By far the most unergonomic mouse I have ever used. I could care less about the location of the charging port but it's just a badly designed product, at least it was for me.

It has a better shape than MM but the sensor is still terrible. Also for the price it feels cheap and creaky and the scrolling is a little janky in some situations. Many better options out there and most of those are cheaper. Couple that with the fact that Logitech has been shady lately, and I would steer clear of recommending them to others. They are hyped up due to the money they spend on YouTubers and tech blogs, but the last few years have seen Logic fall significantly behind the competition. No name companies put out better products these days unfortunately.

The Logitech MX Master series have been my go to mice for almost a decade now. I am never going to switch to anything else. At least not something without a vertical scroll wheel which I use a lot.

That's clever, since all the reports say that it takes 2 hours for a full charge - 2 minutes just gets you a day, so you'll need another unscheduled coffee break the next day.
People should take a few minutes to rest every couple of hours anyway, so plug it in and take a walk, or use the restroom or grab some water. My employer provides me with a charger and a port so I can charge it over lunch over overnight at the office or at home. I really don’t see how recharging can be disruptive or inconvenient.

"Siri, set a reminder at 5pm to plug in my mouse'?
"Siri, magically deduce when I've finished work/finished my last facetime call/completed the level/finished my Minecraft recreation of Gormenghast and am actually ready to upend my mouse for the night".

I have plenty of things to do/remember/schedule every day - adhering to a strict charging regimen for my mouse shouldn't be one of them.

Good. Probably because they realize that the only people crying about this are the people who have no intention of buying a Magic Mouse.

Meanwhile, Magic Mouse owners continue to be unaffected by the location of the charge port.
It comes bundled with the price of the iMac, the most popular best selling all in one PC in the world. If people want to buy that PC, they have to buy the flawed mouse. And because of its bad sensor and poor charging port placement, it ends up in a drawer or a landfill for many of those people that owned it.

I hate it every single time when I run out of power and I have to stop what I’m doing and plug in my mouse and WAIT for it to charge.

Forget the port, but the ergonomics are insane. I've been using this mouse for about a year and a half straight and I started having major wrist pain. Fortunately, Logitech can make a good mouse for the Mac.

So what, as long as the mouse looks good in pictures, right Apple?

Folks, Apple is not going to spend a lot of time and resources on a niche product.

It's not a big surprise given the mouse, keyboard and trackpad probably make up such a small percentage of revenue.

Maybe one day in the future, but sadly I think there's a better chance Apple killing off the iMac than it ever being redesigned again.

iMac should come in a CTO without mouse and keyboard. You know, because environment. Problem solved.

Oh- and get rid of the power cord too! Everyone’s got loads hanging about.

The hubris of bringing this nonsense to market. It's just insulting. Apple must think they're invincible.

It seems like a small annoyance, but it's a stupid and frustrating design to put the charging connection on the bottom. They had all this time to create a better solution like wireless charging. Ignoring customer feedback and doubling down could come back to bite them.

Y'all are missing the point. These are ALL NEW, Magic accessories. These are best, most powerful Mac accessories that Apple has ever released for the Mac. And now, all Mac accessories include a best-in-class USB-C port, supercharging their industry-leading charging speed, to enable that same 30-day battery life Apple accessories are known for!

Classic Tim Cook Apple honestly, in which he asks “what is the bare minimum we can do and charge money?”

I’m less annoyed about that and more annoyed about how crappy a mouse it is. Come on Apple sort your mice out!

Honestly asking, what shortcomings are there with it other than the charging port? I use one daily for 8 hours a day and the only thing that drives me nuts is the charging port when it runs low and dies. Otherwise I love the gestures and everything else about it.

Am I wrong or does legit 9/10 chargeable mouses on the market also have it on the bottom? I understand that it's annoying, but it seemingly the way everyone does it, but only Apple gets **** for it

Wrong. They have it on the front, such as the MX Master. So you can charge it while using it.

I find it uncomfortable and wildly unergonomic. Trackpad wins out every time. The skates are cheap af too it glides like barbed wire over metal grating

Apple today updated its Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard, and Magic Trackpad accessories for the Mac with USB-C charging ports, but the accessories have no other external design changes. Yes, that means the Magic Mouse's charging port is still located on the bottom of the mouse, despite the switch from Lightning to USB-C.

The position of the charging port on the Magic Mouse has been the subject of a meme on social media since 2015, but Apple is clearly unfazed.

The augmented reality view of the new iMac on Apple's website confirms the bottom position of the USB-C port on the updated Magic Mouse, as shown above.

Apple includes the updated Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard in the box with the iMac, and the Magic Trackpad is an optional upgrade. The USB-C versions of the accessories are also sold separately in white and black color options.

So what it's still a terrible mouse.

I don't mind the stupid location of the charging port. It charges very fast, and is required infrequently. I am also very used to it and don't mind the ergonomics.

However, I have two (1 Lightning, and 1 AA) Magic mice here because they seem to go bonkers at random times and I have to switch them out. The tracking become frozen, jerky, jumpy, and uncontrollable. After a few days of sitting OFF, they'll just start working again. That goes for both. When brand new, I had no trouble using them on a cloth or plastic mousepad. At this point, both refuse to track on any kind of mousepad and require a bare desktop, which I hate. It's not an issue of dirt as no amount of cleaning has resolved or improved these weird random issues.
