Ah, this is the match I was waiting for to propel me up the table.

Villa my captain, already with 2 goals. Pique part of a clean-sheet so far.

Edit: Aarg, that missed penalty cost me 14 points. (-3 for missed penalty rather than +4 for goal, *2 for captain)

Forgive me if I don't feel bad for you. That performance garnered you the top spot! The very spot I held until Villa's "Aarg" moment... :rolleyes: Sorry if not every captain you pick scores a double point scoring hattrick.

Right, I've learnt my lesson with Higuain – the lad's earnt himself a recall, and the Sporting Car Flags captaincy while he's at it.

However, I learn post deadline that Maradonna has decided to rest him.

The more observant amongst you will have noted that last night saw the final matches in our second round of games, so it's time for a bit of an update.

Well, that's my thunder stolen – mind, you don't have a league table to back it up. :p

As Tilpots rightly says though, it is indeed the Omaha Latics who are topping the table at the end of the second round, so a doff of the cap to their manager swiftaw.

Doffage is also due to our Team of the Round. The best performance in this batch of games was recorded by Brainerd FC, with an impressive 61 points gained.

Regular MacRumors fantasy players will remember that pivo6 dominated last year's Fantasy Premier League, finishing as champion by a considerable distance – can he maintain this good form and add the MacRumors World Cup to his trophy cabinet? Only time will tell...

So Team Tilpots has lots of new faces this week. When I smelled desperation on a player or team... Transfered. That's right, Englishmen, Germans, Italians, and those Yanks all need a big game. A gamble for sure, but it could pay off huge. Here's the lineup:

No confusion, I know there is a difference, it's the shots and crosses that have led to goals but aren't recognised as assists under the rules. Clearly key contributions, but ...

Edit - what do you suggest I do with Lahm and Ozil now that they face England? :)

As Fizzoid highlights, the England defence is strong; they deceive the opposition by appearing slow and bumbling.

Here in the US we're going crazy over our team that has the exact same record, so far. Expectations really do make a difference!

I must say, though, that the 3 Americans on this week's fantasy squad outscored my 2 Englishmen 26-5. More than a bit disappointing...

Including: 3 v Saudi Arabia, 2 v Costa Rica, 2 v Ecuador and 1 v Australia. :rolleyes: Of course he can be a danger, especially with his head, but is a bit Peter Crouch re the teams he scores against; though that could be England's level.
