1. Called 0845 600 1683
2. Asked to find out the tracking number
3. Said that I ordered from Apple.com
4. Gave my Web order number. Gave billing postcode for verification.
5. Got details of dispatch and the tracking number. The tracking number is played twice so be ready to jot it down. If too slow, you can ask to repeat it.

Was that all with the automated phone woman or did you have to speak to someone?

I just tried. Hung up when she decided to connect me with someone real. I guess since my carrier is as listed with Syncreon she didn't have any useful numbers to tell me.

I just spoke with Apple and they advised me that if your courier is listed as Syncreon, it will almost certainly be delivered by UK Mail. The tracking number should start working on the 15/16th but you need to use the reference option, not the consignment option, on the tracking system.

Just received the actual invoice via email. Not the order details that were sent out before, the actual invoice. TNT tracking still not working.

I just got the invoice too... still no tracking number visible in my account details online...

I'd say Covent Garden. It's got a lot more space than Regent Street, which gets very busy very quickly. Covent Garden has a lot of openspace around it, and is a larger store.

Dont even bother with Brent Cross tho - its tiny!

Go to Oxford street..... and queue up from 1pm the day before! :D

(sidenote: The Apple Store is on Regent Street...Oxford Street runs near it :p)

The Regent Street store handles launched very badly as the queue blocks other shops and causes chaos. Given the amount of room at Covent Garden you'd be crazy not to go there instead ;) It's only about 5 mins walk away.

I think this thread is going to go bonkers once it hits friday and there will be tracking, tracking and more tracking :p
I think this will happen at some point tomorrow. UKMail's website will crash at about the same time ... probably UPS and TNT too.

:p You know what I meant! It's 30 seconds from Oxford circus! :)

Basically if you want the longest queue in the UK go here! :D They will probably have the most stock though so long queue could equal good chance of getting what you want.

Usually you'd be right, but there is some works going on in Covent Garden at the moment which means a lot of the space outside the Apple Store is closed. I saw some of the queues last year and I suspect they won't be allowed that many people outside again this year otherwise the area will be blocked for other people.

I wouldn't suggest that either considering what happened last year with the iPhone 4s launch... ;)

try at Westfield mall, I don't know what time they open there but I'm pretty sure that it could be better than central London where normally many tourists are also queuing...

i believe John Lewis will be selling them from Friday morning too, so if you have one of those around, im guessing the queue will be a lot shorter...

ipad 32g wifi and 4g phone call

just got a phone call from apple customer care team after sending email to them about my still processing order status when i order on the 7th and had it engraved, i too had the dreaded delay email 20/3 but i got an apology for this and also was assured that my ipad had been shipped and is on cue for the 16/3 delivery date

Our UK Mail guy stopped in today on another delivery so I checked with him and he seems to think they are delivering them on Friday. He's got my number so told him to make sure he delivers it! :D
