films. :p

The system will now accept transfers for the Round of 16. Deadline in less than 16 hours.
Indeed, and that means one thing – time for a look at the League table after the third round of matches...

Tilpots has risen to the top of the pile this time around, so well done to he – however, his lead is only a handful of points so he'll have to ensure that he maintains his good form to stay ahead of the chasing pack.

That set of rivals includes none other than our Team of the Round, Hooray Henry.

Ironically, in the round which saw France say au revoir to the World Cup the baguette-favouring mouchoir has outclassed us all with a tally of 48 points in an impressive statement of intent.

So well done Tilpots and mouchoir. :)

damit .. round after round behind only a few points..
Ah, but it's not all bad news for you – let's take a look at the national league table and see how the various countries represented are faring...

Would you look at that? At the present time Austria are top of the pile, towering over the rest of us like a big Alpine mountain thingy. :)

at last !

though the choice of captain and defenders starts to really get interesting ..since it more or less boils down on betting who wins the games in the group stage

damit .. round after round behind only a few points.. i hope ican make up something in the KO phase

That's funny 'cause after each match i feel like I'm chasing you! Congrats on the Austrian dominance, too.:)

Let's pick it up, Yanks! It's not like their taking fantasy points off the boards like they are with our team's goals.

I've been too swashbuckling with my player choices, I just might run out of transfers...

Donavan repaid my confidence in him with three goals though, that helped out enormously. Now he's been replaced by Elano. I'm still banking on a Brazil - Spain final, but I have quite a few Germans and Argentines in there as well...

Due to afore mentioned holiday in land of poor mobile reception, I haven't done any wheeling and dealing since I set up my team before the competition started. If I make a transfer now, will it affect my results before the end of this round (i.e. should I wait 5 days to make transfers or do them now.)

Great! My hands-off total ignorance approach for the first two rounds did me well, I'm sure a more active management for the remainder will result in my movement* in the table.

So Messi's been on my team for every round, except gameweek 3 when I figured he'd be resting. He hasn't scored, has only had an couple of assists, and other strikers are putting up big numbers. Inspite of it all, I'm sticking with him til the end. Anybody else as crazy as me?

I guess he's just so amazing to watch that even though I don't need another reason to root for him, I want him on my fantasy team when he finally does let loose. Maybe next round?

haha tell me about it .. i guessed that if argentina scores after 3 games it will be finally be messi... (put him on team and made him captain)
to make it worse my defense so far has scored only single points ..even uruguay has failed me
and also the keeper from argentina

now it's up for the netherlands & paraguay to keep clean sheet and for barrios to finally score to have a chance of catching you this week

Me! :p

The curse of Fizzistan is upon him, I've had him in from the start and I'm leaving him in. That'll teach him for tearing Arsenal apart in the CL ;)

takao - snap, the Experience has Messi as captain and a Uruguay defender/midfielder.

Tilpots and Fizzoid - word from the Experience camp is that Messi will be kept on the basis that Red has to come up, doesn't it?

Cheers,
OW

I've been considering selling him since I reakon everybody else has him in their team so I'm not going to catch up with you unless I try something radical. I (like everybody else) thought he'd be one of the men of the tournament, maybe he'll take off once I sell him.

^^Glad to hear I'm not the only one!

Anyone know who had the assist on the first goal? I read that Ka Ka had the assist for Fabiano's goal. I haven't been able to watch at all today. Stupid work.
