The Giants have not won anything since moving from NY. Maybe they should have stayed put.:p

Travel day... :(

Go Rangers! Let's close this thing out and have Lee ready for game 1 of the World Series. :D

Your wish is granted. I wish the best for Texas (if they go against Philly, and not SF), and I hope all the talk about Lee signing with the Yankees is put off until after the World Series.

The Yankees lost Godzilla, and while their hitting still survived (well not quite enough), they can certainly use a super talent like Lee. It's so typical of the Yankees to steal star players the way they took Damon after the Boston WS run. If the Yankees sign Lee, I wonder how much money we are talking about? It may surpass what CC is getting paid. And if the Yankees get Lee for next season like the Wall Street Journal suspects is the possibility, then will the Yankee pitching staff be comparable to the dominant 90s staff of the Atlanta Braves? This all makes for an exciting set of possibilities for 2011, but right now Lee has to stick to the task at hand and do everything he can for Texas whether he stays with them or not.

Baseball is such a game of musical chairs with players jumping all over the place from team to team. If Texas loses a couple of great players in 2011 (let's say Lee and some big hitter, or even Halladay from the Phillies as NY can buy them out, too), then this year may be their lone chance at a WS championship. Philly could take a couple of trades and still stay strong I think but Texas needs every star they have right now and maybe Texas can sign a big time player from another team.

Texas could use a good high percentage hitter to get people on base. Ichiro?

The going rate for Lee is believed to be 120 million.

Will Nolan pay up to keep him or let the Yankees have at it.

I swear to god if the Yankees get Lee I will hate them even more.

Half the team is there for money.
Again you can blame the Rangers for this. Hicks inflated the market.

I think it's a good thing Oakland, and their considerable tough guy population, is far from New York. I am surprised that NY didn't get Canseco and McGwire after the As won it all in the '80s.

I would freak if NYY got the "freak" from SF.

I don't think "The Freak" can handle the pressure of NY.

Being the three time strikeout leader, and striking out of a lot of batters all over the country, I think he tunes things out. No pitcher has ever struck out the most three seasons in a row and also won the Cy Young back to back. It's possible he may be a pitcher who only started well in his career (better than any in baseball history), but I think he will have longevity, too.

This guy may be small and thin, but he produces game after game. When a good, yet fat pitcher is too injured by the time he is 35, little Tim will just be at the peak of his career. He's in great physical shape, much like the big unit was, and this will render Tim a few all time records for a career, regardless of what team he pitches for.

As for pressure, I think pitching in the context of the highest paid athletes in the world is as high pressure as it gets.

Didn't see you doing much talking when your Sowx got eliminated. We at least had 5 playoff wins, how many did you have?:p

you had at least 0 world series wins this year, the same as the sox.

its all about the BRUINS anyways. baseball is boring.

This is going to be a fight tonight and probably a one run game.

If SF gets into the WS, I think they will go 7 with Texas.

If Philly gets into the WS, they will probably wipe out Texas in four or five games. Philly is so used to the pressure and hype of the WS by now that they should be pretty loose if they make it there.

Texas will be treading in unknown waters and in most scenarios, I can see this working against them. Anyhow, if it's Texas, I want them to win. But my first choice is for the Giants to win it all (first time since the 1950s).

SF seems to get hits, but can't stop getting stranded on the bases. I have to admit the Philly pitching staff has kept their composure under pressure against SF's strong batters.

Good pitching usually wins the day, but I hope not this day.

Any World Series without the Yankees in it is a good one.

Yankees have too many anyway and they most recently won it all just last year.

SF and Texas will be good because they are evenly matched.

SF has no WS wins under the banner as the "SF" Giants, and Texas has never been, so the winner of the WS will be a first time winner in a sense.
