The MacRumors Fantasy World Cup 2010

My two Germans garnered me the grand total of -1 points. Superb.

Anyway, we'll see if Donovan can salvage something for me against Slovenia this afternoon. I'm guessing he'll chip in with either a red card or an own goal. :p

Interesting new rule. If you're stupid enough to get hit in the face by the ball, it's a yellow card for you my son!
Poor Findley!

And it's 2-0 writing this

I have 0 from Lahm, 1 from Schweini, 1 from Khedira...and Schweini was my captain...

Also Howard is my goalie (ouch). My hot start has been tempered...

well there you go... with your GK choice ;) (i have a US defender in my squad though)

looks like i got lucky out of the germany game with making özil my captain instead of Lahm and replacing khedira with müller ... at least that were 6 points for me out of 3 players

can anybody tell me why they suddenly attribute Müller a missed penatly making him -1 instead of 2 points ?

edit:
finally they repair that error .. he is back to his 2 points again

Confession time; I changed my captain to Rooney for game 2:eek:

you can expect rooney to score 3 goals in the third game because i'm going to transfer him out of my team

yeah i somehow thought he would score again this round that's why i took him on my team .. but no luck

I've kept David Villa for the same reason, fingers crossed:(

With teams like Argentina and Holland likely qualified...players like Higuain, Messi, Snejder, Van Persie are likely to be benched in the 3rd game to rest up...

This is the round where things get really interesting in terms of your fantasy lineup strategy :D:eek::p:D

After considering the decisions taken in gameweeks one and two, a vote of no confidence was passed by the board of directors; naming Rooney as captain and dropping Sneijder seen as the last straw. OW will be placed on gardening leave, training and player selection will be given to Marcel - a chimpanzee from the local zoo. Neighbour Hilda Higginbottom commented, "Arthur and me thought it was strange that Gardners' World was blaring out, I guess this explains everything."

managed a solid 41 points again this week with all players played despite the germans falling out ,the italiens yet again not being able to keep a clean sheet and rooney being a waste

Clever me noticed prior to the start of the tournament that Australia's Harry Kewell was listed as a midfielder – however, I thought there would be a reasonable chance that he would be deployed as a striker, increasing his scoring potential – and if he found the net he would of course get midfielder points. I'll have some of that, I thought.

So – to recap – in Australia's two games he's been an unused substitute in the first and was red carded in the second.

Gah! Kewell!

<shakes fist angrily>

Unlucky.

My boy Ka Ka was off to a tremendous start today with 2 beautiful assists. Then came the elbow, there went three points. :(

She's going head to head with Alan Curbishley for another job.;)
Curbishley's not in for the City job despite national reports, if the local rag is to be believed. Which, to be fair, it probably isn't.

Anyway, what the FA need to do to turn around England's performances is simple – put Capello on gardening leave and appoint Iain Dowie as Temporary National Football Consultant for the remaining group match. :)

Jaffa in decision paying off shocker!

Switching Brazilian/Portuguese 'keepers paid off handsomely this week. Well, it's put me 6 points better in any case. :)

Just made 7 substitutions for the 3rd group games. We'll see if that makes a difference.

Note: I dropped Luis Fabiano before the 2nd games and he scored twice, so this time I dropped Rooney, so he'll probably score a hattrick.
