SF wins. One more to WS.

What a fantastic game. Lots of twists and turns, clutch performances, good and bad breaks for both sides. If the ump didn't mistake Juan Uribe getting hit on the hand for a foul ball, he wouldn't have hit the winning sac fly.

Game ball to Buster Posey. Four big hits and a huge put out at the plate. He's like Joe Mauer meets Will Clark, or something like that.

Two great games earlier. Yanks return to form and the Giants were on fire! You can tell they really wanna win the whole thing. Halladay vs. Lincecum tonight and I'm PUMPED! Really pulling for the Giants!

The Yankees were actually looking like the Yankees today. Back to back HR's and for once, the Rangers started making mistakes. That was a good game and a shot in the arm for the Yanks.

He's like Joe Mauer, but doesn't **** himself along with his whole team during the playoffs.

That's where the Will Clark comes in. He put on quite a show in the 1989 NLCS. Mark Grace nearly equalled his production at the plate, but he was just about the only Cubbie that showed up for that series.

Can't wait to (hopefully) see the Giants clinch today :) Lincecum vs Halliday redux should be fun.

I still wouldn't bet against Texas. Hughes hasn't done much to show that he can pitch well consistently, and even if they win that game, would -you- bet against Cliff Lee? I've seen him pitch close up--in '08 in Cleveland, and this past year in Seattle--his control is beyond belief.

weather i hear is not looking to good for the next to games not a good sign hopefully they get alteast one in

Give the assist to the ump.

Dirty Hippy is having some trouble.

This looks like the start of another close one. I believe we will not have any assurances until the 9th inning. Why can't we (Giants) just beat a team the way Texas does to the Yankees?

If we get through to the next round and it's the Rangers we meet in the WS, I actually for the first time consider them a viable threat.

I originally thought the Rangers got in from a weak division or that it was a set of lucky streaks. No longer do I believe that. Win or lose, I think Texas has the full respect of the MLB community.

If the ump didn't botch the bunt call the inning could have gone differently.

If the weather in Texas is bad this weekend it would favor the Yankees, they have a better pen.

This one can go to seven games. The Yankees still have life in them and the thought of a back to back (again) WS title will egg them on. Also the Yankees have to get thier hitting up to par with their pitching to get past Texas. To win the WS, the Yankees will have to get it all together pitching and hitting concurrently, which is usually what they do (27 out of 40 or so).

In tonight's Giants game, Lincecum is the only pitcher with back to back Cy Youngs and back to back to back National League strikeout titles (and this in just 3 1/2 years in the majors), but he's not acting in his usual shutout pitching way right now. This is scary. The Giants can't let this one slip by with homefield advantage over a team that does not do well at Pac Bell Park.

I was SO hoping the Giants would clinch today, as well. I really believe that ******** call in the 3rd screwed Lincecum up that inning and made him think too much, therefore surrendering those runs. After that, he pitched great. Let's hope they can get it done in Philly..

As for the Yanks vs. Rangers, I'm REALLY hoping Hughes will come through for us today. If he does, getting the win against Cliff Lee in Game 7 is gonna be rough, but I do think we can take this all the way again.

Gotta feeling the Phils will win the next two games, and make it back to the WS...

so this I say:

Reminds me of how Fox sounded yesterday during Game 5 of the NLCS. Very pro-Giants. I chalk it up to rooting for the under-dog.

Anything is better than Joe Buck though. I actually turn off the sound and listen to the Philadelphia radio feed via XM/Sirius.

At least Buck knows the game. Ernie is better than Chip Carrey, (not by much) but he is still clueless.
